Hi at all..

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38438579&postcount=1
Can someone help me?
If I do a Wipe Data and/or Factory reset i lose all pitcure, song and the backup precendtly did?
Thanks
K.
Also backup your baseband if this is not the international version, EFS + BASEBAND are THE ONLY essentials. I assume you have a custom recovery installed ( CWM / TWRP). If you do , perform a full Nandroid backup ( just select backup/restore and backup in CWM). That should make a full backup on your phone storage , which can be restored if something goes wrong.

Hi,
I've done a nandroid backup to my CM10 rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1945441)
then I've tried to do a restore (using a different sd card with the same partition)
well, the rom is stuck on boot, and after restoring it also to the original card it is also get stuck on boot.
I have 4ext recovery touch v1.0.0.4 RC3
do you have any suggestions? beside installing the rom again....
if you need more info please ask.
tnx!
Did u full wipe before u restored the backup? Did u change hboots?
Sent from my HTC Desire
did everything....
I've tried without full wipe, and with full wipe
I've tried restoring only the data,
I've even updated now to the latest 4ext recovery touch
nothing worked.............
any idea what can I do?
tnx, Nitzan

to restore nandroid u have to do a full wipe first. what recovery did u do the nandroid with? if 4ext recovery then boot recovery and goto
wipe/format
format all partitions except sdcard
then
backup/restore
and restore nandroid.
also make sure u have the same hboot from when u made the nandroid backup.

I've done exactly that, and it doesn't work
The question is where the problem lays? The recovery? The backup itself? Or maybe the rom?
hello guys, i am using PA rom now, but i want to test another rom, but i have so much apps and so much configurations, is all in titanium backup but every time i install a new rom i must restore data for apps i want, so i was wondering, nandroid backup can restore all my files and even the rom that i was using? and about performance, when i want to go back to PA, is better restore a nandroid backup o clean flash and reinstall all apps?
and about the procedures is like this:
Nandroid of ROM 1
wipe and flash ROM 2
wipe and restore nandroid backup.
my question is about the correct procedure to restore, do i need to wipe data before?
i like to test s much roms but is so bad to take about 3 hours to configure everything when i come back to the i was before.
thanks in advance

Titanium Backup and Carbon(Helium now ) doesn't cause any issue due they restore only /data/data/APP datas
Wipe data is need (ALWAYS) over Rom switching for different Settings and Features, e.g:
AOKP -> PA : Full data wipe ( i prefer add wipe system due nightly script recovery that keep gapps ) + Restore Carbon is right procedure
Pa -> Pa: in theory you need only wipe cache & dalvik
Nandroid is evil, restore nandroid data backup is same of dont do anywipe due nandroid make image of data partitions, and reflash it
Nandroid is usefull only as backup ( data lost or nightly fail or something like this )
I suggest anyway over change rom , delete /sdcard/Android for new system base.
so use a nandroid is valid? no performance loss when using it?
i want to try codex rom but i already setup everything i wanted on PA and i dont want to flash codex, and if i dont like and want to go back to PA i must setup everything again. this is the main reason i don not flash roms to much. i few months ago i never stayed in same rom for a week, but now i am tired to setup the same things again.
so if i make a nandroid of my current rom, flash codex test a few days, and restore nandroid everything will be fine like was before?
Hi everybody!
I'll explain to you my problem: i had SkyDragon v15 custom rom and i made a nandroid backup of it. I were used to restore my stock rom with another nandroid and vice versa.
today i flashed cyanogen mod for my one x, but none of previous nandroid backups works(i still have the rom zip and all the backups on my phone). I tried even wiping dalvik and data, but without luck.
what could be the problem?
Flashed the boot.img from the particular nandroid backup you want to restore ?
And before restoring a nandroid you must make a full wipe !
I took a Nandroid backup of my stock phone (all partitions) before I flashed a new ROM (DN3). Then I decided to return to stock ROM, so I wiped phone and restored Nandroid backup (all partitions except bootloader and recovery).
Now the phone will not boot, it just shows a logo and then a black screen. I can connect to it via ADB however.
I thought Nandroid backup was a safe way of preserving phone, but it seems it cannot actually be trusted?

depends on bootloader i guess, but maybe try wipe data and preload / cache and dalvik and reflash, make sure ROM to flash is on external sdcard as may lose all data on phone
Having the same issue after re-partitioning my phone. My nandroid backup is about 2.3gb and it took about 200 seconds to restore. Nothing was actually restored when I booted up. (This nandroid was made to my SD-Card, wonder if that makes any difference.

guys in philz recovery i noticed under backup and restore i can backup or restore just apps or data , is it actually working ? so i can flash any rom and go too my backups and just restore all my apps and data on the new rom?just a piece of cake?
another question is if this is true , and i could be able to restore all the apps and data, can i choose some apps? i think the system apps are included in the backup and restoring them to the new rom should cause problems.
