Hi
I have big problem with my HTC. When i trying to play some videos on for example MX Player or some other player, video is lagging and sometimes frames stop and only sound is playing.
The only thing I have done in this phone was rooting.
What I have to do to repair this?
Oh, and it's quite weird but youtube videos are playing without problems.

Explain the rom you are running, or any kernel you flashed or maybe any data2sd scripts you are using

Use mx player free, go to its settings/decoder, set it to software decoder (i suggest not to use fast mode since it lessens the video quality), there you go, no you can even play 720p videos without any lags.
The default Gallery app also plays avi, mp4 and mkv video files
I use VPlayer, not free though, but can view hd mkv without problem.
I've used the standard movie player in the stock Rom. Played my AVI and mkv fine.

Hello friends..
I want to know which is the best video player which can play mkv m4v and mp4? I tried player pro, mobo, double twist, and default.. Not evn one player can play those files.. I have 10 tb of hd movies.. Thought to watch them on arc s while sleeping :-D

I use Mobo Player. If a file doesn't play, you can force Software Rendering. That way, it played almost every file I threw at it.

+1 for MX Player

Right now I believe the best player is MX Player's latest edition.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.pro
Dice Player is also good, but MX player rocks. It's the only one for me that can play 720p .mkv video files (series mostly).
yup...MX player did the trick..i watched two 1080p movies without any lag..well lil lag in b/w but nothing major Thanks guys for your response
BSPlayer?
Might wanna give BSPlayer a try - very similar to dice and mx but what I like about is that it automatically tries to fetch appropriate subs and that it actually works surprisingly well
Either way u can't really go wrong with these three.
I just flashed this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604415
Now all the videos run very slow and it almost impossibole to watch movies with the pohone.
Someone knows a solution??

I use MX PLAYER but I tried more players and it stiil dosen't work...
This is driving me nuts, got the 8 as an anime player since the tegra processor in the nexus played mkvs well, thought this would too. Nope, mxplayer errors outon all videos, and what is odd is the stock video player plays half of them but not all. It isnt an issue with 10bit, as it will play a 10bit cile I have but some older ones it only will play a few of them. How would I go about finding the cause and fixin it?
Try change to s/w decoder not sure if you have tried it, its default setting is h/w

For some reason h/w mode gives problems on almost all my videos. Weird glitches like audio and video being WAY out of sync and s/w mode fixes all that.

I use the archos player no issues so far with any videos.

Hi there all.
This is a simple question: what's the best video player for the Xperia Play? I mean, for playing HD (720p, not 1080p) content.
I used a lot Moboplayer, but it slows a lot in HD videos, even installing the codecs... And the latest versions of Moboplayer take a while to start and it's a bit annoying...
What video player do you use for HD content? Please, if the recommendation you give needs some codec, say wich one (a direct link can be even more helpfull!).

I installed MX Player and it worked fine with anime episodes in 720p, and without any codec!
