Eventually, your device will receive an OTA update. For some reason, these staged rollouts by Google are really slow. However, you are able to flash the update by using the factory image

You can side load using the simple steps given here. Make sure you have installed Google USB driver so that adb can recognise your device. http://www.androidcentral.com/how-manually-update-your-nexus-tablet-kitkat

Hi i received yesterday the jb update notice but it didn't work,i don't know if because i moved away of the wifi zone or because my bootloader is unlocked, now I'm trying to check for updates on the about zone and nothing happens.
I'm running yakyu 4.0.4 upgraded by me from yakyuwx 4.0.2; does anyone knows why the jb upgrade didn't work? Will it come back? I don't want to flash it.
Screenshot attached.
By the way, my phone is gsm unlocked bought in Amazon and i live in PerĂº.
Thanks in advance.

Supposedly starting today you do not need to be on wifi for the update - though I do not know why you wouldn't want to be.
Try going into settings - apps - select all - scroll down and select "Google Services Framework" - then clear data.
Try and check for update again - Worked for me.
You don't have the correct radio and/or bootloader installed for yakju.
Radio is xxla2 and bootloader is prime 03.

Might that be,i upgraded to yakyu following a tutorial from webtrickz.com, haven't read anything there about radio and bootloader version, where can i read to upgrade them?, are them reeeeally necessary?
Thanks in advance

Well, I just flashed the xxla2 radio and a recovery image file, afterwards I cleared the data from Services Network and now the update is downloading, hopefully this time the JB OTA WILL work

Hi,
I just got GN few days ago and I was surprised to see that it hasn't got the JB update yet as my Nexus S got the update before month or so..!
So, I want to know if is there any way that I can update GN to JB without rooting??
Please let me know!
Thanks,

You can't update without root until you get it OTA, but you can flash the full ROM. See the "flash" link in my signature.

Well is your GN yakju or takju?
If its either then hitting system update will prompt you the OTA.
You can also try the clearing Google Service Framework and hitting the System Update.

well you're not rooting... so technically, you never have to have root to update to JB.

Yeah, to flash the full images, you don't need root, but you need an unlocked bootloader.
But I was talking about updating, not re-flashing a ROM: if you want to "update" your existing build to JB, you either need to get it OTA, or download it and move it to /cache (root required), or apply it via CWM (either root or an unlocked bootloader required).

technically it depends what version of GN is he using...shouldn't be a problem if he's on yakju or takju...

Well for one is it American or European? GSM or CDMA? Buy it off the Play Store?
If it's CDMA you would have to unlock and use custom recovery to install 4.1, but it would be very simple to do and there are completely stock 4.1 builds that work flawlessly.

I would suggest going into the Galaxy Nexus forums and looking for your stock recovery.
There will be folks there with the same device and issues you are having that can more specifically help you with that.
You are in the Verizon HTC One forums.
We don't have a 4.3 OTA yet and no files from our device will help you.
Surely there are lots of folks willing and able to help in the proper device forum though.
Good luck!

It's running build KRT16S android 4.4.
When I check under system updates it says there are none available and system is up to date. Any suggestions on how to get my tablet to see the ota to update to 4.4.2 or do I just need to do it manually.
Thanks

If push comes to shove, grab Wug's Toolbox and install KOT49H, then reroot.
Do I need to unlock bootloader first. Seems like it's stock locked.

Yes. Wug's toolkit offers this.

Or simply use fastboot and run fastboot oem unlock to unlock the bootloader. Please note that your data will be wiped after unlocking.
Hi everyone,
I have a dev edition m9. I updated to marshmallow via OTA earlier today. The update is working fine. I flashed TWRP 2.8.7.0 and that's working fine as well. But when I try to root the system, it gets stuck on the HTC logo. I have tried it with SuperSU 2.46 (stable) and 2.52 (beta). Both times, I had to reboot into recovery, wipe cache and restore the system image backup to get my system back in working state. Please help as I need root access. Thanks.

Your bootloader is the animation when u power on the device watch the videos on YouTube ...just search nexus 5x root there are a few I know its a different phone than u have but the process will be very similar

It talks about flashing a modified boot. I haven't seen any boot image corresponding to the M9.
U said u just got the ota today ,correct?.... Just keep checking in for it ....I'm sure it'll be available in a week or two

@bigduke$: That's not really the solution for that problem. The M9 doesn't get rooted the same way the Nexus 5x does.
@slvrhwk: You need to use SuperSU 2.65 and TWRP 2.8.7.1-Beta1. Android M needs system-less root that's why your system didn't boot.
