Hi everyone, im just new here in kindle fire 2 dev page. My KF2 was stuck at bootloop specifically at 'kindle fire' logo. I followed exactly what hashcode's tutorial on how to install twrp and CM. I don't have fastboot cable but i did tried to boot it at fastboot mode, i was able to fastboot it followed until flash the twrp then fastboot reboot. then it just stuck there, i can't use adb and now I'm building my own factory cable, but after I finished it nothing happens.
How can I fix this?
If my cable wiring was correct, should it boot to fastboot mode after I plugged it?
any help will greatly appreciated thanks.

I got a fast boot cable, I can access twrp just need to restore it and it does not work...
I used KFFirstAide with no success all I get is solid kindle fire logo when trying to boot normally.

Hello, I have a rooted Kindle Fire (with bootloader) and tried to return it to original Amazon Stock OS.
I tried the steps specified on this page androidcowboy.com/2013/06/how-to-return-kindle-fire-hd-to-stock/
After this steps:
"Navigate to the folder where you unzipped the Kindle Fire SRT Tool and double-click on “SR Tool” file. Choose option 1 for “Restore-Factory Rooted with Superuser.apk”. Be patient as it’s very important. The file transfer can take up to 5 minute with no progress notification. If you interrupt the process in any way then you will BRICK your device. After the transfer is done then choose option 4 to “Erase cache and userdata”. Once it’s finished then choose option 6 to reboot."
It rebooted and seemed to be stuck at the white and orange Kindle Fire logo screen. I can turn it off and on by holding the power button, but my computer cannot detect it as a portable device or ADB. But I can enter fastboot mode by plugging the USB while it is turned off, so I don't think it's hard bricked.. I hope so.
Any thing wrong that I have done? Sorry I'm a noob when it comes to this. Help please?
Btw, my Kindle Version 8.4.1
Is it boot looping on the animated kindle logo or the static image one? Cause either way I'm guessing something went wrong with the flash, you should probably reflash the boot and system images, try using kindle fire first aid if the SRT doesn't work, I believe it has a stock rooted image flashing option like SRT. BTW don't confuse boot with bootloader, boot is where the kernel is stored. Just pointing this out because if you don't need to flash the boot loader then u shouldn't, if it corrupts you have a hard brick.

I do have KFFA, which option should I choose? And mine is stuck on a static image one.
Weird sounds like it doesn't want to even try to load the os, maybe some things wrong with the kernel, anyways I haven't ever used kffa, but there should be an option somewhere to restore system image. You will first need to get the device into fastboot mode, just open a command prompt and CD into the kffa directory, I should have a fastboot command, and run this: fastboot.exe -i 0x1949 getvar product
Then plug your kindle in with the power off. If for some reason it doesn't work, which it should because you seem to have flashed something from fastboot before, then u will just have to update a driver before it disconnects.

I have a KFHD 8.9 with the same problem as the OP. It's stuck on the static (orange) Kindle Fire logo. I have working drivers and I am able to get it into fastboot using "fastboot.exe -i 0x1949 getvar product". The problem is, I don't know any of the history of how it got this way. I have repaired a lot of Generation 1 KF's and I thought I would get started on the Gen 2's so I bought this on eBay this way. I didn't realize how much more risky it was to work on the Gen 2. I also have KFFA working but I can't figure out how to get the stock image onto the KF so I can flash it back to stock. When I go into fastboot mode and use KFFA to reboot to normal more it just stops on the static Kindle Fire logo. Also, I can't get ADB to work at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
There's an option in kffa to restore the system partition, should be a fairly obvious choice, if you can't find it try the kfhd system restore tool

Well I tried KFFA Option 7 - Completly Restore the KFHD 8.9 8.1.4 (Fastboot) but it didn't work. There is a problem in RunMe.bat with the wget command when trying to download the .img files from dropbox:

So then, I Downloaded the KFHD_SRT tool and managed to restore the system partition but it still would not boot. Then I saw down at the bottom of the instruction page that to downgrade to 8.1.4 you also need to restore the boot and recovery partitions. After I did that -- PRESTO! my KFHD 8.9 booted up and is now working.

Hey, I got same problem, after I install a bootloader for my KFHD 8.9, the original Kindle OS was unable to boot up, I got 8.4.6 when I recived my KFHD, Is the problem of OS ?

