I'm trying to install Hyperdrive RLS10. The flash instructions say to install an AT&T build prop and I've also seen users mention that you will need to fix the google client database for the rom to function properly on AT&T. I can not locate any AT&T build prop to flash and do not know how to fix the google client database. Would anyone be able to help me so that I can get this rom working properly?

If you don't know how to do those, you might wanna look into flashing a AT&T ROM first and learn more about what you're attempting to do. (Google is a good friend)
P.S.: Please, don't double post.

I'm aware of what I'm attempting to do. The build prop on this rom needs to be edited or replaced or reflect AT&T since the rom base is Verizon. I'm not new to flashing roms; I've just never had to edit/replace a build.prop for a rom port from another carrier. I've searched google and the rom thread before posting this question. I'm just trying to see if anyone else from the community would be able to advise me what edits I would need to make to the build.prop or if they could help point me in the right direction for a build.prop zip that I could flash through TWRP. I expected the typical "why don't you just google it" response, but was hoping that someone would be helpful enough to actually assist me.
P.S.: I only started this thread after I realized my original post was in a thread with little to no activity.

I didn't mean to sound like ''Why don't you just google it''. You gave really low information on your experience and such, therefor, I made a safe suggestion.
Basically, you have to change the phone model to SGH-I747 in the build.prop file with something like notepad.
As for the other part, I have no idea, and this time, google will actually be helpful as I'm sure people attempted this before.

I was able to locate the build.prop edits buried in a thread about google wallet. I'm still not sure about the other part, but I have the rom up and running on at&t LTE with no issues. I appreciate your patience. I try to search as thoroughly as I can, unfortunately, work often gets in the way.

Clearing client database means clearing data and cache in the play store app. That's what worked for me on with that issue...or loading another Google account then deleting it then adding your main one.
Verizon Galaxy S3 running RLS10 - call echo issue
Hey, first of all I wanted to say to the developers of the Hyperdrive RLS ROM, this has become one of my preferred ROMS - great stability, battery life, etc. I just upgraded from RLS9 to RLS10. FYI, I always wipe everything prior to installing a ROM. Anyway, installation went off without a hitch and the ROM runs great, but since I upgraded to this ROM, I am getting an echo with every single call even with bluetooth. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue, and if there's a fix for it? Would appreciate any feedback! Thanks, and thank you to the developers for all the work you do.

the echo is just on your end, correct?
go to settings >accessibility and make sure turn off all sounds is not checked to begin with. now go to settings > sound and make sure your volume levels are correct and sound is turned on.
also, phone > menu > Call settings > additional settings and then uncheck noise reduction. some people have reported less echo and clearer calls with this turned off.

A few have reported the same issue on the thread but no real solution beyond hit speaker on then off and it goes away. Reason that works ? I have no clue.
Hello everyone,
I didn't see a thread for this and I am just sick and tiered of not being able to post in dev threads, I figured I would attempt to make something useful for newer users of using AOSP ROMs.
I noticed that when using AOSP ROMs, the 5GHz band won't work, I can see the network but can not connect to it, and in some ROMs I can get it to take the Key but then says something like disabled and still doesn't work. Crazy thing is this is something that is not unique to this Device (the i317), I had a i777 (Galaxy S2) before that and it did the same exact thing. What is even more crazy is the fix is exactly the same for both phones.
While making this post I am going through a wip and re-install of my ROM (PAC-Man in this case, but does it with all other AOSP ROMS)
Some information befor I start, 5GHz is important to me as I use it at home, the 2.4GHz range in my area is quite crowded and I am the only 5GHz network in the area so it works better for me.
Anyways here we go;
Step 1, Install your ROM like normal, once you're signed in to your Google Account download Root Explorer (or something of equivalence) Once that is done proceed to step 2.
(NOTE: If you already have your ROM installed you can skip Step 1)
Step 2, In Root Explorer go to System --> etc --> wifi, once here you're going to see various files. Were looking for "nvram_net.txt" and "nvram_net.txt-murata".
These are the two files were going to modify.
Step 3, Hold your finger on "nvram_net.txt" until the popup window for Options comes up, hit Open With and then select Text Editor. From here you're going to look for a line of code thats "ccode=GB" this is needing to be changed to "ccode=US". Once that has been changed then hit the back button and hit Yes on the save box. This will automatically make a backup of the original file.
Step 4, Were going to do the same thing to the "nvram_net.txt_murata" so open it with the Text Editor and look for the same line of code "ccode=GB" and change it to "ccode=US", save the file.
Step 5, Reboot your phone and once back up go into settings and you are now able to use your 5GHz network.
I hope this helps someone and I hope that one day we won't have to keep changing these settings to get 5GHz working on AOSP ROMs, have fun Everyone!!!!
PS. If you all want screenshots I can do them but bare in mind I would have to wipe my phone again and take them during the process. The instructions should be clear and easy to follow without them.
Excellent....
Many thanks....this will help several people out I'm sure.
Thank you...g

