[Q] [ISSUE]HTC Headphones control buttons and mic stopped working !

Hello everyone, I will be short : after few months using my DHD I was using the stock headphones with no problems to answer calls, skip tracks in music player etc...
But since a few days the buttons worked randomly and now even the mic does'nt work so I can hear but we can't hear me.
Of course I did'nt let them fall in my coffe or under a car or whatever, and I tried with many custom rom (full wipe etc..)and also with stock, thats why I ask some help from you.
I looked for few hours in many threads, and found that some users had this after they rooted their phones, I found that HD2 users had this too !! when using android in dual boot so Im 99% sure its a software and not hardware fault, unfornatunaly I did'nt tried to use the headphones on another DHD yet...If I can I give you the results.
THX for your help !
There is a app in the market called headset blocker (widget). Check it out and see if it may be of use.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
thx I already tried it it does'nt fix the problem.
Little up for this annoying issue...
I have the same problem with my headphones. they suddenly stoped working. however, my problem is a hardware fault, because the headphones of a friends DHD are working as intended.
I think that yours is a hardware fault too.
I have the same problem, and it's NOT a hardware fault. I don't think yours is either.
The reason for this is that I exchanged and got a fresh pair today. They didn't work! As in, I can listen to music, but not pause or change songs, or talk with the mic. Extremely frustrating.
All this just using the default music player etc.
Yea, mine doesnt work too!!!, it happened as soon as i rooted my phone!!!
the buttons randomly work (i.e. sometimes when i press the buttons, it works, and some times it doesnt. The FF you Rewind the track, the Play could FF the track, etc...) its all random!
I posted a thread before and got no replies!, but its something got to do with the rooting i think. Its not H/W for sure!
I've flashed some ROMs too. It's good (and bad ) to know what im not alone!!
Doesnt anyone have a FIX for this?!
I faced this problem even I did not root my Desire HD. The problem seemed to be solved after I rooted it and flashed the rom ARHD 6.1.5. Unfortunately, I face this problem again now when I tried to flash the rom RCMix3D Runny v4.0. I think this is not a problem of HW but SW tho.
anyone have a FIX for this?!
Damaged pin? That's whats wrong with mine
Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using xda premium
up for issue! somebody fix it?

[Q] AFTV & Kodi = No sound after waking up from standby

Hey everybody,
I´ve got a little problem with my AFTV (unrooted, newest Amazon Firmware and Kodi dated 23.12.2014).
I configured everything I need and tried a movie from my synology but there was only the movie and no sound.
Trying a Haddon from a local radio station it is the same problem, no sound.
The original FTV, like Instant Video, is working normally.
Do you have an idea, what I can do to get sound working with Kodi?
Thank you
Temporer
*EDIT*
Problem occurs when the AFTV wakes up from standby and affect both systems, AFTV and Kodi.
Need more detail. You don't mention what audio is contained in the file (but you mention an add-on which I'm assuming is 2-ch stereo), what audio device you are sending to (e.g. receiver, soundbar, etc.), and which method (optical or HDMI) you are using for transport.
The sound in the movie is Dolby Digital 5.1 and from the addon it is 2.0.
Sound should go directly via HDMI to the TV.

What audio output settings do you have set in Kodi?
Hi everybody,
problem has been solved by itself.
After a complete power cut, everything is working fine.
Hi everyboby,
problem is still there.
But I have some new information:
- Problem occurs, when AFTV is waking up from Standby (complete AFTV has no sound)
- when I change the resolution from automatic to 1080p 60fps or 1080p 50fps, the sound comes back.
- Changing this setting back to automatic will not cause the problem again.
Any ideas, what exactly causes the problem and how to solve it?
Thank you very much

Hi everybody,
I just tested the AFTV with a Toshiba TV and it is working fine.
I think this must be a problem between AFTV and Philips TV.
Any ideas?
Thank you

Not that I think it will make a difference, but how are you waking the Fire?
Hey everybody,
I just tried the cdmi cable from my PS3. Same problem.
I wakeup the fire tv with the home buttons on the remote.

You don't happen to know more about this do you? On my newer smart tv, firmware updates are automatic. But my bedroom aftv is connected to an old-ish tv with no Ethernet*and obviously no WiFi. It does have a usb port and DVD drive. But it's 1080p, good picture and I have little need to upgrade. Except...
I have this one of a kind issue where I need to reboot about 70% of the time before I use it
with aftv. The sound cuts in & out. Reboot fixes it. I was happy when someone showed me fast reboot, an app that simulates reboots but it doesn't work for this one issue. Needs an actual reboot.
Anyway just takin a shot you or anyone might know of a website with a database of firmwares. I'm thinking if it doesn't go online the tv doesn't typically get updates but I don't know.
I have a Samsung LN46A650. To upgrade the firmware, I download it to a USB stick, plug that into the WISELINK port, and follow the menu.
For you, the first step is to determine if there *is* an update.
Post the brand and model?
I have same issue with my Samsung TV ... well it has happened 2-3 times. I fix it by turning off and on the TV.
I believe it may be related to CEC going screwy when the device goes to sleep

I didn't mean to suggest that updating my firmware had anything to do with the issue folks here are having. I don't have the issue, but I routinely check for firmware and software updates on everything I own.
That said, I suppose it's possible, but I consider it very unlikely that CEC would have anything to do with this. Anyone else here have a universal remote that can test that out?

hello
did your any other solution for this Problem ? - i find it so annoying ......
I have the same problem and turning the TV off and on fixes it for me too.
I've had my Fire TV with XBMC for about a year and I didn't have this problem at first. It really seems like a firmware update messed it up.

Mirroring, Skype & Hangouts Issues

Hi, first of all excuse my bad english.
I manage to cast my Nexus7 to the tv, using both chromecast or Miracast (included in the TV), but the main problem is when it comes to Skype or Hangouts, the sound only comes from the Nexus itself, it's very annoying as the speakers aren't loud enough.
I'll be so glad if someone could help me with that.
Thanks in advance

[Q] Black screen on Fire tv stick

My screen went black and I could hear audio only, when trying to play any movies. I read to change hardware acceleration to software, and now the audio is messed up. I bought the stick already loaded with kodi 14.1. Does anyone have any suggestions about what settings are best for the stick? Thank you in advance for any help
Download spmc/tvmc and push it to the stick to see if it's the same.

Amazon fire phone dolby digital problem

Hi everyone !
I recently got an Amazon fire phone , its awsome , but the only thing that I dont like on this phone , are the speakers , when I play music , its very noisy .
I want to know if anyone else has spoted this problem.
And I want to know if there is any way to fix it .
I have tried to install some sound equalizers but not such a big change .
Thanks in advance
Compared to my iPhone, the Fire Phone has a very flat sound, no bass at all.
I did not find a way to fix this, you just have to use good headphones or external speakers.
