Just download firmware from Sammobile and flash using Odin. Just a word of warning if you want to flash 4.3, it has KNOX and it is impossible to go back without triggering KNOX bit....

Hmm, I am not sure but I think that if you flash officail samsung ROM from Sammobile that it will flash even the stock recovery. I did that like once, that's why I'm not sure Can someone confirm?
i was sure Dr Ketan had a thread for it in the original android dev segment ...cant find it, it had the stock kernel, recovery, modem for MG1, had the prerooted MG1 file too
You should run triangle away before flashing the stock ROM. Flashing of stock ROM doesn't increase the counter.
Here is a link to a tutorial: http://galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-n...ootunbrick-galaxy-note-2-with-stock-firmware/
Ill give it a crack later. Dont suppose theres any possible way to know if my phone was voda branded or unbranded when I got it? It did come in a normal samsung box but thats all ive got to go on lol - this would matter as to which firmware I download. Id probably be safer getting the vodafone one hey.
Ha theres another thing, I cant downgrade lower than dmg1 can I?
I guess if the model is n7100 there is no difference if it was Vodafone branded or not ? You need this for something specific ?
Yeah, I think that Note 2 was released with 4.1.2 originally.

Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_Note_II corrected me It was released with 4.1.1 initially.
But I don't think it will make you a difference.

Warranty. So I cant exactly pretend to have a valid intact warranty if it doesnt have a valid rom on it. Mine came with alij rom on it which is vodafone and android 411. I think the next release was a dmc and then mk9.
Doesnt overly matter now anyway, the problem I was having has gone away now
Glad that you've managed to solve the problem.

Ok, this is what you asked for, it's "NON-HLOS.BIN
This is what has the KNOX pox in it, and this is why we cannot use it as of yet.
(until you fix it) :cyclops: Here is the direct download link:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/7hh7ny1tqiv854h/NON-HLOS.bin
Right now we need to use the non-hlos.bin from the 4.2.2 firmware which is already
in our phones if we are using any M919 MDL stock based Jellybean custom roms.
Good thing that none of the cwm/twrp flashable zip file custom roms contain
the modem.bin or the the non-hlos.bin!
Good luck with it..
thought it might help...

Not sure what your planning on doing or what you know, So i'm not too sure if this will help you out that much if at all but when I have having some issues with the updated 4.3 & KNOX. I ended up getting alot of help from Jovy23 ... When it comes to troubleshooting, fixing, updating or just learning new information about the galaxy s4, the T-Mobile/SGH-M919 variant in particular Jovy23 [& the whole Infamous Dev Team] typically has a method fixing it or will be able to point you in the right direction.
Here in Jovy23 Thread [Page11] some talk about bootloaders was brought up, again not too sure what your planning to do or what all you are looking for/need

Hey Misterjunky, I just posted a link from Jovy23 thread trying to help out, I noticed that you were actually pretty active on the thread there, 1st of all just wanted to say thanx for all the input there & here. Also I wanted to ask you if you could help me out and try to explain the whole Knox 0x0 , 0x1 thing on the Bootloader and other then warranty issues are there any other problem about having the "0x1" or is it possible to reverse it back to "0x0". Hope this all makes senses [Sorry about the format & wording of the question]
I'm going to disassemble it and walk through it to see what it does
I was under the impression that the bootloader partition was mmcblk0p6 aboot. So wouldn't the KNOX bootloader be in the aboot.bin?
I flashed the 4.3 MK2 NON-HLOS.bin awhile back, before we found out it broke sound and calls. Afterwards, I flashed back to 4.2.2 MDL NON-HLOS.bin. A problem that I've had ever since is whenever I'm on a touchwiz rom and I hold the power button the device powers down immidiately, shut down animation and everything, skipping the power menu. There may have been some KNOX related things in the LTE modem that did this but I don't know. I've looked around and haven't found any mention of it. I've reverted to stock MDL thru windows on odin and ubuntu with heimdall CLI and the problem persists. On AOSP roms the power menu works fine. In download mode there has never been any mention of KNOX warranty void before and after switching from 4.2.2 MDL to 4.3 MK2 NON-HLOS.bin and back to MDL bin.
Not a big deal as I run 5 roms (my deodexed mk2, foxhound 3.5, danvdh GE latest, cm-11 noobdev 12/23, and slimkat latest) currently with Dual Boot by @chenxiaolong :good:

The KNOX counter can be used by Samsung or Tmobile as an excuse why not to honor warranties.
You will get the KNOX if you update using OTA/KIES or Odiin flashing the official 4.3 stock firmware.
If you do have KNOX, it will not effect how your phone works, or flashing 4.3 custom cwm/twrp flashable roms.
Your phone will work just as good with or without KNOX, and KNOX does not put any limits on what you
can or cannot do with your phone except for one thing, you cannot "downgrade" to 4.2.2 roms/firmwares.
Good luck!
THANKS

I Flashed 4.3/MK2 with odin and had Knox, for a minute but then Flashed another Rom on my phone and since doing so I havent seen any "Knox 0x1" on the bootloader or anything, Is the Bootloader the only place that you would see that? Is it possible that it went away or anything like that??
Hi,
I have a Sprint CDMA galaxy s3 device (of course) that had samsung stock rom 4.3 with Knox.
i rooted the device and disable knox with SuperUser, and then installed CM11.
now i want to go back to stock rom (downloaded from Sammobile).
do i need to worry from brick because of the knox? because it is disabled now, or is it ok to flash the stock rom via odin?
thanks in advance

I installed cm 10.2.1 coming from cm11 yesterday, it booted up the first time and worked great but after reboot it was stuck on Samsung screen, now i'm back to cm11, but i'm thinking of trying to go back to stock using odin. I get bored a lot I guess lol, and I can't have fear of bricking my devices if I'm flashing roms, have to learn somehow!

if it is interesting for someone, i flashed official stock 4.3 via odin successfully
You can flash the stock tar through Odin or even use dsxdias android kitchen to customize it so you don't have to flash the whole tar file and lose custom recovery or root.

if i use MK3 and my phone is 4.12 you saying it will brick it ?
just want to make sure i pick the correct ROM can you kindly clarify which ROM i should flash first
thanks
If you flash 4.3, you cannot use Odin to go back to a previous version, that's what will brick it. You should flash 4.1.2. It does not have the Knox bootloader.

If it's the Samsung screen u need to go into factory recovery and do a factory reset. If u stuck at the note 2 screen u need to use odin and use the modified restore that was posted on the 4.4 update discussion thread. i think i used odin 3.4 or something. Ill turn my computer on to see.

ok to make things short as possible. i dont want this discussion to get out of hand and i will be as helpful as possible. I was stuck on the samsung note 2 screen. i couldnt get past it. tried everything for like 2 days and then rwilco12 posted his modified 4.3 restore on page 50 of the Note II - the 4.4.2 update - discussion thread. all i did was flash that through Odin3 v3.04. just reboot checked on PDA. nothing else. when it rebooted it took a while but it booted to the samsung screen that changes colors. it stuck there so what i did was reboot into recovery mode and did a factory reset. after that it booted into 4.3 no problems.

Honestly I'm not quite sure. What u could do is use billards mc2 then ota to 4.3 and when u reboot if u soft brick again just use the modified restore again. If u want to try it go ahead no harm in trying. i might try it later but chances are its going to fail anyways. Since downgrading from 4.4 is what caused the problem in the first place.

Puffyjello,
I simply flashed the OTA 4.4.2 in stock recovery and rebooted to the update no problem. No new Odin's of MK4 or anything, just flashed the OTA after i used your method to unbrick.
I then Odin'd Philz, flashed SuperSu and now im rooted and on 4.4.2, no problems.
Again, thanks for the help with the 'unbricking'!