Thank You!!
I need to add something to it, if you ever update your ROM you need to do it again just start from step two.
Thanks for the post. I'm sure those who need 5ghz support appriciate it.
I just saw this post and checked. The latest CM10.1 for today (20130701 build) has the correct US settings. Not sure about other AOSP. However you should mention it to the devs of each one you find it in so they can fix it.
Holy ****balls. I just have to say that.
I'm using Galaxy S3 i9300, been running Slimbean 4.2.2 build 8 flawlessly when I came across that situation where I can't connect to 5G wifi. since then I tried searching for a fix but failed. So i opted to cm13, with utter disappointment with its lag and bugs. And still, hoping for a miracle, i flashed my old recovery back, trying to give it one more chance. Lo and behold, you've given me the fix that I've been searching for all these while. But instead of just that two files, I've changed all nvram_net files ccode with US instead GB. Reboot. And now I'm replying this on my workplace 5ghz wifi. Thanks dude. Very much thanks.

I read about an omnirom available for our captivate glides running 4.4.2
Anyone tried running this yet? How stable is it?
I found the link here: http://true-android.blogspot.ca/2014/03/update-samsung-captivate-glide-sgh-i927.html
I also dont know, for any rom that has separate gapps, when would you flash those? After or before the new rom? at the same time? Like, if after a ROM flash it automatically reboots, it will boot up with no gapps and likely not run - correct?
Was just curious about how buggy it is. Even if down the road when things are smoother, im excited to see if i can get this one running!

you can find more information here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541182
Gapps is included. You must install rom zip first, because it formats system partition.
Official gapps doesnt compatible with our phone, I think its better not installing.
hmm..

I am using omni ROM . . somehow I find it less buggy than cm 11
Nevertheless I would wanna give my thanks and even though I am pointing out bugs . . I really do appreciate his work .. A lot
Omnirom is very very stable has all if not most of the theming features except for trebuchet launcher
//It is a bit more battery consuming but I like it cause I am able to run my processor at 1.4ghz which is sweeeet!!!
//It has issues with OK Google functionality the audio is lagged and irritating
//The Google experience launcher is not built for it
//It has issues with Google maps 7 but there is a fix to have 6th version to back you up when needed
//it has issues with Skype and the fix is work in progress I guess..
//GPs is a bit slow but works
//WiFi direct crashes for me
Once in a blue moon the phone might rebot itself cause of a crash..
Though considering WiFi tethering , 3g switching, link2sd ,memory swapping
Ksm everything is working really try it . . its an amazing experience from an amazing phone
Can someone tell me the difference between wifi direct, wifi sharing, and wifi sharing manager??
Wifi itself is working in 4.4.2 right?
Also, were your keyboard backlights working automatically or did you ened qwerty led?
is qwerty led something that needs to be running all the time. or "ongoing" in the top drawer?
Wi-fi direct is a type of communication between two devices, similar to Bluetooth, so you can send files. I never used this, even when transfering big files from one phone to another, it's better to use an USB OTG cable - the connection speed is lightning fast!
Don't know what you mean about wi-fi sharing. Maybe wi-fi tethering (hotspot) - it's when you share your phone 2G/3G internet connection via wi-fi. This thing is working fine. Wi-fi itself is working, of course.
As for keyboard light: when tested OmniROM, I used liblight solution, but the qwertyled using is simple too: just launch it and you're done. While the service is running, keyboard light will work.
Now I'm on CM 11, and I have 11 days of uptime already, I recommend this ROM (but that's just my taste). In CM 11 keyboard backlights are working from the box, no need for qwertyled.
Also, I looked at the link you posted, to the true-android blog. Please, don't use the guide one can found there, it's awful. You can't install 4.4.2 ROM with recommended 2.6.3.0 TWRP, the correct one is 2.6.3.1 from bubor here, and you don't need any gapps beside included in the ROM.
Better use this guide from stormdude124: [UPDATED][2014][How-to]Everything you need to know and do to your Captivate Glide, it's updated, it's verified and there's no ads!

