I've been wondering about this since I got the phone.
The battery cover seems very much unftting with the camera, am I the only experiencing this? It kinda annoys me in the long run. If a "fix" is available I'd be happy to know!

Mine is perfect and I haven't heard anyone else with this. Does it affect your pics?
I would bring it back if it does. Maybe a dodgy factory build.
Do you mean that the cover around the camera can be "pressed in"? If that's the case then that is a common thing. If you don't like it you can try sticking some folded piece of paper with sticky tape under the cover under that area.

Good point I have that too. I thought he meant it was affecting pictures because some of the lens was covered.
I'm on my third phone and the second was like this. Drove me nuts. My third and first fit snug. I would take it back and ask for another cover to see if it is the cover or a phone problem. I used a heat gun on the cover to try and form it closer to the camera with a little success but wasn't perfect.

Thanks. much better formulated, I was having a hard time trying to describe the situation.
It annoys me deeply, and I'll try with the folded paper.
I'm trying to locate a wallet case for my Note that has a standard Samsung back case, not a full backside with a plastic cradle to hold the phone. Those cases makes it hard to get the stylus out. I have looked high I have looked low but I haven't looked right because I can't find anything like that.
Any and all tips are deeply appreciated.

ebay is great for these, just search N7000 flip case!
The ones I locate all have a simple cover, not pockets for bills and credit cards.

I also looked for something like this, but found nothing. It's either a choice of a replacement back panel with plain flip cover, or a credit card wallet with a cradle.
The only alternative might be to adapt one with a replacement back panel, perhaps by fixing some credit card sleeves to inside of the cover. The hinge might not allow enough extra play for this though.
you can actually ask your local shoe repairshop if he can make one from the one you have. I think he can. Its a question of adding leather on the front so it still fits, an opening for bills and a series of slots to hold cards.
Do note there are reports of cards pressing on screen that could damage/leave prints on screen and on screen protector.
my experience not in making but in use is that the original flap breaks after a while. Not sure, but whennit does, it looks like cupboard lmao

As I suspected then. Quite vexing. Seems like such a winning construction. Keep it thin enough for your pocket, yet add the function off s wallet. Outside cards and cash everything from my old wallet is now in my Note.

Indeed an excellent idea. Now if I could only go back 30 years when we still had a cobbler in town
Kidding aside I shall see if it is feasible, bring the original backside and explain as good as I can.

Just bought my Note 2. The battery came half full so it's charging right now.
The first thing I noticed was the impossibly thin back cover and wondered how many people have managed to break theirs...
It'd be fine if it were made of carbon fiber, but plastic this thin will eventually break, no matter how malleable it is. For crying out loud, I've seen sheets of paper that are thicker than this!
How many of you have broken it already?
It's not going to break under normal use. If you take it off and bend it 90 degrees maybe, but it's not just going to spontaneously shatter on you.
Most people use a case so it wont break from dropping.
Ive never felt like it was going to break when removing or replacing it either.
As long as your not trying to break it, it wont break from normal use.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
The thinner it is the less chance it will break, crack or split.under normal use. I have had mine for just over 3 months and have removed it maybe 10 times. It still loks like new. You should be more worrried about the front anyway. A new case cost buttons in comparrison with the screen or digitizer.
People said the same thing about the galaxy s 2 back cover when that came out. Check out this video of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fu5qy6gffbs&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Samsung's been using this stuff for years for a simple reason - it's light, and strong.

Been using s2 before this and never heard of broken backcover. You would be surprise how malleable and strong it is.
Now a broken screen is another matter that you should be more concern about.

I changed the back cover. Cheap and cool.

My god that is super blingy
i dropped mine from like 15 cm from the ground went it came flying out my bag, it cracked, you can barely notice it
but once i know it's there it ****ing bothers
Well buy a replacement, they're cheap.
Every 2-3 days I replace my battery with a charged one and I have done this with my note N7000 as well as my current N7100. This had led me to zero issues, not even a piece of the battery casing on either phone have broke off. These were designed very well where they will hold up to more than your everyday usage.

Just a quick heads up for battery cover buyers:
The item listing doesn't say whether this cover contains the NFC antenna like the Samsung covers do. I know some of the aftermarket covers don't have it. Anyone wanting to retain NFC functionality should be sure and check this before ordering an aftermarket Note 2 battery cover.

As it's a metal back cover I don't think the NFC will work.
Someone posted in the accessories section saying they had bought a metal back cover with NFC, however upon testing it the NFC didn't actually work.
For someone like me in the UK though that's hardly an issue, NFC isn't widely used here, the only use we have for it now is if we want to use NFC tags, and that's about it.
FWIW, I have an Epic 4G that uses the same thin plastic back. I've had that phone for 2 years and there are no cracks, damage to the phone or anything. Actually looks pretty darn new, save for where some of the clearcoat is coming off around the speakerhole. Of all the things to be concerned about on this phone, the back is the least of my worries.
Well, for the most part....
I just completed the white digitizer/glass swap. The flex cable and pinout is identical, and it works just as it should. It was pretty straightforward, and one of the easier glass replacements I've done. For future reference, the Glass is NOT bonded to the LCD... making the swap quite easy. I intended on doing a complete white housing swap, but after closely reviewing the photos I found the white F240 housing has a different pinout for the battery cover charging points. I may still order one and see if I am able to modify.
Feel free to ask any questions you may have. Enjoy.

