There are several different versions of the 7 in (at least 5 that I know of). You need to figure out which one you have and whether you flashed the correct firmware for that version.

Yes a boot animation from another device will work on your phone. Download rom toolbox to find out how to do it easily or choose one of the hundred or so they have on it

Hi,
I am currently in Dubai with a Galaxy Grand Duos purchased in India. I am trying to use the phone in Office. Usually it just connects fine but some-days, it wont even see the AP. I am guessing this is because the Channel that the AP is ON. One of my friend is using S3 and has no issues. One other friend is using Note 2 and he is also facing the same issue. I am guessing, this is a Chipset issue since AFAIK, Grand supports connecting to 5180 MHz and similar Network. Others with iPhone and Lumia do not face this issue.
Any way around it? I do not have access to AP since this is Office Network. Attached Screenshot is using 'inssider' from Windows 7.
Try to update to 4.2.2. It might solve the drop network issue.

Which one would you suggest? I see two or three currently but I heavily use it for Office Work so stability is the key. Also, I do need full support for 2 SIMs. Please suggest.

I use the Russian stock 4.2.2.. My benchmark score jumped from 7,000+ on 4.1.2 to more than 10,000 on it. Dual sim is important to me so I don't use the likes of AOSP,MIUI, CM, Pacman, etc all of which have no dual sim support. I am in Muscat, Oman BTW and I use the University wifi.

hi. im a hardcore samsung fan but now im kinda bored of it. just sold my galaxy S4 yesterday. now i wanted to jump to LG and see if its good or not.
i have heard a lot good about this phone. im kinda power user (if thats a thing ) cause i like to try new roms and tweak a lot with my phone. every body knows samsung gets the most love from developers because of so many users and there are tens of roms to choose from for sammy phones.
its my first time with LG phone so, im confused like HELL! cause i see there are like 5 versions of Optimus G pro.
my question here is which version should i buy which has easy Rooting and the most number of roms?
as i have already said i dont use the phone much for other things like TV (i guess there is TV antenna in the korean model) i just keep changing and trying out new roms. so which version should i get which had the most love of devs here? should i get the E980, E986 or E988
and how to check the EXACT MODEL NO while buying?
thanks

Man if I were in your place I wouldn't have sold the s4 ull be underwhelmed by the contrast of this screen like I was when I switched to this phone and also the contrast of the camera but it has much better build quality than s4
Its a really good phone no doubt but the s4 is just better including the developer support if I were you I would get the new HTC one or wait until the s5 comes out but if that's not in your budget. The g2 is a lot better than this and not much more expensive either I would recommend that it also has a much better camera another option is the note 3 but that is also quite expensive
But if your set on getting this phone I won't stop you cause I literally can't
You can confirm the version by going to the settings > about phone> phone identity
You can also confirm it by taking off the back cover and battery u will find the imei number and version of this phone

I may keep my 4.2.2 as I have it the way I like it. Bug free and clean.
Annoying the hell out of me checking for an update daily.....
If anyone has info please let me know, looking forward to unleashing notifications on my gear

Good rule of thumb here, regarding his topic: if you have to ask, the answer is no. Believe me, as soon as any information is known, somebody will make a thread about it. But generally speaking, if all you see are threads about "when are we getting KK," the implication is that the answer is unknown. For the record, there is one thread regarding this in the Q&A section, and two threads in the General section, all on the front page.
What exactly does KK have that is so important? I really don't see why people are so worried about this update coming out. Will the experience of using the note 8.0 be dramatically different on 4.4? Someone please fill me in.
Me myself I'm not that anxious for it. But people like the OP would like to pair it with Gear devices.

It's not KK as much as it is some issues that I have running 4.1.2 on my AT&T variant. I still get the screen freeze bug which annoys me to no end. So yeah, I would like the upgrade so I don't have to deal with things that should've been working outside of the box.

Unless you want compatibility with Gear (which is not guaranteed) or think that 4.4.2 will fix some bug that's present in your current setup, the answer is that there is nothing substantially different. I am running official 4.4.2 on my Galaxy S4. Outside of the information bar icon color scheme and the fact that most apps can no longer access the SD card, nothing is better, faster, etc. It looks, feels, and performs exactly the same.

I guess I'm fortunate that I don't know what Gear is.
The only bug I'm having on 4.2.2 is the multi-window button disappearing sometimes even when the feature is turned on. Besides that, everything is working smoothly.
The new update is important for
1. Trim is included in 4.3 onwards..makes your tab faster
2. Air command for s pen ...unleashes the power of the s pen
3. Less ram consumption and faster on kit kat
4. Blue tooth LE. ..faster and lower battery consumption
5. New flatter icons and UI....consume less system space....faster device
6. Support for gear devices
The cons...
1. Knox bootloader
2. Sd card read and write issues
Both these cons can be solved by rooting and Dev help on xda

There has not been any indication that we would get this feature. Chances are, we will not. If the Note 2 gets it, then perhaps, but if not, we're not getting it for sure. As far as I know, the Note 2 does not currently have Air Command.

Sure, but the bluetooth device would have to support it as well AFIK. In addition, we don't know if the bluetooth radio in our tabs is actually even capable of low energy. Since the hardware in our device is relatively old, it may not be capable and therefore not support Galaxy Gear. Looking at the Galaxy Gear info page, the Note 2 is not listed as being supported. Rumors say that Gear support is coming to the Note 2.

1. Maybe
2. Yes. Android 4.4.2 blocks 3rd party app access to the SD card. Easily fixed, but needs root like you said.
In summary, everything that everyone is hoping the get with the update will likely not happen, either due to hardware incompatibility or Samsung's unwillingness. Chances are, this update will be just like the update for the S4...updated status bar color scheme, a little better UI for multiwindow, and a version number bump.
I have a note 2 with leaked Samsung 4.4.2... running the ditto note 3 rom v4RC2
I have all note 3 apps (including air command) and s5 apps (including ultra power saving mode) on it.
Compatible with gear and has blue tooth LE working well even on official 4.3 on the note 2
Trust me. .. with what i have said. .
Also Trim is in the official 4.3 for note 2... you can check the app on titanium back up
If we get 4.3.. we can get all note 3 apps. .including air command... by mod
Once we get the update. . We can ask the e team to make the custom rom or mods for us. .. just needs 10 days

How about the ability to move applications and data onto the SD card? This is a biggie for me! I am running several mapping applications where the maps need to be stored locally, and they take up all my internal storage. It would be nice to use that empty 32gb SD card I purchased for this thing!

Yes but I think he was referring to a few posts about Google removing this functionality from 4.4.2. Not sure about it myself, but if it's true I read somewhere here on XdA that it can be fixed with root and an app from the Play Store.

I had one of these and sold it because there was nothing you could do to upgrade it. I don't think they sold enough of this model for anyone to justify the amount of time it would take to build/debug a custom ROM. It can be rooted and TWRP can be installed but that still leaves you with a MM ROM. If you want a Tab S 10.5 with a custom ROM, you might as well sell this one and get the wifi only version.

I don't really see any reason why this device cannot use the other T800 or T805 ROMS. LTE may not work but everything else should.
It doesn't have a locked bootloader so should be a trivial affair to Install with TWRP.
You may be right. Mine had the touch screen freezing issue so I decided just to sell it (with full disclosure of the issue.)
When I try the t805 roms I get an error. I fugured the t800 roms wouldnt work because the t087x's have a diff cpu.