Can you use a cyanogen mod rom with clockworkmod recovery installed? i remember trying cyanogenmod with my phone and couldnt get it to work.
Just flash TWRP 2.6.3.1 from link above, it's superior to clockworkmod recovery (CWM) in all ways: touch interface, working backups with compression, charging support and it allows to install KitKat roms. With CWM you can install ROMs up to android 4.3, so, you still can install CM 10.1.3 or CM 10.2 with CWM, but not CM 11.

Hey yeah the difference btw wifi direct and sharing is that in wifi direct you connect two devices directly to transfer files...
in wifi sharing you need to host a web adress to share your files
as a result in wifi sharing you host a list of your stuff on a web adress(local) which gets downloaded by other devices on your wifi connection
and a wifi sharing manager can either do this (host ur files using an ip) or my personal favorite is astro which can acess my pc's sharing folder over wifi which is preety awesome>..unlimited storage
also note that in a wifi sharing manager you cannot recieve files easily . . maybe airdroid but it can only run on a pc
wifi sharing apps are airdroid and other file managers like root browser
wifi direct requires specific drivers and libs... i guess.. hence not all devices can do it ..
anyway you should go for cm 11 or omni both are incredibly stable with an occasional hiccup.. which is occasional heh
also would suggest that if you do proceed to install please follow from the developer sources on xda rather than some blog etc
Hi Guys, I thought I would make a thread here as i can not seem to be able to find a solution. Rooted my device obviously, everything is fine until I installed a "Kernel" (cant remember author) to overclock mainly then encountered several problems. 1: Wi-Fi has become unstable. It seems to either crash my phone or signal disappears after my phone is on standby for a period of time (variable). 2: My Bluetooth just does not work. At all!! I have not done anything more to my device so the solution (hopefully). I forgot to mention that it is STOCK ROM. I do not wish to wipe my phone clean, i want to find a fix. Possibly a more stable kernel. Overclocking does not want to happen either but the "Governor's, I/O Scheduler's and Underclocking" do work. If there is anything more you guys need to know please ask!!
Looking forward to ideas

It not the root that causing the issue, it the kernel that tried. If I remember correctly there's only two kernel for the S4 mini that allows overclcoking, and one of them has stopped developerment since last year. That leaves the F4k kernel.
He has two different kernels: one for the AOSP/CM (custom) ROM another is also a bit outdated for the default Samsung TouchWiz ROM. Are you sure you've download the correct kernel?

Well to my knowledge I had used the correct kernel....... I never used one from here but I did find a website claiming that F4k has a stock over clocking kernel...... Unfortunately for the life of me I can not find this website. I've managed to overclock with success using a apk. I found on here (performance control) brilliant tool!! Is there any chance you able to post a link to this stock kernel you talk about so I can test myself and report back? Everything else is working without a problem apart from Wi-Fi and bluetooth.

So I've come to a conclusion after many weeks of testing and searching........ Unfortunately the overclock kernel for "TouchWiz" roms is unstable........ looking through forums I can see that F4k has only realised a "test" version....... on the other hand I have found a kernel from Vikinger (if spelt correctly) that's has fixed my issue and is working great... shame it isn't overclocked nor under and has no additional governors..... any one with ideas please feel free to share..... many thanks.

For me at least until my SW3 updates to Android 6 I see very little point in rooting my SW3... And as yet other than twrp and Kernel I don't feel there are enough mods etc or even Custom roms(if any) to even bother with rooting... On a phone there are huge benifits but a watch that relies on your phone for most everything I see no advantages yet...
I know what you mean, side loading apps is cool, and being able to change the DPI. Firefox and Google keyboard works well, cm cleaner works perfectly and helps uninstalling apps and es file manager is good for installing apps
Be honest. Do you really need a reason beside "it can be done"?

LOL I guess not. Andhopefull we will get Marshmallow soon and then will have a proper play!
Hopefully, it's been seen in the wild. Just need them to pull their fingers out.
So, while I agree that waiting to root until after 1.4 might be a good idea, here is what I did with root...
Direct wifi access with apps (mostly es File Explorer for on watch app install and uninstall)
Kernel experimenting and tweaking
Uninstall wear apps but keep host apps on phone
All done without a computer (after initial install and setup)
Run most terminal commands with a single tap (like changing dpi)
Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
currently i am running ubuntu in a chrooted environment on my watch (rooted device needed)
Link?
if this question was dedicated to me, my answer is:
I read posts about android and chrootet linux distros and used a similar technique to do this with my smartwatch 3. As soon as I am allowed to post a DEV-THREAD I will probably make a quick tutorial about it.
Looking forward to it. Not something I've looked at
