[Q] Paranoid Android 3.99 RC2 Laggy? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello,
I've been using PA 3.99 RC2 and Faux123 kernel for sometime now, and just recently I've noticed some lag throughout the UI.
for example, when pressing the app drawer it hangs for about half a second (not that long I know but its a little bothersome) and when scrolling the home screens it'll drop a few frames.
it there anyway to force the 60 FPS lock so that the UI it always at 60 FPS no matter what even when sitting idle on a home screen?
this lag has been driving me so crazy that I've reflashed (clean from 4.3 factory image) the ROM and kernel 3 times now trying to rid it of the lag with zero success (also tryed cache and dalvik wipes and it makes no difference).
I've also tried other kernels (trinity, franco) and they just make it worse.
any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks!
EDIT: Fixed! fsync was turned on. turning it off fixed the issue.

[Q] CM7.1, Defy gets utterly slow on occasions

This is the fourth occurrence, my Defy will randomly become unable to rotate, become slower than it ever has, and take 4+ seconds just to unlock/lock. The CRT screen is like molasses, and looks horrible when slowed down this much. The phone becomes useless in this state, and sometimes even a reboot will not fix it. It is overclocked ondemand. Typically, it is very responsive and everything except randomly losing an entire connection, works fine. I have been unable to pin point the cause of the problem, it's usually when I'm not even using the phone and it's been sitting there for a half hour or so.
I have had plenty of problems before with the phone, but none like this. This has happened only during my use of CM7.1.
Try wipe cache and dalvik cache
Motorola Defy CM7 RC 1.5 OC 1GHz
Which version you on?
Try updating to the latest one thats coming out today, or the nightly 111110
I sometimes get that with some nightlys, where its like slow-mo, and i need to pull the battery, sometimes still slow afterwards.

[Q] Framerate issues?

Whenever I play a game, whether it be Temple Run, or Fruit Ninja, my framerate drops to around 30 (rough estimate) whenever I touch the screen. If I don't touch anything, it runs perfectly, around 60FPS. I've tried re-flashing the ROM and Kernel multiple times, and letting it settle for a few hours before trying, but I always get the same result. The lag doesn't seem to happen before I install any apps, but an Android phone without apps is a bit pointless. I'm hoping that there's another cause to my problem.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
I'm running AOKP Build 34 with Franco's kernel, Milestone 3
Stock CPU values
Stock ICS Launcher
Changing the CPU governor does nothing to alleviate the framerate drop
Thanks for any help!

When last time u.have done FULL wipe? If been awhile u should,i have same setup and its running perfect
I always do a full wipe (wipe cache twice, wipe system twice, and wipe data twice) before installing new ROMS. Could it be because I forgot to wipe Dalvik? Or is that already part of the cache partition?
EDIT: Apparently, the cause of the lag was the "Show touches" toggle, in the developers section of the settings menu. It doesn't lag on my Skyrocket, so I'm a bit curious as to why it lags my GNex. Can someone else verify this?

Very laggy Sprint Gnex

I have the Sprint Gnex. It has been laggy with every ROM I have installed. Lag can happen throughout the day to a couple times a week. It is fine for a week or two when new. I went from stock to teambaked black to stock ota 4.2.1(whatever the latest Sprint OTA is) to commotio B57 4.3 then did the update to B59 9-19? Bluetooth using GooManager. Except for the last update I always did a complete erase when loading a new ROM and the only data I carried over was from SMSBackup and Restore App.
Sometimes when loading the camera the camera buttons will be at the top left for several seconds and the screen black when in portrait mode . Restarting multiple times, airplane mode on/off, and overclocking dont change anything. Every button press will take several seconds to load, I never get a low ram warning. Only several apps are used mainly daily.
Am I doing something wrong? How do I stop the lag?
Weird. I have had mine lag from time to time, but a reboot freshens it up and so does Advanced Task Killer. I find things running snappy and quick when I have around 100-200 MB free of RAM. When I get down to ~30 or so MB free, things slow to a crawl like you described. I wonder if you have a bunch of apps running in the background...anything atypical there? (if you go to Settings | Apps | swipe over to Running). How much free RAM do you currently have while having those symptoms?
Also I have found the Facebook app is always running even though I have all abilities for it to sync turned off. I'm so close to uninstalling it and using the browser.
I had lag phone too (Sprint Gnex). I put 10.2CM on it and it runs lag free.

