Hi folks,
I have a problem with my HOX, whenever I try to search for any network it just says "searching" for like 2 minutes and then there appears an error saying "Error while searching for network".
I'm currently running on CM 10.2 stable build. Unlike other threads that I read related to the same problem, I have everything working. Phone automatically selects the best network available, Internet works fine, IMEI number and everything shows fine.
The only major problem is I'm not able to explicitly switch between network operators, and it has cost me a couple of hundred bucks extra in the phone bill when I could have easily saved them.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Regards,
Piyush

The boot.img file is in the ROM's zip only. Just open the zip file in 7zip, winRAR, winzip or whatever and you should see the file right there.

I am having issue in connecting mobile data, although I have the "data enabled" option ticked, but there is no mobile data icon appears on the status bar.
I googled and tried lots of apn setting for my carrier however none of them can solve my problem. I have done the "search automatically" method under network operators. Also, I have tried flash newer cyanogenmod nightly and other radio version over my original cyagenmod rom, but none of these help.
Please advice on how could I get my mobile data working again.
Mobile data issue
I am facing the same issue . Any one knows wat could resolve this??
which radio version r u having????
Hope I can help you
Quoted from CM7's official thread for HTC wildfire (Buzz):
If you have any issues with GPS, 3G or any other network issues, try flashing the following radio firmware. NB, it's not possible to flash this zip from ClockworkMod 3, so if you have this version installed, use ROM Manager to flash it instead.

I deactivated my 3G subscription. Deleted the APN. Activated 3G subscription. Recreated the APN and voila I am connecting via 3G. I hope this would help others facing this issue as well.

Hi,
I have tried all three radio versions, flashed all 3 of them several times for the last 3-4 days but I am still not able to enable the functions of GPS & Mobile Data (Internet) on my rooted HTC Wildfire. Currently I am running Cyanogenmod 7.1.0.1.
I am really going crazy over this. In google maps, location is found only while using wi-fi. With GPS location is not found although the GPS icon comes in status bar. Mobile internet doesnt work at all.
Please help.

As a last resort (this will do a clean wipe of all data) -
Run an RUU for your phone
- Downloaded from android forums.
- Connect phone to PC and run RUU
- This downgrads phone OS to eclair (android 2.1)
- Let it do the bizniss
- Re-root with unrevoked 3
- Re-Flash CM7 and gApps
Hi guys, I have a problem again.
I just flashed and rooted my phone yesterday, went OK, so now I have CM9 installed on my defy plus.
The only problem however is that I do not have any signal/reception. By that I mean that I can't make any calls or send text messages.
I tried adding APN's, tried basebandswitcher (a couple, don't know the correct one for Belgium).
And now I'm stuck
Could u guys help me with this? Cause a phone wich can't call isn't all that fun
The baseband for Belgium is the same as England and rest of Europe. Normally this is only the problem when 3g is not working. Try to flash again maybe...wipe data... Try disable/unable flymodus. Reboot a few times... Disable Simlock.

I agree with the previous poster, but it's almost certainly your baseband that is not set up properly. I live in Canada, and the baseband that works with my phone is China. Do some research, trial and error, and you'll get the right frequencies.
I have tried nearly all basebands, none worked.
Is there a way I can go back to stock ROM? I tried installing a new zip file to SD card, but my pc doesn't recognise my Defy anymore
I also didn't make any backups
FIXED
I installed a new ROM, Kernel and Google Apps (still CM9 --> Android 4.0)
Thanks for helping guys

And finally you have paranoidandroid or back again in the previous rom? With a little search in the forum i found this "Hey...I found out why I didn't have service and was able to fix it. When I had flashed AOKP, there is a setting in the Mobile Networks screen to change the CDMA subscription to RUIM/SIM. Somehow (probably playing around) I changed it from the NV to RUIM/SIM. THEN, I nandroided back to stock, and had no service. As far as I know, that CDMA Subscription option isn't on the STOCK ROM...so I was baffled. Good thing I remembered what I did."
Try it and report..!

i'd recommend that you flashed again your previous rom to see if it is rom related or not. I ve read somewhere that some people had problems with the signal when flashing aokp.

