Anyone noticed that the google maps doesn't give the phone number like it does on smaller phones?
Anyone know why? I have a n5110 that is my girls and I have a n5120 and neither one show the phone number of the item we search for in maps.

It is annoying, I wind up doing a split screen and manually inputting the number. On my N5100 (rooted but otherwise stock), the phone number appears, but is not a clickable link like on smartphones. I vaguely remember coming across this on my previous device, a Samsung i815 (100% stock). At the time I wrote it off as ICS knowing the telephony software was removed. But that's clearly not the case with the N5100, so that blows my theory up.
Can we side load a maps apk from an actual phone like the note 3?
Problem solved. When I updated Google Maps, the phone feature is now working.

Title says it all.
Yep, blocked or somethings gone wrong.
Market enabler says it is working and access is ready. Go into market, select all apps and then change view to paid.
Getting message "no matching content in Android Market"
Killed tasks, started phone from scratch and still the same.
No problems here...
anyone got any help here please?
I can still see paid apps with my rooted while unlocked hero using market enabler.
Fixed it.
Market enabler was defiantly blocked/or bust in on my phone. Reinstall of app failed, everything failed except for....well PM me for details because I ain't posting it here. I have a feeling it may have been a deliberate act either by Google or Netcom though I cannot see how the later could have achieved this.
Same here.
Worked a couple of days ago.
Not anymore.
Have Onecall and that uses telenor and network Norways net.
Not netcom. Is Google that is ****ing us over again.
Same here , since yesterday , i cannot see paid aps in Market with ME

Basically it says that 3.0 beta works if you set it to o2-de.
And I can confirm that it works (for how long, who knows)
Right now I'm buying out the market in case someone at Google decides it'll be a good idea to remove paid apps again.
I just wish I could actually locate CoPilot GPS....

Just tried,
It works when installing 3.0 beta like you said. I can also see CoPilot on the list of top paid apps.
Can you tell me if this:
http://www.cyrket.com/package/com.alk.copilot.marketplace.na.full
shows up?
Or if the North American one from here shows up:
http://www.alk.eu.com/copilot/android/
I tried both using all 4 profiles in ME3 and none show up.
Calm down, calm down.
As I said, I have sussed the problem and it is not the blocking of T-mobile. It is your operator resetting your location and there is a simple fix.
I have reproduced the problem and a a workaround. Think about it, how can the operator block you if you are on wifi? The market enabler spoofs the location of the phone so the operator sends a message to the unit to reset location back to the home country provider. Google then blocks that as it was before the phone was Market Enabled. All you have to do get the phone back into a position of spoofing its location.
They could not block access for the T-mobile spoof as that would piss of all American Android users on T-Mobile who are not spoofing but have it for real. Therefore country id, in the marketplace, must be a combination of two factors. Google has just found a way of resetting one. I worked out a way of putting it back.

Ummm, I guess you're right. It doesn't show up. I guess the US T-Mobile profile is blocked?
OH come on read please.
For the last sodding time it's not blocked! I am on the T-mobile spoof address after resetting my location!
or if nothing works anymore you go the easyest way like i do since yesterday..... takeout my Orange Swiss simcard, put it in my X1, make it as a router, put my german Simyo simcard into my hero and go online by wifi over X1 if im on the way or use my wify at home...... if using a german simcard oder another one from an activated country everything will work wherever you are
Because right now, it is missing a couple of things that are probably available, yet I have never found..
I am using the stock JB 4.1.2 on a Bell network Galaxy Nexus
- I would like to be able the Google Now voice search feature without having to touch the home button.. can't I set it up in some fashion to simply say "Google" from the lock screen instead of swiping to the Google button?
- I would like to have the phone read out my texts messages.. my friend has an S2 that has a Hands Free mode that detects when he is driving and speaks out his emails.. can't find something similar for the Nexus.
and speaking of Hands Free.. when you go to setting - Speech output you have a choice of Always of Hands-free only, but I have never found a way to turn on or set up a Hands-Free method of using the phone
- and finally.. has anyone ever gotten their phone to work with the SYNC system installed in Fords? I wish I could use the blue-tooth in SYNC to talk to Google now on my phone..

