Can you get into recovery mode - press power + volume up ? , if so, wipe data from within stock recovery & reboot.

You will be covered under Samsung warranty unless you have tripped the knox counter?

Samsung should definetly fix this issue as this is a build quality issue. Dont think any software/trick can fix your device because this seems to be a hardware issue.

[Q] My Note2 died with no warnings !!

Sorry guys, I have a serious problem here.
I've had my note 2 for months now and I got to bed yesterday at night, got up this morning to find it completely not responding with a black dead screen. I thought the battery is empty, connected the charger, but a battery sign appears in the middle with a loading sign and nothing else.
Tried to use the "three button" recovery mode but not responding too.
Would anyone please tells me what happened and what shall I do?
Red LED light comes when you press power button?which firmware version you r using u remember?

I cannot access to download mode by "three button" method. Is there any other way to get to it?
If you have warranty than don't try anything,go to samsung service center & get it repair.

Actually I'm out of warranty :crying:
go to download mode... if your "model number:" is empty then u have sds... nothing to do
Btw, why are u out of warranty phone is 6 months old only?
In Samsung service center a motherboard replacing is $300 without warranty
Or try to hold the power button until the boot logo shows up
It might just be a dead sleep

How can warranty expire after 7 months? You should at least have one year warranty i presume. That motherboard is gone my friend, it happens suddenly and is software caused. Only a new motherboard can revive your phone, it happened to me too.

I thought it something like this would never happen. Who can ever imagine that an error like this would occur and Samsung doesn't fix it.
Although all reviews said that updating firmware would fix this error but I have to say that I've already updated my device to the last update and the murderer was still there.
Guys, the battery logo appears on screen when I connect the charger. Does this happen normally with SDS?

Yes sir I tried & nothing happens. But when I do so while connecting the charger, the battery logo disappears after 6 seconds of continuous pressing and red LED blinks.
Any ideas??

Nothing happens, it is strange. Power + HOME + Vol Down after choose Vol Up... If u have SDS it should work - you can solve nothing, but you can reach the Download Mode almost in every situation... - If you have SDS "model name" (first line) will be empty - in normal case it shows "N7100", Odin won't work, it will say something PIT error.

[Q] Bricked phone or Screen Problem?

Here is the problem. I install a custom rom. it's working properly. but a few days ago, it says weather widget stop working. and i uninstall it using titanium backup. but after a few days later, the screen is not turning on but it got sound from the lockscreen and opening app drawer. i tried few ways. then, it's working again. but just now, it happened again. screen off. the boot and lockscreen can be hear properly. is it the rom problem or my screen problem? if it is my screen problem, how do i claim warranty since the device already rooted. please help me. this really made me sad. :crying:
Install stock rom via odin then root it again then install traingel away to rest counter then remove root
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
when you reboot, can you see those white words(galaxy note 2 etc.)? if you cant see those, i am sorry, but it is going to be a screen problem.
you rooted it, but it doesnt matter because they wont be doing anything with your system. they will just change the LCD, so no need to unroot it.

nope. cant see a thing. ohh. but, if they fix the screen, they must turn it on and see wether it's working or not. i use joeldroid and when booting, after galaxy note 2 word, google logo will come up. will they notice that the device is rooted or not?
If your screen is dead, they can't check if the phone is rooted until they fix the screen
Even if they fix the screen, they will most likely be too lazy to check if its rooted.
I once completely destroyed my partitions on my old galaxy by entering a Motorola command in Terminal, + it was rooted
I got my money back

WOW. I didn't know someone can be an asshole this big.
I don't know man.....i don't think so :/
You could try removing the marker with something, and then try sending to the Store you bought it from.
The thing is, with a phone this expensive, no one will give up easily, if it was a 100-200$ phone you would get a replacement no doubt...
the sam but another problem...
Hey i have the Problem that i cant see anymore BUT i dont root or modified my Phone and i can see a colorful screen.
What do you think. is the screen damage or is it the GPU chip?

yeah. i was totally shocked when i found that written at the battery slot. Guess i'll jus go fix the lcd only since there is sound coming when i push the power button. they said it will cost about 400$ to repair it. 200$ for the lcd and 200$ for the main board. i think they just want it to be original just as new. that's why they want to change the main board. what do you think?

Is it still under warranty?
If your note 2 is not under warranty, I suggest you go to download mode and flash a stock ROM with Odin. If that's not the case you should probably send it back to Samsung, your carrier or whoever you send phones back to . ^^

Yes, its still under warranty. I will bring my phone to phone repair shop tomorrow and see if somebody can fix it.
I just never flashed any type of ROM to my phone, so scared to make it even worse, but thanks for suggestion anyway
Hopefully you'll get it fixed under your warranty. It doesn't look like it's not the LCD's fault as it seems to be working when you get to download mode. So don't let them rip you off on a new LCD.

Sudden Death Syndrome
Hi there
This is known as Sudden Death Syndrome, it's caused by a faulty memory chip. My Note2 just came back from repairs for this problem, they replaced the PC board and all seems to be well now.
It will have to go in for repairs.
Hello. How much did you pay for repair or it was under warranty and you had nothing to pay?
Thank you.

having the same problems... going Samsung Service Center tomorrow.
i had the same problems, freezing and rebooting in download mode, i was sure i had to throw phone away, then i was almost ready to bring the phone to assistance, but first i decided to try to flash other roms just for fun like aosp, leaked etc and also i reflashed different versions of mj5 bootloader found on different posts many times (now i'm on revhd23)... and... surprise surprise the phone seems reborn... very fast smooth and no freeze, sorry i don't have any explanation for this!

I tried restarting and factory reset, no hope :/ any other fix for this or ill go for a refund but i love the tablet, other than that issue everything else works though that is more than enough to annoy me :|

Try to flash your tab
Not normal. Go get one that's not faulty while you can.

[Q] Please help before buying a new motherboard!!!!

Hello,
I have a note 2 all of the sudden the phone is dead. The screen is black but I can accept calls normal because I know where to press to answer the call... I even flashed the stock ROM on a black screen,
someone tried to connect his motherboard N7100 (International Note 2) to mine and it booted fine so I know it's not a screen issue. I really want to know if there a solution to fix it or buy a motherboard...
Thanks,
