Im having a problem on my recently rooted/unlocked/updated to 4.1.2 Op G.
The screen stays on continuously while phone is off and plugged in. I checked developer options and screen options and time outs are all set to 30 seconds.
Anyone else having this problem? Is there a fix anywhere?
I also find that the charging animation comes on if i hit the power button while the phone is off and charging but eventually it goes away and the screen stays on.
Also if the phone/screen are both off and then I plug in the phone the screen comes on and stays on.....
help?
I have this too. When I turn the phone off and charge it you can see the screen is barely lit. I noticed it when I unlocked, so assume that is the cause of it

Miners done this for as long as I can remember, but it doesn't seem to cause any sort of problems, so I've always just ignored it

saw this as recently as last night. I just waited until the battery was charged a little and turned it on to make sure everything was fine. Weirded me out though lol.
This morning when I woke up, my phone was in download mode and had the charger connected (the original that came with the phone), so I disconnected it at turned it off and and on. The phone boot up perfect, I connected it again and OMG! Download Mode Again! It happens every time I connect the charger. Any thoughts?

So I guess I bricked my phone when I tried taking it back to stock... The phone will not turn on, will not respond to any charger, WILL NOT DO ANYTHING............................
Honestly I have taken mine to the point a few times. First time I drained the battery to the point it was there. See if u can get to dl mode plugged in with no battery.
Second time something weird happed at a strange point in the flahs...and I really thought I toasted it.I reluctantly did as it said in the "so u bricked ur epic" thread and un plugged it, removed sd card, removed battery and let it sit for an hour. I am not playing when I said it worked for some reason. If I read it I would not have believed it but that is the way it went. Give it a whirl....noot like u can mess it up more. There is a guy who will recover it if it is really toast...via jtag

Hold "1" on keyboard and plug it in, should get you inside Download Mode.

The screen doesn't show a battery when the phone is off and plugged in?

So I noticed last night when I got up.. the phone screen background was kinda glowing like the area around the screen.. it was plugged into my laptop... So whatever I did to bring it back to stock shut off everything.. it looks like it could be working but no screen, no led charge light, no keyboard light no vibrate on button press.. nothing?????

This just happened to me, after a bad odin back-to-stock trying to fix some problems the phone just turn off, no screen, no leds. The phone is dead, can´t access to download mode either. I change the usb cable but didn't show any sign of life. After about 30 min of giving up, I tried pressing the Turn On/Off + 1 buttons, trying to access Download mode several time just hoping it magically works, and suddenly there it is, Download mode. After that, phone is working.
Not sure is this would help, but it least I tell me experience. Good Luck.

That is what I have seen to. As suggested above... rip the card and battery and let it sit for a while (hr plus I would say) and try again with no battery to get to dl mode.

Still red blinking led and i have no idea how to fix this i can fix everything fine i just didnt have the time too flash boot.img so that will fix it it is fustrating because my mom's in hospital and this is the only prime source of contact i have with her thanks if oyu can fix this by the way i have the international version
Try to hold power button more then 10 seconds and see if it helps.
Try different chargers, devices.
Sometimes my phone won't charge from the wall, then fails on my computer and then magically works on the wall after.

Hi, the device cannot be turned off while charging. is it normal with this room?
How to reproduce:
- shutdown the phone
- plug in the charger
Expected result:
- phone showing battery animation after plugged in, screen goes blank later, phone is off
Actual resut:
- phone turns on and boots to Android.
PD: sorry for posting here, but i can't pot in Dev section
Yeah, that's totally normal. As far as I know, the only ROMs that do that are stock. And, if you have a question, it goes here, not the dev section.