Skyvi will read your texts outloud.
Point 1 would require the microphone to be active all the time, killing battery, so I doubt it will happen.

The hands-free mode is probably only activated when it's in the car dock.

uk 4.2.2
i read i'm not only one but i didn't find solution
So I got the N-5120 LTE version, running Android 4.1.2., a couple of weeks ago. I'm very pleased with this versatile tablet. I intended to use this with Skype Out. Making Skype to Skype calls works fine through a BT headset. However when using Skype Out, calls are initiated through the headset, but as soon as they start, they are then switched over to the phones earspeaker. The loudspeaker function is not available for Skype Out.
Both the BT and the Speaker Phone functions are turned on/off only through Samsung's sofware, it seems, and then only once the call has started.
I can tell I'm not the only one with this challenge. That said, since there are so few complaining about this here I'm wondering if there are fixes?

I did. This is apparently a common problem among Note users on the Skype forum, and according to them, this appeared with the latest version of Skype. What to do?
1. Uninstall Skype through the Play store, as usual.
2. In the Google Play store, click on the uppermost left hand side corner, choose my apps, and unclick auto updating. Otherwise Skype will auto update to the new version again... BTW you will henceforth have to update all your apps manually.
3. On your unit, go to Settings, Security (the padlock symbol) and allow unknown sources of programs, outside of the Play store
4. Go here http://skype.en.uptodown.com/android/download/44494 and install the older version: Skype 3.2.06673
5. Go back to the Security, and deselect unknown sources if you want to lock down your device again.
This enabled me to make Skype Out calls with both headset and speakers. It's not entirely fool proof, as sometimes it starts on the speakers before handing over to the headset, but at least it works.

Let us know how it went. BTW, please go to Skype and assist in filing an Android Issue on
http://community.skype.com/t5/Android/How-to-create-a-good-Android-issue-report/td-p/211384
So v. 3.2.0.6673 was probably a blessing in disguise. Skype on Android via the loudspeaker or BT continues erratic behavior, although it's better than v. 4.5.. from that sspect I discovered on here that a bug in v 3.2.0.6673 allows an attacker to bypass the lock screen on your Android device.*
Yup the above method works

And as of Feb 18, 2012, v. 4.6.0.42007 the problem has been fixed. No need to use the insecure v 3.2 any more.
I see that the 10.1" (and I think 8.9") now have it enabled.
My wife wanted the 7" tablet since she rarely makes voice calls but wants to have the feature, just in case. We don't want Google Voice right now because of lack of MMS support across all carriers. Since we are paying for actual data, I'd like to be able to use the native GSM instead of a VOIP solution.
Any way to make this possible or should I return it for an actual phone?

I have the SM-T217A 7" AT&T Galaxy Tab 3 and also want to know this. Samsung says it has phone capabilities, however there is no stock phone app. I even have my own phone number set up through AT&T and everything, but there is no way to use it. I found an apk called CIQDialer.apk in system\app but it doesn't do anything. Any help would be awesome.
You should check the Play Store, theres should be apps for that.
I use T211, native make phone call, as long as you can insert sim card into your tab3 7.

I recently bought a new Nexus 7 (2013) LTE. Works great except the phone/dialer app does not show as an icon. The sim card is fully functional in another phone. In the Nexus it appears to be registering with the carrier and full bars showing. There appear to be three phone related apps installed, just no phone icons available to launch the phone/ dialer. After first getting the tablet it OTA upgraded to android 6.0.1. Was this model not intended to function like a cell phone or is it data only? Perhaps someone can clarify this for me. I am certain there is enough expertise here that might be able to answer my question. Thanks for any help you can provide.
