Root plus game hack question???? - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all,
So im rooted on my tab 3 10.1..
On my old tablet I had the game hack program SHX 3.0.. Greatest program I have ever used//// I have it installed on my new tab but everytime I try to find a value it says the service is dead and to restart it.... I cant get it to work on my new tab..
also within super user giving it rights it says
"Developer Warning Android.permission.Access_SUPERUSER not declared in manifest... I am still able to allow it but the program does not work..
What does that mean, does anyone know?
Or does anyone know of a program that works well for modifying values that works with the new tab 3?
any help would be great

Try GameCIH

before the flaming begins..ill answer this.
1. We have yet to achieve root access..hence why ur not able to change ur "root options" we do have a temp root..but totally up to u to use.
2. your going to come across a few apps on the site that your not going to be able to use, because of the lack of root. Just read a little bit in the op's and first couple of posts and it should say weather or not u need to have root to use.
welcome to the site btw!

Gameloft Games all 99 cents for now....

Just incase you guys didnt know.
If you've done crossix mod then this deal is even sweeter cause more games will show up in the market. Make sure you give him proper thanks.
Must be rooted to do his mod. Give Brendan proper thanks as well.
GAME ON!!!!
Bought 9mm and Order and Chaos ( play O&C on the iPhone too.) Gotta admit I am really diggin 9mm
Sent from my Iconia A100 using Tapatalk
If you don't want to do the fix. Buy the games online and e-mail Gameloft with the order number and they will send you the A500 apks. Usually the same day from my experience, however I imagine they are gonna be kinda busy with the 99 cent sale.
I've done this twice already when I bought games on my phone that weren't available for my tab. They have great customer service, unlike E.A. (eff them)
EDIT: Speaking of which here is the direct link they sent me to download Asphalt Adrenaline HD - http://dl.gameloft.com/cm/t0/0rz0eYrFw33/Asphalt6Adrenaline.apk
So if you purchased that game just download from the link above. It still checks the market to see if you bought, so no stealing.
I am trying to buy the games online but it won't let me; it asks for my phone info .
I am not rooted but really want some of the gameloft games. Is there any other way?
You'll have to root and do the build.prop change I posted a while back to find more games.

Yeah I was afraid of that... Seems like since these are selling fast now GL would get off their butts and make the games available to this platform. Oh well, guess my options are wait or root...

No harm rooting or doing crossix buildprop mod. It doesn't unlock bootloader. I'd do it now just so you have the games now in case you end up with another device later. You won't regret it. Follow the links I posted.

One thing about my device id mod is that it breaks the update function. It sends mixed signals to acer and acer responds with an invalid device type error (when looking at logcat) which is why I haven't posted this mod in the dev section. In order to use the update function you'd have to change the build.prop file back to origional.
The auto updater (and manual) will be completely broken until you restore the original build.prop.

I tried the Manual Updater several times today with your mod, and it seems to be working okay, I just get the usual "Your device is up to date" message. Which brings me to another question, why isn't the US seeing all these updates hitting the rest of the world?

It'll act like its checking for an update but its sending acer invalid data. You wont see the errors unless your looking through the logcat data. So it'll always show "Your device is up to date".

Oh, okay, got ya. I have the games I wanted from Gameloft, including MC3 which I bought today for 99 cents, so I may just load up my backup build.prop, though it looks like it may be a while before we see any updates in the US.
If you use the origional build.prop, the gameloft games wont run. They'll give an error "unsupported device" (it's dumb of gameloft to limit their games per device, but they do)...

Hmm, so is there a way to get them to play while still allowing Acer updates to come through? I guess it's not a big deal, you can always apply updates manually.

Which I think is ok til ICS starts rolling out. Nothing wrong with the 3.2.1 update.zip I posted that I see any reason to really enable updater for me just to get an official 3.2.1 from acer. I'd trade being able to DL more apps and games over that. Again til ICS comes around then ill switch it back. And again thanks for your contribution crossix.

Thats weird. Can you go to www.market.android.com on your tablet and go to the game you just purchased and it should list your compatible devices you can install it to. Do you see a500 on the list? If you dont you might not have done the mod correctly. If it does recheck the lines you edited in build prop. You mightve missed a character.

[Q] SamsungApps

I'm not sure if this has been talked about or not.
I tried to search & came up empty.
I recently switched from EC05 Bonsia to CleanGB MTD.
I am trying to put the finishing touches on rebuilding the phone & when I tried to used SamsungApps it wouldn't connect, says no network connection.
Does this program no longer work under Gingerbread?
Or is there a newer version?
I restored a backup from EC05 (I know BAD!!) that's all I had for that app.
Looking at Samsung's site it looks like the Epic is no longer supported.
Anyone have any input
just keep trying, i had the same issue. and it worked on wed.

Thanks, you were right. I had been trying for a few days before I posted & it finally picked up this morning & wanted to update. Now it works fine.
Are you guys getting a bunch of what looks like full games in there but they say for SGSII only? I wonder if there is anyway to get those running...
Does anyone have the apk for the SamsungApps that works for our phone?

Yes, I can see several I'd like to try, but it wil not download them because it says for SGS2 only.
The game is in the market for the Epic so if there is a way to get it to start the download they should work, I would think. Samsung wants everyone to get the new product.
Anyone have any ideas on how to trick the SamsungApps into downloading these?

