so i know that the Gaaxy tab 3 10.1 has a intel chip inside ...
do`s somebody know if there is a way to dalboot or usb boot windows8 on to it?
i think its passible because the SGT3 10.1 is x86
so my question is, it should work to make a bootable usb stick over OTG cable and install it or would i not work because of the Patition or the bootloader installed on the SGT
i forgot there is allready a post about this Q

You also need bootloader. Like lots of chrome books are x86 but you won't be able to install windows on them.
Maybe a pure copy of Windows Surface's partition table could fix all this...
Besides, Windows 8 RT is for ARM processors, so x86 shouldn't be a problem at all...
And I think it's a Quad Core processor, two ARMv7, two x86.
You should take a look at System State applications, or CPU diagnostics.

@RubenStauttener From what I know it has an atom Z2560 as seen in the screenshot and NO other ARM processors.
I'm pretty sure Windows 8 can be installed on this.
I think AdamOutler has been doing some work on the PIT files used to partition samsung stuff. I'm pretty sure that'll help

Filesystem
Is there a way to view the file system of the emulator? Some of the original emulator unlocks seemed to have this feature but I haven't been able to find discussion of it with the more recent updates.
Any advice on how to view the root directories?
Is this a full rom with all the features on it ? (phone, xbox, etc)
Windows Phone 7 Emulator Unlocked - can't unzip
I have tried downloading the file, but WinRAR and Windows Explorer both say that the file is corrupt, and I can't unzip it. I have also tried following the directions to unlock it myself, but when I open up my bin file, everything is using the Cyrillic alphabet, so I don't know where to find the changes to make.
Suggestions?

Unfortunately, no. Even the original emulator that was super easy to crack and allowed almost-everything-under-the-sun didn't allow that unfortunately. It sucks because it looks like the new emulator is severely nerfed now where at least I could show off the basic functionality before. I hope MS goes back and gives us a ROM that does a little more 1:1 with a functional device. Not like I'd rather use the emulator than my phone anyway.

Trouble installing drivers for Windows 7 64bit
Hi, I have downloaded, installed, rebooted, etc about 6 times for different driver install files, including this newest one posted. I've tried both 32 and 64bit, and they cannot finish installing for some reason - saying it failed each time.
What is going to be a fail-proof way to get these installed on a Windows 7 Ultimate, 64bit OS??
(also tried plugging in my phone, double-clicking the Unknown Device on the USB hub, and updating Device Driver manually from the dir SAMSUNG/USB Drivers)
THANKS!!

Ignore the failed setup message at the end of installation and reboot afterwards.
Check installed programs in windows control panel. When you see the samsung drivers in there with correct version number, it's installed fine.

It's an app called SystemInfo from ShellDogfood package. I'm waiting for someone to reply here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=910725 I just need to build those modules to an exe and dlls, then we might have it on fully unlocked phones too Well it's signed by MS so there might be some hope for stock ROMs too, but it would only be useful for developers.

the skate acqua has a 1ghz processor =)

I build a test rom with the ShellDogfood package and it brings up an extra oobe screen on first boot , but the SystemInfoExe.exe doesn't work like I hoped (this could be because of fullunlock v3)
will test some more (it is cooked in a custom samsung omnia7 rom)

The ShellDogfood is from a really old rom from 2010, same build that was in the first public WP7S emulator, so the APIs might have changed and it does not work because of that.

Hi,
I flashed my Xperia Pro MK16i with the PACman 4.1.2 ROM 19.3. But it is still unable to detect pendrives on USB OTG. I tried installing USB OTG Helper but it wouldn't detect my pendrive. I found a video on one of the links on this forum which showed copying some modules to the root. I tried that too, but didn't help. Can anybody kindly explain me the steps to follow?
Thanks!
First, try to install it on linux system. If it doesn't work there, it doesn't work on android. But if you'll find driver for, you can try to compile it for your android linux kernel.

Install what on linux?
Hi,
i assume you got the usb-storage.ko installed at /system/lib/modules...
Install Android terminal or use adb to check your kernel output by typing dmesg at the prompt.
Some USB sticks ask for too much power during enumeration.
The kernel will block the access in that case.
On the Xperia 2011 devices we are limited to 300mA maximum at the OTG port using host mode.
Quoted from the datasheet of the charger IC:
VBUS is regulated to 5V at up to 300mA to power USB OTG peripherals

I realized this several times as well.
Many cheap sticks use the default setting in their firmware and ask for 500mA, which is too much for our phones.
Hope this helps!

scholbert

You meant this? Well that's sad. It even detected the model number of my pendrive! And i'm guessing there's no workaround?
Thanks scholbert.
I'll double check on the power requirements on that pendrive and update. I want to see if it really asks for more than 300mA.

Yeah that's the message you get.
During enumeration, there's a request from host to device how much power is needed after fully initializing the hardware.
Sadly most USB stick manufacturers leave this entry in their USB memory controllers as default to 500mA,
because this is the current given in the USB spec.
In fact this is little stupid because most USB sticks do consume less than 200mA in real environment.
If you ask for a work around... then i would say: Try another stick!
If you like hacking hardware... then well yes you may tweak your stick by using factory tools and re-programm the entry which is checked during current request
You may start your search here: http://flashboot.ru/index.php?name=iflash&vord=0&pord=&pagenum=16
On a quick sight there's no real factory tool for the SM3255 available

Apart form measure the real current, you may check this with lusb -v on a Linux machine or digg deep in the Windows driver information with your stick attached.

Hi,
So I am running stock android unrooted.
I have managed to run Kali Linux in a emulated version on my fold called Termux.
I can work on it as I would on a PC. Many things are lacking but I installed what was lacking.
So my question is can I do the same with windows ?
I looked on playstore and couldn't find any kind of VMware for android devices.
Does anyone know of a VM like software for android ?
I would rather play my steam games on the mobile then run about playing with Aircrack.

The Limbo Emulator would be cool assuming it works ok. My obvious concern is that the bluetooth and more importantly wifi would not function. I will be interested to hear results if anyone give it a try.
Ok I am willing to give this a try. I have installed the Limbo Emulator - but I have questions on how to create the needed windows 10 VHD file - I know I have everything I need to do it , including the windows 10 ISO file. Anyone point me to how to create a proper VHD file? I assume it needs to be bootable and all that but I have found nothing via google that I'm convinced is what I need to do.

Also if anyone has tried this for fold 4 does everything work ?