i going to take it to the samsung cc....... lets see what they will say about this problem
I am suffering a very similar and strange problem. I have a Dmc3 deodexed and rooted Rom with NEDLK1 baseband (3 ITA operator) since 3 months. I have done nothing special (no new apps nor flashes) in the latest weeeks. I have never flashed any other ROM. But 2 days ago I saw NO service. I have correct imei, could even surf the web but no telephone functions. Rebooting the phone did not work.
I thought of a SIM card issue and yesterday I asked my operator for a new sim. While I was waiting the new sim to be enabled, today I pushed in my Note 2 another SIM by another operator. After some hours I had the same trouble with this SIM.
So the problem is the Telephon. I don't know if hw or sw, but there is an issue.
Now to see what may be, first I changed the baseband Modem and flashed a stock XXDLK7 and inserted the new Sim inside. Now I will wait and see.
In case of continuing issue, I will try and go back to full stock operations.

Hello guys. I had the same problem, and it was a hardware problem. The solution is really simple: put onto the left of the camera, inside the chassis, a small piece of papero of 3 mm. It's enough to strenght the connections of the flat of the SIM card connectors to the motherboard
So I flashed CM 10.2 to my D2ATT last friday and was completely happy with it. The snow storms cancelled my weekend plans so I was home with my wifi all weekend. Upon leaving for work this morning, however, I noticed that I was unable to pick up mobile data. I found out through googling that this is a common error with 10.2 so I tried upgrading to a CM11 nightly. For whatever reason my phone doesn't like them and CWM gives an error when trying to install them even if I perform a system wipe.
I tried switching to AOKP and got absolutely 0 service from AT&T as far as cell reception, calls, texts, and mobile data.
I'm back to CM 10.2 right now, and word on the net is that I need a modem file, but I can't seem to find one for my phone. Can anyone get me a link or a fix?
Thanks!
In the SGS III development section there is all the modem files it has it's own thread

I appreciate the response, but I quite frankly have no idea what I'm looking at in any of the three dev forums and can't find the modem file thread. Could you please be a bit more specific?
before trusting on anything
go to your setting-->about and look if your IMEI is still intact

I do have a 15 digit IMEI as well as a two digit IMEI SV. I did however notice that it said "mobile network status: disconnected" so I had it search for networks (it found two labeled AT&T and one was a 5 digit number) and auto select the best one. During that process I received and sent a few texts. After that process it said "selected network" but nothing had changed, and it still said I was disconnected.
I had the same problem when I flashed to stock 4.3, I lost T-Mobile service and only could call and text no data! I flashed the modem from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47817339&postcount=23 only download the modem_ and after I flashed and reboot viola! Data working perfectly Hope this helped!!!

Hello all,
I am a newbie to rooting and flashing ROMs to Android. I have a Virgin Mobile SIII (SPH-L710) running Cyanogenmod 11 M12. My custom recovery is Philz Touch Home Recovery. I really like CM, but I only have 3G coverage. I've done a lot of Googling, but haven't found a clear solution. Does anyone know a fix for this? Would flashing a new modem, fiddling with the APNs, or upgrading to the latest nightly (or unofficial CM12!) fix this? Thanks in advance!

You need to flash the APN fix by moped_rider, BoostMobile and VirginMobile users have to do this on AOSP based ROMs. It's the same file for both. You can get it here:
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/u2eom6707846q/Boost_APN_Fix
Thanks for the quick response! All I have to do is flash the zip in recovery, right? I will see if this works tomorrow when I get in an LTE area.

Yup, that's all you gotta do
I tried out the new APN fix, and now whenever I'm on coverage, a message on the button portion of the screen pops up saying "no APN specified on this device." Is there any way to fix this? It won't go away and heavily lags my phone. Also, I still don't have LTE.
Go to voice dialer and say "open apns" and make sure they are in there, sometimes you gotta flash the file a few times to get it to stick, if it's still giving you a problem I'll upload the one that I ah email that I know works

I checked, there are 2 apns: boost mobile LTE and boost mobile ehrpd. However, I reflashed it, and the problems consist.
I tried flashing the old one too from media fire (the one labeled r1), and it didn't work either. I'm not sure if this matters, but I have Ad Block Plus installed. Also, I noticed my MMS isn't working either, but it didn't work before I flashed the fix.
Fixed it! I followed a guide from MopedRyder himself: http://androidforums.com/threads/mod-universal-lte-virgin-mobile-apn-fix-wip-cm-aosp-4-4-x.840298/ basically the same thing as the boost mobile package, but made for virgin mobile. Thanks guys!