Ok, got it.....
I pulled the apk out of my phone, I am running CleanGB MTD 1.0.3 & the apk just updated, so it should be current.
I hope this helps ya......
Thanks, I actually had that apk but it wasn't working. So I thought maybe someone had a different one. Turned out I was just being dense and was trying to install it on CM7 and it wasn't working. Once I switched to another ROM it worked. Thanks again!
Angry birds & Seasons, and Riptide are full add free versions.
NFS Shift and Bejewled are 60minute trials (lame). Post if you find any more full titles.
As for the sgs2 games, I'm thinking a build.prop hack might allow those to install but I haven't had time to try yet. Basically just like how a bunch of us got 50gig box accounts for "LG phones"

Check out the tutorials for installing custom recoveries (TWRP) and rooting your phone in the other forum category:

As far as I know you'll need Windows to run ODIN and Samsung USB Drivers, I could be wrong though. Just read through the stuff.
Your bootloader is locked. It's impossible to root atm.

Again, your bootloader is locked. So the simple answer is no.
Sent from my Galaxy Note 7.
in simple words, the bootloader is like the main gate to the internals of your phone, if locked, as on snpadragon based note 7, it is very, very difficult to root, the exynos note 7 are all open, there is at the moment only one method to root a snapdragon note 7, but I think it works only for AT&T
sucks and my 14 day return period is over ... now what
Now you learn the lesson... Never, ever, under any circumstance, buy a phone until you have verified it can be rooted. There had been an exploit for root with the SDs but Samsung fixed it in the replacement devices. You will hear people telling you root might still be attained and they are right but don't pin any hope on it.
Most people have been where you are and I number among them. The only thing you can do is sell the device, hope for root, learn your lesson. I'm sorry.
One difference is a lot of customizations are available In the basic Android software.... You may not have to root to get the features you want such as Free Hotspot (FoxFi), free music, peer to peer downloads etc...
May I ask what features you want on your phone that are only available if you "root" it??
3 minit battery, Viper4android and titanium backup are what I'm missing. ????

I agree 1,000% @Braca Ganon. There are more apps available today that allows you to access the same features as root so rooting isn't really a necessity as it once used to be. I've rooted every phone I've owned but I have no need to with this phone. Even on my Note 5 I saw no need to root. I was able to debloat carrier apps( Package Disabler Pro), use hotspot( FoxFi and PdaNet combo), change themes and icons( Samsung Theme Store) and much more, Plus, if you do decide to root, you can kiss Samsung or Android Pay goodbye. I also saw some had issues with the Iris Scanner after rooting as well. I personally love the fact that whatever feature I want to use on my phone I can do so with no FCs or trial and error. Custom Roms are based on the Devs likes and dislikes so what you think is a cool feature or function the Dev of whatever rom you are on may think its not and remove it. Once that happens, its more than just adding an .apk to priv-app or system apps, changing permissions and rebooting. It's more involved. This world is light years ahead of an IPhone jailbreak. No disrespect but a 70 year old woman can jailbreak an IPhone. LoL. Op read up on the benefits of root and what you think you need it for. You may be able to get the best of both worlds and still enjoy all the features and functionality the Note 7 has to offer. Samsung has done an excellent job coming into the times as far as root is concerned. They are making it so we don't have to root and can enjoy the benefits and features of these insanely expensive devices. I suggest you use the phone for a bit to its full potential and if you still think you need root then go for it but I'm almost certain you will realize you won't need it. Ultimately, its up to you.

There is no app or combination of apps which can globally remove all ads everywhere on your phone without root. For me removing ads by itself is more than enough to make root an absolute necessity. Nor can any non root app allow you to modify your build.prop as you see fit. Nor can any non root app allow the full functionality that Ti performs. I can go on here for quite a long time but where I'm going is that if you had at one time rooted your phones and don't need it now you hadn't been using the power of root. Root access and what you can do with it has not changed. Nor does any app without root access now do anything an app couldn't do 5 years ago because root access is root access and the lack now is no different than the lack then. Manufacturers have done things like added a close all but everything they have added altogether as a group is only a fraction of what you can do with root.
Whether a person needs or wants root depends on the person but there is no substitute for root and there never will be in the current paradigm. I applaud offering up such fixes as are available on the market. It may be for the OP these are enough but they will not be a substitute for root. As he appears to be new to Android I don't want him to walk away from here thinking that root isn't needed. It may be and it may not be but if you want to make android your bich it absolutely must be had.

I use Adguard to remove ads globally from my phone and it works better, to me anyways, than Adaway or anything equivalent but this is just my usage. Everyone's MMV. As far as using the power of root, I was one of the biggest believers in root. However, I was tired of the trial and error associated with it while running other Custom Roms( notice I keep saying I as this is just my experience). There is nothing more frustrating than going to use a feature and get a FC because either it was removed or the files associated with it were removed. Then you have to go into the archives of a stock rom and try to restore what was deleted and hope it works. At one point I just ran a fully stock rom with root and that worked for me but we both know how useless that is when you're rooted. At the end of my post I suggested to the Op, since he is new to Android, to use Android without it for a bit and see how he fares. If he still finds root is necessary than go for it. I would never tell anyone what to do with their device but you and I both know that root is becoming more of a hassle these days because of all the added security. As a newbie, this can scare the crap out of someone but ultimately it is the Op's decision.

Pokemon go can be played without any root... when the gps hack was available root WAS NOT required... it was a separate app through a different developer... it worked great for about a week, then niantic cut it off..
Once again I'm asking the OP why HE WANTS ROOT... He's coming from iphone...
Im not stupid enough to ask the Android central community as a whole why they want root... Ain't nobody got time for that

How to bypass samsung checkout root detection?

So I wanted to purchase some item in a game using samsung checkout but everytime I try to do it says that I can't purchase anything because my device is rooted. Is there a way to bypass that? Maybe a samsung checkout apk without root detection? I am quite a newby in the whole rooting thing so if I got something wrong, please don't judge
