I downloaded ProxyDroid and used a free proxy listed on http://www.idcloak.com/proxylist/proxy-list.html
Set up the proxy and turned it on, but it doesn't seem to be being used by any of the Internet tools, Chrome, YouTube etc...
Anyone use something like this?
Stock Rom Rooted.

Hi,
Anyway to lock down the proxy settings in the connection manager?
At work we have a different proxy to access the internet via a pc than the one we use on the mobile devices.
When the device is synched up, it will pull in the proxy setting from the pc, resulting in the user not being able to access the internet.
Any way to stop it picking up the setting on sync?
Cheers
Funny thing, I have set everything up, when I connect through internet sharing on my PC it works, but internet explorer keeps poping up the message that it can not connect. I have tried everything, any idea?
Thanks
You might want to check if you have a proxy enabled. For example if i load the standard telstra rom i cant browse until i disable their proxy setting in the rom. Also check for proxy on the pc browser. Worth a look. Also see if your sharing is using a different access point. Cheers.
I'm trying to use internet passthrough at work. The problem is that we have a proxy that requires NTLM authentication. So I tried setting up an intermediate proxy on my windows xp machine, then I setup DHD to use the intermidate proxy (using Proxy Settings from the market).
This only works with the browser as it has built in support for communicating with proxy servers. other application don't work.
I'm wondering if any of the following is possible:
1- setup proxy in dhd in a way that is invisible to most applications and don't have to rely of application support for using a proxy server.
2- use some program/setting on my computer that manages connections with the proxy server in a way that is invisible to HTC Sync and DHD
+1 for the same question.
I hope someone know the procedure and I hope even more it's possible.
It would be a shame that shuch device doesn't offer that feature.

+1 for that!!
I'm in the same boat, anyone have a solution to this yet?
+1
still no solution?
+1 too.
Kind of glad to see I'm not the only one looking for a solution
i tried with no luck with widecap to proxify the process htcnat.exe adb.exe and another 2 but it's a really overwhelming configuration, furthermore the service in windows is run by the SYSTEM user and it should be changed to the user running widecap to have it trying recognizing it.
unfortunately even with all configured i think in the correct way i was not able to use the proxy, widecap was still refusing to proxify internet pass trhough.
there is another product called freecap on which is based widecap but i still havn't tried it (and the next week i will be on holidays so i won't try it soon ^^' )
solved by installing TransProxy 3.0.8 beta on android

ProxyDroid
I used ProxyDroid (needs root). It also supports NTLM authentication.

Hey did you find a solution? I'm facing the same issue for a long time !!!
Hi,
i can't connect to any web site using the internet browser or any of the alternative i've tryed (dolphin, skyfire, opera...)
It works fine in wifi but as soon as i switch to data, i can't surf. All apps works fine, ebay, facebook, it only happens when trying to access a web page.
I'm using leedroid but i don't think it's related. I've tryed a full wipe and it's working. So my guess is some settings are messed up.
Is there a way to clear all web browsers data instead of full wipe ?
Thanks.
Nevermind, I've just reset dolphin settings to default and it works.
Hi, i have the same problem and i found this thread but i dont want to do a full reset of the phone.
I have the original ROM and i had been using the internet browser and apps without problem, also with WiFi, Internet passthrough and with 3G.
But 3 days ago after been navigating with Internet passthrough from my PC, then i couldnt use anymore the Internet Browser with 3G. The rare thing is that i can use all the other apps using internet 3G, like Tapatalk, Facebook, Weather...
I tryed different thins lika a "task killer" app, "restart" the phone, check the "Settings" in the Browser for any proxy configuration, then i "reset to default" the Browser configuration... but nothing works.
I have to add that is i use WiFi or Internet Passthrough conection, the Internet Browser works great, but only doesnt with 3G conection.
I would appreciate any advice, thanks in advance.
Well, problem solved. It seems to be that there is something in the configuration of my APN that allows to works without problems the apps, but not the internet browsers (default browser and dolphin). After some changes (i really dont know wich was the change that solved the problem), the browsers start to work fine.
I have a Wifi network in my workplace that goes through a HTTP proxy to access the Internet. I'm looking for a way to set a global proxy on my DZ, so that traffic from all apps will automatically go through it.
I've tried ProxyDroid app, but it either doesn't work or I don't know how to set it up: I type in my proxy settings, proxy is set to global and the app says it's connected, but no app can access the web.
I'm on InsertCoin 1.6.1 rom, su is up to date and superuser reports that ProxyDroid has been granted root access.
Can someone help?
