[Q] AT&T sgh-i747 custom rom

I have an AT&t galaxy S3 SGH-I747 and it is rooted and has twrp installed. it is currently on android 4.1.1 and I want to install TheCollective*[12-28-13] AoCP - CP7.0 {4.4.2} for I747. My bootloader is currently DLK3. Do I need to update my boot loader before I flash this rom and if so which one should I flash? I have spent a bunch of time searching here and have not found a direct answer to this. I realize it is no joke flashing bootloaders and I don't want to do it if it is unnessecary. any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
thank you

Bootloader unlocked?

Hi Forum,
I am wondering if the bootloader is unlocked in the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini ? I got it from a carrier. I want to install custom ROMS, but I heard that rooting doesn't let you install custom ROM's...that the thing that gets you to install custom ROMS is an unlocked bootloader. So does anybody know if it is unlocked ? And if the bootloader is locked, anybody know how to unlock it ? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The bootloader is not locked.
Just flash the custom recovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2364980). Then you can flash any custom ROM in recovery.
Read all about triping KNOX, and if it's OK for you, go ahead.

[Q] lollipop root

hello guys ... im trying to root my lollipop m8 ... it's just not working ! woulld you please help me ?
Can you elaborate? Tell us what you have tried, and what errors or issues you've had?
It's as simple as unlocking bootloader, flash custom recovery and flash SU binaries if needed and install super SU from playstore.
Same as on kit Kat.
Or, just unlock bootloader, flash custom recovery, flash custom rom. Which will likely be already rooted.

if you don't need guarantee, then make EFS backup, flash custom recovery, root and flash lollipop.
you don't need to unlock anything.
you need chainfire's root, philz or twrp recovery, odin and custom ROM.