Everytime that I have looked at the Apps folder before there has been 80-100MB free. There are no cached processes but last night I watched it for a couple minutes and it dropped to 30MB. I noticed about 50% of the apps showed restarting all at once. There are 16 Apps running with 8 being system processes. Facebook takes up the most at 40MB. On a fresh restart it dropped as low as 100MB as various apps loaded then exited and it is now hovering at 152MB. 10 mins later with only disabling notifications for RetailMeNot and Google Offers and disabling the Apex Launcher it is down to 77MB with 36MB in cashed processes.
I might try a stable CM like user readable mentioned.

[Q] Freezing and Terrible Lag On any ROM (Including Stock)

My S3 has recently been extremely laggy and will be unresponsive for up to 5 minutes at a time. Occasionally, it will reboot, but usually it will just freeze and stay there. I haven't installed any new apps and I kept an eye on my CPU temps and clock speeds. Seems like it is always running at 1.5 GHz whenever I touch the screen and stays there until the screen is turned off. CPU temps also reached as high as 69 Celsius and cooled down to a constant 47-50 Celsius (which I believe is unusually high).
I've ODINed back to stock NF1 and NH2 firmware, and the lag still persists. I've flashed SlimKat 9, CM11 M12, and it seems the 4.4 ROMs freeze more often than the CM12.1 0516 nightly I'm currently running, but all ROMs I use all freeze up. On 4.4.4, I used LeanKernel v9.16 with no overclock/overvolt and interactiveX. On 5.1, I'm using the stock kernel.
Could my hardware be damaged? I can't tolerate this freezing issue anymore, especially since each reboot drains battery and will lead to another hang 50% of the time. I actually contemplated tossing my phone against the wall.
Does it hang from a fresh flash without any third party apps installed? If so, then it is probably a hardware issue

Just flashed the CM12.1 nightly as a clean install. Ran all apps and did not experience any hangs, will do further testing to confirm the issue is gone. Seems like your advice worked and I should be ashamed because I troubleshoot computers and it's what I do/recommend when a computer is slow.

Screen Tearing on VK810 with LOS 14.1

I installed invisiblek's Lineage OS build from here: can't post links...just google 'invisiblek vk810' (not a recommendation, just a reference).
So far it runs great, but I get some occasional bouts of screen tearing....at least that's the best term for it. I googled 'flickering' and 'blinking' but the descriptions don't quite match what I'm seeing, and the 'tearing' results are more representative. Basically, the screen will flicker for a millisecond and on-screen items will just kinda jump around. It's as if the screen were torn from the tablet and very quickly moved to another position and then back.
The 'tearing' threads suggest enabling 'Disable H/W Overlays' but that didn't seem to make a difference. I can't reliably reproduce the glitches and I've tried disabling hardware items, factory resets and reflashing, but they keep coming back. They don't seem to happen at all during full-screen video playback, and they sometimes come in bunches (I'll read for 15 min with nothing and then I'll have several over 15 sec). The keyboard seems to be particularly problematic and it doesn't matter if it's the default keyboard or an app. This doesn't happen in twrp or any other roms (I've tried a few versions of cm 12.1). Brightness, adaptive brightness and live display don't seem to matter.
This rom is silky smooth and I'd love to stay on it, but the tearing is annoying, and I'm worried it might damage the screen. Any thoughts?
Following up...
The problem seems to be a problem with cpu throttling. I get no screen tearing as long as 2 or more cores are in use. Once it drops down to one online core, I start to see tearing. This only happens in 7+ roms. I've tried a 6.0 CM rom and 2 5.1 roms...no tearing. I've tried 4 7.1 roms and they all had tearing problems when the cpu throttles to one core (side note: there is only one (that I know of) 7.1 rom for the vk810. I flashed 3 different v500 (AOSP, crDroid, Official Lineage) roms and they all booted.. I'm probably going off-topic on my own thread, but it doesn't take much to get the vk810 running on a v500 rom).
So, I disabled MPDecision in the kernel and the tearing is gone. The only problem is that all 4 cores are always on. I've got them throttling down to 384mhz when the load drops, but I'm taking a hit to my battery life (which is good....the rom deep sleeps well). Does anyone know if MPDecision can be configured to leave CPU 0 & 1 on at all times?
