I just bought the one off of craigslist and it came with an unlocked bootloader and rooted. It did not have custom recover so I easily installed it. Now, how do I know if my phone is s-off? Can anyone lend me a hand so I know if it is or is not? Sorry I don't even know the correct way to ask about it? Any help would be appreciated..
Thanks
Reboot to boot loader and look at the top. You should see something that says s-on or s-off

Yep. In the bootloader on the second line below ****UNLOCKED**** it should say either S-OFF or S-ON...

I want to flash the ROM following a thread, but it asked me to check radio s-off by going into bootloader, but i dont know how to get into it. plz help me, thx. mine is HD A1919
Turn off your phone completely. Hold volume- button and power on your phone. If you see Ship S-OFF in there, you have radio s-off

I have a question. I've seen somewhere on this forum that rooting my phone would cancel my warranty. So, i was wondering, if i root my phone while staying S-on would this apply or not???

The root will apply but when u unlock bootloader, then your warranty would be voided(canceled). Your wildfire s needs to have a unlocked bootloader in order to root; it will still say s-on in bootloader but the bootloader itself is unlocked, not the secu_flag (s-on/s-off.

I bought a Verizon HTC one today that doesn't fully boot up. It has tampered in the bootloader so I assume the person relocked it.
Question is, is there an RUU for a locked S-on ONE? Is there anyway to unlock the bootloader and reflash anything or is this thing truly a brick? From what I've read the S-off procedure requires the phone to boot up.
Thanks

there is one but you have to be s-off in order to use it! the reason is that it is an unencrypted or encrypted! i think they will have the ruu when 4.3 officially drops

OMG Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! I was sweating big time! This was the key
I had the M7 and sent it in bone stock for the purple camera issue.. I now have the M8 and need to send it in to have them look at my camera lens issue (lens distortion/scratches). I had a dialogue with HTC's Jason Mackenzie on Twitter and he told me it would be taken care of.. (praying).
Here is the thing.. this time around I got WeakSauce root and used Firewater to S-off.. I already re-installed the stock recovery and splash.zip.
I am still on stock ROM right now. I was told the it is OK to be unlocked for a cosmetic issue as long as i don't have any 'unsupported software' on the device (I guess because they do a factory reset when they get it).
Is there anything else anyone thinks I am missing before I send this baby in to HTC?
Thanks in advance!
If you're S-Off I would just lock the bootloader with scotty123 guide. Why risk an unlocked bootloader it takes less than a minute to put in a couple adb commands. When you get it back you can unlock it just as easily. Is there a tampered flag on hboot? Or red text on splash screen?

No tampered flag on Hboot, no red text on splash screen. I thought S-off was already unlocked? There was no HTCdev unlock on my Verizon version. It was blocked by Verizon.

I have T-Mobile so I had to unlock bootloader first then S-Off. Looks like you're good to go then. What does it say on you're hboot at the top? Locked or unlocked? Didn't you have to unlock bootloader to flash a custom recovery or does being S-Off bypass that requirement?

S-off apparently unlocks the boot loader. It says unlocked but I never unlocked it.

You can just lock it again using the good by Scott1223 and leave s-off. Once you get it back you can quickly unlock it again and flash custom recovery.

I'm not sure what I flashed to cause this issue. I used sunshine months back and acquired s-off and unlocked bootloader. Now when I go to bootloader, it says locked and s-on. I ran sunshine again and it told me I was already s-off, and there was nothing to do. How do I get things back to saying s-off and unlocked?? Is there a tool to flash and toggle?? I was going to use my unlock key from HTC dev, but I don't want to wipe all my data. What is the best solution??

I have no solution for you, and I doubt anyone here will. Post your problem on the Sunshine S-Off thread. You will probably find some help there.
Copy and paste what you posted here in the reply I am quoting. Also state that you started a thread and you are sorry for cross posting, but that is what was advised. Good luck! I hope you get your stuff fixed up right.
maybe you have custom bootloader with faked S-ON and faked LOCKED message?
