LGe980 AT&T : Unable to unlock Bootloader - LG Optimus G Pro

I have a LG Optimus G Pro e980 AT&T model , i tried using FreeGee and disabled Security , and rebooted phone , it shows below error 'Security Error' Boot loader Locked , Boot Success ... If i use FreeGee again and use Unlock feature and reboot , Phone gets soft bricked and stays at LG Logo and i have to flash Tot file to get it working again ...
Please help me in getting Bootloader unlocked so that i could get G2V5 Rom installed .

I used FreeGee and I get the security error everyone I boot up, but I think that's the case for everyone. do you have the boot to recovery option in your power menu?

[Q] Reboot Recovery: Secure boot error?

Hello everyone!
I rooted my phone a few months ago and attempted to install a recovery manager (TWRP) through goo manager. I gave up at the time because it wasn't working, and it wasn't that important to me at the time.
I return today to try to fix the problem. I launched goo manager again and installed TWRP through it, and it said it did so successfully. However, when I click reboot into recovery, it says hidden menu has stopped working, and then it shuts off. When it starts turning back on, it says..
"Secure booting error!
cause: Boot certification verify"
At that point, I must hold the power button and restart the phone into its normal operational state. I would really like to overcome this issue but I have no idea what would cause something like this! Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Tevin

you have to be unlocked as well to use custom recovery. search freegee in the app store and use it to unlock your phone plus it installs a custom recovery at the same time!

Did you remove any apps? Is FreeGee installed already? We need to know this stuff.
Try holding the Power button for 20sec. That should turn it off. Then power on again.

Boot verification error
Secure booting Error!
Cause : boot certification verify
Heres the situation. I just flashed cyanfox or whatever its called. I cleared the cache, user data, and dalvik cache. There is no FreeGee. Assume i have not done anything except: flash TWRP(which failed to recognize touch screen properly), flash CWM, transfer CyanFox-geefhd-050913.zip, gapps-jb43-20130726-signed.zip, E980-MODEM-BM9615A-CWM, and then install all 3 of them in the order presented.
I then cleared applicable caches and data then rebooted with CWM.
When i hold the power button to reboot the device i get this error.
When i remove the battery i get this error when it tries to boot up.
How do i... un-**** this.

First, is you phone Sprint? Those files you're trying to flash are not Sprint. I'm guessing it's international version but I'm not sure.
If you are on Sprint, then you'll need to use LGNPST or the LGFlashTool to restore your phone.
Thanks! Helped me a lot!

Any hope for 3rd party rom to F240s/l/k users?

There are recovery available for F240 users, rom for E980 is exploding. I am very sad to see myself being left in the dark....I almost want to flash the E980 into my F240, let it work or die, once and for all....
actually users have reported using cm 10.1 and 10.2 roms on f240 models.... also AOSP roms for e980 don't flash a modem so you don't even have to do that..... but some people have suggested to wipe internal memory or internal sd card when moving from stock to aosp roms..... happy flashing.... don't forget to share your experience

OK, i did not flash the recovery because i did not think there are any rom out there to try.
Since the Roms for e980 seems working with F240, now the recovery is flashed into my phone. So far, doing back up in CWM, and downloading the PAC rom for testing.....
wish me luck....if I dont come back again...that just means my F240s bricked....

yes probably you need to circumvent bootloader security and freegee will do that...do root first and install busybox

I used to be able to see "secure boot error" but not after freegee. Put it this way, i never able/have a chance to boot into recovery after freegee.
my phone cannot boot into rom or recovery....just a LG logo after pressing the power button...
hold volume down and power together will have a message of factory hard reset come up. I hit the "power" for factory hard reset, but still, nothing happen.

That is strange you should see a secure boot error after freegee worked
Secure boot error
Cause device unlock so boot success
have you tried the button combination to get into recovery?? if that fails your option maybe to download LG flashtool connect your device in download mode and flash stock rom and then start again
what I suspect is that freegee didn't install properly

its normal to get this message when you try to boot into twrp http://i42.tinypic.com/5n7psj.jpg, it just means that loki is working. What do you mean your tablet doesnt boot anymore? You d better ask for help in twrp's thread, drgravy who ported twrp for gpad is very helpful.
No I have not tried to factory reset the device. I don't even know how to do it, i guess through LG PC TOOL. I would love to avoid becasue of some stored photos.
"Doesn't boot" - it means that after turning on, apears LG logo, and then the ifno about this error and it automaticly turns to recovery.
I assume you have non stock recovery. Do a search the in the forum. It is finicky and took me 3 tries but then was able to boot into recovery. From there did a factory reset and was able to boot up. Still got that same message during the first 3 seconds of the boot screen but then it switched to the Google kit Kat screen and boot completed.

