[HELP] SM-T210R just rooted and stuck on recovery loop [SOLVED] - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just bought the tablet for my son, decided to root and rom it with the KidzRom, Had an issue with one of the root systems for the sm-210R, so I tried the single file one, Odin did push it through, and i got recovery... Problem is that when ever the tab reboots it puts me back to recovery, I've tried different recoveries, same thing.
Tried searching for a solution for a few hours now, and just need some help.
-thankyou in advance

Do a factory reset in recovery, then flash the rom again.

tried that, even tried flashing different roms, and factory reset with cwm and twrp, thanks though

solved it, had to update the firmware to pre root (1.1g file) via odin, installed cwr through odin, while in recovery had to do the m1 kernel, finally after that was able to wipe and install kidz rom. :highfive:
thanks for all the help guys

[Q] Softbrick/bootloop

So, I decided to root my wifes Galaxy S2 due to it being a little older and to get more out of it for her, however I seem to have got my self stuck in a bootloop.
-Downloaded Odin, flashed CWM recovery and rooted phone all relatively easy and with no issues. However I wanted to get CM 10.1.2 stable cuase thats what i run on my Nexus 4. Before i flashed, i ran a Nandroid backup from cwm and did a wipe data/factory reset and rebooted. this is where i got the boot loop, on the T-mobile screen. Tried restoring from the back up, and still boot looped. tried flashing CM and it boot looped on the CM splash screen. On the CM forum it seems someone else had this issue and that kinda how i got pointed here. CM Admin suggested downloading an updated Bootloader. I honestly looked all over this site and couldnt find ANYTHING. I can still get into Download mode, and Recovery mode with no issues.
Thanks for your time

U need to flash the newest twrp recovery, a lot of ppl have been having issues with cwm lately so my advice would be to DL the twrp tar file and use that to root and not cwm

I will try that, I use TWRP for my Nexus 4. That being said, do i have to go back to stock and unroot, or just flash TWRP and attempt to install CM?

[Q] Softbricked my Tab 3 7

Hello there, I was trying to update my Tab's firmware to 4.2.2 following the instructions listed on a website I can't link to because I'm a new member. I found it by googling "update sm-t210 to 2.4.4". It's on a website called techbeasts.
I was using CWM recovery 6.0.4.7. I installed the first file, listed at the bottom of the page, the "Kernel.zip file". It installed using CWM just fine, it's a small file only about 6MB. The second file I tried to install, the "T110 on T210/210R.zip" file failed. It gave me something about 5 out 4 expected args and didn't work.
After this my tablet would not boot, it would show the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (not the animation) and then go black.
Next I tried to reflash using the 4.1.2 firmware from SamMobile using ODIN. This failed on the modem.bin. After this I couldn't boot in in recovery mode or ODIN mode. All I get is the, "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue...". ODIN still recognizes my tablet.
So I'm stuck. I've spent all night googling to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
So I managed to use ODIN to get CWM reworking. But I've hit another brick wall. Now that I've got something to work with anyone have any ideas?

Install the latest CWM (6.0.4.8) and it you should be able to flash the rom correctly.
Thanks gr8note,
So I did what you suggested, I installed 6.0.4.9 and then lo and behold, the error went away! The ROM installed with no errors. One issue is the device no longer registers with adb, but fortunately the ROM was already on my device. The device is still discoverable with ODIN on my PC.
My new problem is now I can't get it to boot in to anything but recovery or ODIN. Even if I just use the power button it boots to recovery. I just got home from work and will be searching for a solution, but any more help would be appreciated!
Thanks again.

Flash the kernel again.
Sent from my SCH-I605
Hi gr8nole, thank you for getting back to me. I've seen your name all over these forums searching for a solution.
So I have reflashed the kernel I had originally downloaded, and also tried the blackhawk kernel I found on these forums for the sm-t210. It still will only boot to recovery. I have flashed several different recoveries to my tablet. I have tried two different ROMs - one from the website I mentioned above and the stock ROM from SamMobile - and it still will only boot to recovery or ODIN.
If you had a different kernel in mind a link would be greatly appreciated. Beyond that, any other advice you can give me?
hey hey hey

j,
a while back i read a warning about sammobile images being screwy and to avoid them.
this was the image i used when i first got my tab http://d-h.st/users/Jamison904?fld_id=21912 the 1.13 gb img not the dump
hope this helps

Hey thanks for replying.
I ended up doing a huge facepalm when I figured out my problem. I was attempting to install the stock ROM like the other ROMs...through a recovery. You can imagine my frustration when I finally realized it was not a normal ZIP but instead had to be extracted and ODIN'D.
Duh.