Np. And what I thought u meant was going back to mc2 from 4.4 then ota to 4.3 and see if it bricks again. I wasnt sure if it would. Ne ways I'm glad everything's fixed. And I hope anybody that has this problem follows what fixed our phones. you guys take care. Running stock deodexed ne2 and loving it. Can't wait to try out their s5feat rom when they release it.
Does the LJC_Stock_With_Count_Reset[FINAL].zip still work after ota 4.4.2 ?
This to me is the best back to unrooted stock. It resores the LJC PIT, kernel, and modem. Compared to all the other stock roms; I find this one read and writes easier with QPST & CDMA-ws.
Im currently running stock rooted MC2 with stock LJ1 baseband.
In my opinion so far this is the recipe for this phone. Oldest basebands seem to have better battery life. I'm not really sure if the newer modems are actually faster causing the battery to drain faster, or generate more compression and share more detailed information with big brother which would also cause it to slow down.
I have this theory the manufacturers purposely slow peoples equipment down with the OTA after the first couple years to motivate them to buy the newer model flagships that supports the same software more efficiently. maybe I'm just crazy but can someone please try the back to LJC stock unrooted. and let me know if it works better than the back to stock MC2.
plus it could possibly be better doing all the OTA to 4.4.2 from an older stock rom.
Hi all,
I've kind of backed myself into a corner here after a bit of "experimenting"
I just purchased an S4 SGH-M919, came with stock 4.2.2 Jellybean.
- Opened it up and rooted it via auto-root + Odin.
No issues.
Then instead of manually flashing a rom, I downloaded a play store app called 'Recovery Tools', and tried to flash TWRP onto the phone.
-Stuck at Samsung screen with blue 'booting recovery...' forever.
I then (stupidly?) tried to flash 4.4.2 onto the phone. *not sure if this is stupid because I read T-Mobile has an unlocked bootloader?
So flashing 4.4 T-Mobile Galaxy S4 Stock Firmware (4.4.2 - M919UVUFNB4) PASSES with odin, but the phone is still 'messed up'.
I can access recovery mode, but the phone will not boot past the 'Samsung' logo, and even after a factory data reset and deleting users.
I've also tried flashing back to 4.2.2, and odin fails.
Please help I can't afford another device and I'm now phoneless. Not sure where to go from here and could really use some direction..
Just adding that I think this happened because I accidentally flashed the most recent version of TWRP which doesn't work on the s4.
At this point I can't get any stock ROM to load.
Any idea folks? Any guidance greatly appreciated here..
You might want to try installing one of the cm or aosp based jflte roms. they seem to load easier. After that you can try another rom if you need to. Make sure you are giving it enough time to boot up the first time after a flash. It can commonly take 10 minutes for a stock touchwiz rom to load first time around. Edit: or just odin the stock nk2 firmware from here and start over. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-tmobile/general/firmwares-official-mdl-mk2-nb4-t2816508

Screen just goes black, IF it gets past 'Samsung' logo, depending on what build I'm flashing. I was once able to get all the way into setup, then the phone completely went black again. Pretty sure it's not a hw issue because the phone was working fine until I started all of this.
Can I just load a jflte rom via Odin? That's about all I'm able to do currently.
At this point I would odin nk2 firmware. after that odin twrp.

Okay Ultra, appreciate your advice - I'll try this now.
To confirm - after flashing nk2, should the phone be able to fully boot? Or will I have to twrp first before I can expect it to fully boot?
Thanks again
It will boot without twrp

Right. Should be good to go
Stay away from twerp, use CWM it's more reliable and it won't brick phones. Those extras cooked into twrp make it flaky.
Pp.

Hi all,
I just purchased an S4 SGH-M919, came with stock 4.2.2 Jellybean.
...[...]...

Would anyone confirm if to flash via Odin from 4.4.X to 4.2.2 would require the OP to first flash the bootloader from a 4.4.X bootloader to a 4.2.2 bootloader?

Would you please elaborate on the reason for how it does not work that way?
Specifically, would you recommend what way you would go about it?

Read the first post. He odined 442 to it. You cant go backwards. After that point it is best to just update to the latest complete firmware bootloader and all, just as he did and succeeded.

Everthing over 4.3 has knox bootloader. and prevents downgrading. However i don't know why anyone would want to run 422 these days. The phones run smoothest with the latest nk2. And everyone overreacts about the m919 knox bootloader.

Indeed, however if someone strongly preferred to downgrade from 4.4.2 (M919UVUFNB4) to 4.2.2 (M919UVUAMDL) would they need to first flash the 4.4.2 bootloader with the 4.2.2 bootloader, thereby replacing the 4.4.2 bootloader with the 4.2.2. bootloader, in order to then allow Odin to successfully flash from 4.4.2 (M919UVUFNB4) to 4.2.2 (M919UVUAMDL) - is that correct?