Went to root it had no problems between flashing twrp and boot omg I was bricked at fastboot recovery go to fastboot commands I found on this site now can't turn on won't fastboot with factory cable what do I do kindle fire

Hi all, I'm hoping to get some help or advice. I have a 1st gen Kindle Fire. When I received it, it had the stock bootloader installed and appeared to be stuck in fastboot mode. I performed the following steps:
1. used a factory cable to get access to fastboot
2. used soupkit (in Unbuntu 10.10) to flash FFF 1.4a and TWRP 2.2.2.1. Both flashed successfully.
3. turned the Kindle off (holding power for 20 secs)
4. switched over to a normal USB cable
5. powered up and issued 'fastboot getvar product' to stop FFF in fastboot
6. ran 'fastboot oem idme bootmode 4000' to reset to normal bootmode
7. 'fastboot reboot'
8. in FFF chose recovery (power led turned orange and FFF says booting)
9. stuck
I've tried reflashing FFF and TWRP several times, redownloaded and check MD5 (all ok). No matter what I do it seems this KF refuses to move past the bootloader.Any help or ideas? Thanks for your time.

Maybe try different versions of FFF and/or TWRP? You can also try the KFU tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889

Thanks Scoobio, I did try that too. So far I have successfully installed 3 versions of bootloader (FFF 1.4a, FFF with yellow triangle, and also stock from Amazon). All three install successfully. Unfortunately all three have the same symptoms. I am able to execute fastboot commands to flash images, getvar, etc, etc, and they complete successfully. However anytime I "ask" or "let" the bootloader try to boot system or recovery it hangs. FFF 1.4a hangs, previous "yellow triangle" version of FFF hangs, stock also hangs - always at the same point. The screen never flashes like it does when the recovery or kernel first loads. So I don't think its making it that far.
I've tried with factory cable, regular usb, no usb at all. Always hangs on boot. I also tried running KFU in Windows (same problems), SoupKit (same problems), and FireKit (same problems). Last thing I tried was usb_fix_parts_and_install_fff_twrp. It also ran successfully but still same problem.
At this point I don't care so much about fixing the kindle as much as solving the riddle. I'd like to figure this out just so I know...you know I can't let the machine win. So I'm wondering if it could be bad memory blocks or something else missing...will update if i discover anything further. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Oh and...I am able to reset bootmode back to normal or recovery or fastboot...always completes the command successfully but never makes a difference.
Hi, I was running CM11 on a rooted Kindle Fire HD 8.9 happily but decided to take the CM12 nightly and it's not gone well.
It installed but wasn't running correctly, here's where I made my mistake. Instead of waiting until I had a PC to hand, I did a factory reset on the kindle itself (i'm an idiot!).
Now, the kindle will start up into fastboot mode and take some commands but that's it. No recovery, no adb.
I have the android SDK installed along with google usb drivers and the amazon kindle usb drivers. The device appears on the PC (no yellow triangle, I'm running windows 8.1 and the driver is signed).
With fastboot, I can flash a boot and recovery image but I can't then restart the device in recovery mode or standard boot.
a fastboot reboot stays in fastboot mode. any volume and power button combinations won't take it into recovery.
i tried fastboot oem unlock but that doesn't get a response from the device.
I have the kindle SR tool utility (v 1.3.5). It can flash the images to the device but any attempt to reboot will always take it back into fastboot.
I've read countless articles but I'm now stuck. Have I killed my fire?

"fastboot -i 0x1949 oem recovery" should reboot your kfhd into recovery. From there you can wipe system, recovery and data and re-install recovery, cm11 and gapps assuming the zip files are still on your device. Or you can erase and re-flash everything using fastboot commands. If all else fails you can first return it to stock KFHD OS using the system recovery tool. All you need is to get it into fastboot mode which it sounds like you can.

In my situation (Kindle fire HD 8.9 amazon OS 8.1.5) after install TWRP 2.6.0.0, the device is not loaded (always orange logo kindlefire at all) me helped Wipe> format data, after I then sent image cm-11 for devices, `adb push cm-11.zip /sdcard/`, and wipe cache and install cm-11 are successful.
Installing TWRP only for fastboot mode, in the fastboot mode `adb` command dont work, only `fastboot...........` command.