[Q] Bricked? Note 8 GT-N5110 stuck on boot loop

Hi all,
I've looked through several of the existing threads on the Note 8 and I've not gotten anywhere yet. I had the device happily rooted and working for months and then, stupid me, I used ROM manager to flash a new ROM this morning and on boot, it's stuck on the logo.
I CAN get to the recovery menu, but reset to factory default does nothing. I have wiped the cache from recovery and then tried to factory reset again; still stuck on logo at boot.
I can also get to download mode and have tried using KIES 2.6 (since KIES 3 is for Android 4.4.2 and up) and every time I try to do the update firmware/recovery, it starts, stops and says 'there is a problem with the download file' and then it quits.
I have tried using ODIN 3.7 and a few different recovery files but although it will say 'passed', on reboot, it's stuck on the logo.
Can someone help me, please? This is the only tablet I own and I really need it to not be a door stop
:crying:
not bricked yet, maybe. for now, try to download latest firmware from sammobile.com for n5110 and use odin to flash it.
about the factory reset of course it would still boot loop, you are trying to factory reset a bootlooped rom so it doesnt matter. you should flash a new zip through recovery.

Hi Mr.201,
Thank you for the suggestion. Question, when you say download the latest firmware, will it matter if I don't use the original? I ask because I've been trying to find the original firmware (stock) and while I've found many sites with GT-N5110 FW's, they are all coded for other countries; I can't seem to find one for US. So, if I use a newer firmware, will that work?
I can still get to recovery mode and download mode. I don't know if USB debugging is on, though, which I hope won't matter at this point. I can't remember if it was on when it died on me.
I appreciate your advice! Hopefully, I can get this thing going again. That would certainly make me a happy camper!
For some reason, the US version is labelled as "Cellular South" but in general, any 5110 rom will work, although there are some quirks with wifi frequencies between the North American and European roms.
My Note 8 got stuck in a boot loop. It was rooted/custom recovery/custom ROM. I tried some of things you did, and nothing worked. I ended up downloading and installing the ODIN one click recovery/un-rooted stock image from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2773712
This restores everything to stock (including the recovery). After flashing, it was still stuck in the boot loop. I booted into the factory recovery, and did a data wipe. After doing that, my note is working now. So ... doing this might be worth a try.
May I make a suggestion when flashing firmware... If you are flashing to something notreviously installed on the device. First flash with philz recovery and perform a full wipe for flashing new ROM. This way everything is clean for your flash to work properly.
A factory reset is not going to work as well for the new flash to take.

Yes
Try reflashing the stock rom with Odin but do not check auto reboot. When the rom has been successfully flashed, remove the USB cables from the phone, remove the battery, replace the battery, boot into recovery, factory wipe, and reboot.

Bootloop after trying to flash

Hello,
yesterday i tried to root my Nexus 5x with the "Nexus Root Toolkit"...
I got it rooted and after that i wanted to flash the "Pure Nexus" ROM. So after flashing the Pure Nexus ROM my nexus ended in bootloop
so i tried to go back to stock with the root roolkit but it got still bootloop ( untill the 4 dots then reboot )
so i rooted it again with the toolkit for twrp and tried to flash Pure Nexus... again bootloop
I can boot into the bootloader and recovery, I also tried to do a factory wipe or also formating data and flash again. But nothing worked
I don`t know what to do now and hope you can help me! :crying:
It's a better deal to use ADB and FASTBOOT commands to root your Nexus rather than a root toolkit.
Make sure you boot into TWRP and head over to Wipe and Advanced Wipe and wipe off System, Data, Cache and Dalvik-cache and then attempt flahsing your ROM.
Also.make sure your TWRP is the latest OFFICIAL build, which I believe is 3.0.2.2. You can find this at TWRP's official website.