So does this mean it's easy to fix a broken screen? I wonder how much the digitizer glass combo sells for?

Very easy if you're fairly adept at phone repair. They are $33 with shipping on eBay, which is where I purchased mine.

One thing worthy of noting... the glass/digitizer did NOT come with double sided adhesive when I ordered it. You'll need it because most of the old adhesive will pull off the the glass that you're replacing.

I actually have a roll of the 3M double sided adhesives that I ordered months back. It comes in handy when you're frequently repairing phones.
zounduser: I appreciate it. As I said before, my intention was to do the full white housing swap. However, they don't currently sell one for the E980. Only for the F240 from the research I have done. Aside from the battery cover pinout, the housings look identical. I will go ahead and order one to see if I am able to modify it to fit.
I will report back with the results.
Alright. I'll order it, and we'll see how it goes! I've repaired a couple of iPhone digitizers and screens along with a couple of Android tablets, but I have yet to modify an android phone. Can you PM me the link to where you bought the faceplate and such?

I just replaced my digitizer and it went fairly smooth, but after a week I'm getting dust intrusion between the glass and LCD. I was very careful to cut the adhesive to fit, but obviously not good enough. Therefore, does anyone know if "template/pre-cut" screen adhesive is available? I've looked on the internet and also called LG, but no luck.
My current plan is to eventually purchase an LCD/Digitizer combo and sell the old LCD and Digitizer, with the dust in it, to a repair shop or whoever needs it. But I'd much rather just get the adhesive if it's available.
Thanks for any help out there.

Is this $33 part a new/used take-off from a phone, new OEM stock, or an aftermarket part?
As to the F240 back, wouldn't there be a cutout for the TV antenna, or is the antenna cutout solely through the phones perimeter frame?

This was a new oem part. As for the F240 housing, that's a very good point. I am not able to find any pictures of the housing that is offered to see if that is the case.
OLLIESSHOP: At this time I do not believe anyone offers the precut adhesive. It seems quite a bit of trouble to sell your lcd/digi combo just to resolve that problem. You could always disassemble, clean lcd and back side of digitizer, reapply adhesive strips making certain there is a solid line all the way across below the speaker. I have no doubt the dust is entering through the speaker hole.

Thank you !!! I believe you're right, since the dust is in the top 1/4 of the screen. I relooked at the pictures I took and it clearly shows I ownly put adhesive in the upper corners, not all the way across ... http://www.feelc.org/LGOptimusGProDigitizerReplacement.pps (2nd page from the end). Thanks again, that really helped.
I'm looking for a replacement battery door (stock battery) that is unobtrusive, doesn't reduce signal or GPS, and is a bit less slippery than the stock one.
I found one with pleather texture in black on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Leather-Housing-Battery-Door-Back-Cover-for-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-2-II-N7100-/190901629604?pt=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&hash=item2c729fb2a4]
The ad states Fit Note 2 / N7100 global version only
I'd thought the outer parts of the N7100 and I317 were identical (so this might work), but maybe I got that wrong(?)
So, any idea if this'll fit and / or got a different replacement door that'll work. Really just looking for textured plastic like my ancient Galaxy SII.
Thanks!

Ah! there's an NFC antenna in the battery door (and I'm an idiot for not having noticed). Sam did something similar but the GPS antenna with the S4G and the GPS on that phone was a constant letdown.
It also makes sense that this would differ between the various Note2 versions as they vary in radios, so different antennas.
Yes, if you wouldn't mind checking - I use NFC tags for some Tasker actions. I'm guessing the contacts won't line up, hence the eBay seller's comment.
Thanks!

Well... when I said "I'd", I meant "You'd" ...
But I will offer this - here's a similar listing for the stock back cover for the i317 (compare this to the picture in the seller's listing):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Battery...17-Grey-with-NFC-/130859205705#ht_2692wt_1273
Note that it has two metal contacts lacking from the international version. I don't know if that matters but given that they are integrated with the antenna, and the phone has corresponding contacts, I would expect so.
Maybe a slim case with a similar surface material would be another option?
Or you can mod your back cover.
Sand the back a bit and spray rhino liner on it ( it's grip)
Or use a fabric

Now my plan to mod the back a tad. I was going to use plastidip http://www.eastwood.com/plasti-dip-aerosol-11-oz-black.html.
I hadn't thought of rhino liner as I thought that was bulk application.
[edit]
Actually, I think I'll just sand it down with semi-coarse grit, say 300, and see if that's non-slip enough as-is.
