I am looking for a wireless way to port the new S-Note app from Note 3 to my Note8.0. Would appreciate instructions on how to accomplish this task.

I thought there were a bunch of ported apps already available on other threads... Just download and install, as they work on most all Jellybean devices. Not sure if they are on the Sony or HTC threads. I looked at about 6 or 8 available, and did not find any useful to my tastes.

TeamViewer release an app that allows remote control of your phone from your comptuer called QuickSupport. It says that it is only for Samsung phones and tablets.
The app stops itself from running on the Nexus. I contacted TeamViewer and they said that the Nexus isn't a Samsung device, it's a google device.
Does anyone know how liberate the program so it will work on the Nexus?

Anyone able to get past the firmware not compatible issue on custom roms yet?

not sure whats stopping them but it looks like they want to offer it to other devices as well besides samsung.
as far as stock firmware its probably a security issue where if your phone has root access and someone say gets your teamviewer password they can technically login, go nuts with you phone, and brick it and all while you never realizing what just happened
Touchpad can do anything!

Got the apk from the development thread and flashed it on my CM9 Touchpad....and it works!! This is a tool i have been waiting for for a long time. Can finally answer/fix my father in law's issue without having to see him!!!
EDIT:
tried to flash it on my EVO 3D running MeanRom...it connects and everything looks good...but it only displays a black screen.

Yeah, it works on my TF201 with Team EOS JB but not my Toro with a custom ROM. Crazy.

Edit: wrong thread
My nexus have stock fw by google, anyone have TeamViewer QS for stock not rooted rom by google?
It's a very useful app! Why they do not want to support all smartphones' manufactors?
Hello everyone,
I will be getting a galaxy s3 in the upcoming days so i went to search things about android and found that many people change roms of the phone. From what i understood, roms are like tweaked versions of android.
What i would like to ask you is if there is a place where i can see the most used roms, because for me is kinda confusing because i found a lot in google and dont really know which ones are better. For me i probably would like a rom that is similar looking to the stock one, but that does not have the useless stock apps.
Thanks for your time

samsung removes this feature for some reason.
So there is no workaround or other app?

civato reenabled it in his galaxy note 8 rom. i can't say for sure but if someone who understood that stuff better than me got a hold of his source they could figure out how to implement it once a custom recovery is made.
Application whihc replace this important feature
Is there an app that provides this functionality?
It is so importnat for sure for famility tablet use....
Anyone?
I would love an answer on this post as well reference an alternate app or any thoughts on if Samsung will alow this ever. If not I may have to return and go with the new Nexus 10 2
I don't think this can be implemented by a simple app, maybe a custom rom but i'd imagine that it'd be complicated. You could also install an AOSP ROM that would make it similar to the nexus 10 with that feature but you might lose all of the samsung add ins including the s pen. I don't know if Samsung will change its mind in the future but I wouldn't expect it.
This was a huge disappointment indeed. A key feature of new Android left out without a forewarning. Is there any good reason for this?
Probably eats up too much space.. this touchwiz experience is heavy on the device.

IMHO - missing this feature should be considered as any HW feature which this device come with or without....
I wonder if Samsung people are monitoriign the forum inputs?
You know.. i tried to get the formal support answer in regards and they jsut answered that the case opened... nothing for several days...
Its mine first Android and Samsung device - Disappointing... :crying:
Ok... if all you have to say is.. "Why didn't you search this?" or "Not another post about this." or "The best ROM is the one that YOU like, so just try them all"... then just save your time and move along, really, I'm not a noob, I've tried ROMs, I want some personal recommendations that meet specific needs...
Having said that, I have searched around, I've read through a bunch of ROM threads and tried 2 different ones... I'm in a hurry and need a few solid recommendations from the peeps...
I need a good solid/stable ROM WITH S-Note (I use it a ton at work and I just can't live without it right now, which is also the reason I'm in a hurry and can't afford to have days on end with only a semi-functional phone while testing different ROMs)... Also, I've tried one of the Note 3 ROMs that had the newest S-Note version and tried all sorts of things but couldn't get my old notes to work on the new S-Note app.
I just need something relatively new, fast, stable and with S-Note. I like themeing and add-on options and cool stuff so the more of that stuff the better.....
So... any ROMs with those requirements that you've used and are just crazy about?... Something you've been stuck on as a DD for while it's so good?
Thanks for the recommendations guys.. (I've been out of the ROM flashing thing for almost a year and just need a good place to start back)
Cheers,
Blakjak

Sounds like you're be better off keeping it safe with a rooted stock ROM
AT&T UCUBMK6 i317 *Deodexed* Stock CWM Note 2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2589891
Then load Xposed Frameworks
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
Then check out the modules
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327541
And see how you want to tweak/mod yourself.
The way I got Snote3 to work with old Notes was accidental. I signed into my Samsung account where I had them synced. It popped up asking if I wanted to import them, and it worked.
Thanks for the ideas.... I'm running Jedix20 right now and it seems to be pretty good but I'm gonna give the Xposed framework a try.

To run S-Pen features you got to install Touchwiz Roms, not AOSB, AOSP or others from Android Original Development. Last don't support the stylus and it's possibilities.

Can't as it is closed Samsung source so it can't be added to open source projects

People will never understand that AOSP Android =/= Samsung TW Android. If you wanted Samsung's S Pen features, you'll have to go for a stock Samsung ROM. AOSP wasn't designed with Samsung's proprietary features in mind.
It's so hard to explain it to people who refuse to understand.

Care to share which apps you used? I used to use AOKP, but then switched to Ditto Note 3 because I wanted the Samsung S Pen suite, HDMI out and a camera that actually works properly.

Just basic stuff ..... Also using gesture from within Rom to activate an App..... Prob nowhere near as good as stuff you get with DN3!
