Any Rooting apps like z4mod that will work without a use of a pc? I just got this awesome device today. I came from the vibrant. I just want to be rooted for now. Don't want to install a rom. Root explorer or ES file explorer and delete apps you don't want in /system/ app

Mind you, for system apps you will need root access.
Titanium backup and root paid version just freeze them.

What bloatware do you think is in your Nexus 7 anyway? Just disable them using the built-in mechanism, no need to remove anything.
Yea I've compiled aroma installers just for removing bloatware but this is usually carrier related garbage or touchwiz/motoblur/sense stuff. None of that exists here so I wouldn't even spend the time creating that. I don't think there is any bloatware here just maybe "unwanted" apps. which once rooted can be easily removed or just frozen/disabled.
where are bloatwares in a stock jellybean rom?simply deactivate what you don't want\like..no need to cancel..for example a rom like bamf has built-in the tool to deactivate system\apps.very usefull for a person in yours position..
As a matter of interest what apps/files can be frozen via titanium? Anyone got a list of which are safe to remove?

I'm interested in this too. My device isn't yet rooted. You can force stop apps from settings but I believe they start up again at reboot which is annoying. Maybe time to root my device!

NO! There is a Disable button on the same screen with the Force Close that disables apps since ICS.

[Q] Remove Bloat Apps

So I just rooted my Note 2 and downloaded titanium backup and wanted to go about removing bloatware. The first thing I got rid of was sprint zone. Any other suggestions for manual removal?
thanks.
There is already a thread with a list

About rooting

Been a long time since I've been into rooting phones due to never needing it. I remember having an HTC hero which was kind of useless if not rooted. Now I own a note 2 and am wondering what would I gain from a root? Also could I still brick my phone? And if I decide to root could I transfer everything? (Messages, whatsapp, apps with their settings etc)
Thanks

Rooting your phone will definitely get many benefits (my opinion) For example do some system tweaks, remove system apps/bloatwares, or do something that requires root access. I don't know what you think about root, needed or not needed is depends on your needs bro... Hmm maybe I can say this, go check some apps that requires root, see if you need them, then decide to root or not...
You can root note 2 by using CF ROOT/NOTE 2 TOOLKIT/flash root zip file though custom recovery. Read the instructions is important mate... If you do I believe you won't brick your device/cause any problems...
Rooted device still can transfer data of course!

Sky on note 2 rooted

Is there anyway possible to watch sky on a rooted note 2???
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
I did read somewhere that you can bk up your root access and remove your superuser app, use sky then restore after but tbh the procedure was a lil long winded, and not a permanent fix.
It will depress you but have a look at this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506967

Basically no
I toggle root to get around this. Pain in the ass really and it MUST be stock rom and stock kernel.
Use OTA Rootkeeper to backup root. Then do a full cleanup supersu, and then restore root via OTA Rootkeeper. And toggle the temp unroot and reroot options within that.
Make sure you've fully closed skygo before using. Sky piss me off. ...