Did you flash a custom rom? Also which version of twrp did you install? 2.6.3.0 doesnt work normally, you need 2.6.3.1 or 2.6.3.2.To flash back to stock there are 2 ways, easiest is the lg mobile support tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2590185), you cant flash the stock from recovery or adb atm.

I havent used this feature in the gpad but it should work if you ever need to restore your tablet to a previous state. Take in mind though that this backup isnt stock as you had rooted your tablet in order to install twrp. To flash back to full stock (recovery, rom and even kernel if you had changed it) you have to use a method like lg mobile support tool.

[Q] rooted, but freegee doesn't give me option to unlock, where to go?

I've got my OGP rooted, and I installed FreeGee as recommended by many; however, freegee doesn't give me any options to "disable lge security" or "unlock boot loader" as many tutorials point out.
What I get with freegee is:
device name: LG optimus g pro
device model: LG E980
Software version: E98010g
"backup EFS"
"Restor EFS"
"CWM 6.0.4.6"
"TWRP 2.6.3.3"
and via menu:
settings
update loki in zip
reboot recovery
reboot bootloader
shutdown
......
That's all. No "disable lge security" like I see in this video: I'm to new to post a link. . . youtube video of e980 with "disable lge security" as an option.
Or the option to unlock the boot loader I've read in some tutorials.
So. . . where do I go from here? I would like to be able to safely flash a custom ROM.
I tried this freegee CWM once before and ended up in a boot loop, and ultimately security lock on start up and had to restore back to original via soft brick fix. . . would like to avoid that again
Thanks!
When you open freegee just choose your the recovery of your choice. CWM or TWRP. Make sure you grant permission to the app (assuming you are rooted). Once done to get to recovery what I do it turn off the phone and press volume down and power button, once it turns just press the power button 2-3 times to get to recovery.

Thanks stulzerl for the reply.
I was working my way through the 33 pages on the freegee thread. . . little confused on the lge security — dev stated everything white listed but also has uploat boot.img, which I've no clue
So. . . I guess I'm good without that step and I'll just attempt cwm again with beanstalk. Finger crossed.
CWM worked
Thanks again. . . TWRP didn't work — touch screen would only work on a couple items. CWM worked fine. Backed up and installed Beanstalk ROM.

I don't remember just rebooting after installing freegee. . . installed a ROM right off. Nonetheless, all seems to be working properly.
for anyone who wants to know: I would get locked into a boot loop with CWM when booting into recovery from power off. I found that madmac's lokified TWRP doesn't have this problem.

[Q] Flash CWM via download mode (LG Tool)

hello everyone,
I read somewhere that LG Optimus G Pro has no stock recovery.
Similar to Samsung devices that can flash CWM via odin from download mode, is there a current method or trick on how to flash CWM via LG Tool in download mode ?
The g pro has a stock recovery mode.
No there is no method similar to Oden for flashing recovery on the g pro. That I know of.
If u are on. 4.1.2 just root and use freegee From the play store.
If u are on 4.4 KK. There there is an apk
You can download off xda that will install a recovery.

This confusing.
I am running stock JB on unrooted E080 variant, and when I use the fastboot App to go to recovery mode, it only shows the Android robot recovery logo without any recovery text options.
But when I manually perform the recovery mode, (Vol Up + Power) it only boots to a black screen without any Android robot and a blinking home button.
Esimon, are you sure the first attachment picture is from the At&t LG Optimus G Pro e980 ?

I have some questions.
1. whats the model variant of your LG Optimus G Pro ?
2. Did you tried flashing a cynogenmod with a Custom Recovery or ?
The reason for asking the 2nd question, is because, it seems impossible for me to access the Factory Stock Recovery (Android System Recovery 3e) on e980 version and I only get a black screen and a blinking home button.
