Hey guys, im about to sell my beloved GT-N5110 (gotta pay my rent). It is currently rooted, and running CivZ 4.2.2 ROM with SphereEngine 1.6 Kernel installed (rooted)
I was just wondering how would i go about unrooting the device, and installing the stock ROM that came with the device, as i don't want to sell it rooted.
Cheers!

Hi guys,
I'm new to Android, and I've recently rooted my Galaxy Note 2 (LTE) and I want to flash it back to stock ROM. I've searched the forums a bit, and I also know that there will be a counter indicating how many times I have flashed. My question is, is it possible to flash back to the stock ROM and making everything as if I were to purchase everything brand new?
Also, can I do an update OTA if I have rooted my device?

Hi all
I had a rooted S3 t999 with MOAR 6.0 installed, and I decided to flash Stock via Odin, flashed the 4.1.2 tar file for the device, and I got unrooted and went to stock...I upgraded to 4.3 when the update pushed by Samsung arrived.
I currently have my phone rooted and removed the Knox security, I want to try and flash other custom roms, will my phone get bricked if I decide to flash a 4.1.2 custom rom? I'm asking this just to make sure that I don't get a very expensive doorstep
Thanks for the advice!

You can flash any rom just don't odin any thing lower then 4.3 and don't flash anything to downgrade your bootloader and you will be fine.
Ok so is it safe to update a rooted phone or can it get bricked? I have a tmobile s3 currently running 4.1.2 and I want to update it but I want to know if its safe
Thanks in advance
If you're rooted and want a stock rooted 4.3 install, I highly recommend root66 thread. Stock installs are best done from scratch because modified system/app can stop the update or cause issues.
If you have a custom stock ROM you can just flash 4.3 ROMs from recovery. (TWRP, CWM)
I'd stick with the current boot loader you have if possible in case you want to downgrade later on.

In addition to what Last Sidekick said, I suggest you should read up on the effects and issues of 4.3 update. Particularly Knox and Warranty bit.

Hello all.
Hopeing i can get some help with my old telus t989d. I recently upgraded to an S5 and am going to give my phone to a friend. problem is that i rooted the device right after i got it and havent touched or updated anything in years. It is still on the very first firmware that it came with Android version: 2.3.5 kernel: 2.6.35.11.
My first question is do i need to update the recovery it is currently running CWM v5.0.2.6 and an extreamly old version of superuser.
Second question is can i do a factory wipe and flash a new ROM like CyanogenMod 11.0 or do i need to update the stock firmware first.
thats all i can think of right now. thanks in advance for any help
Odin flash the 4.1.2 firmware.
Odin flash CWM 6.0.4.4 or newer( or TWRP 2.6.1.0 or newer).
You shouldn't have any problem installing CM11 after you do those things.
Unless your friend is into rooting and what not, I'd definitely give it to him with stock 4.1.2 installed.
Otherwise there will always be some glitches.
Thanks all for the info. Tryed to go back to stock unrooted. That worked fine but when I Tryed to update through keys I made a brick. Oh well

hello all, i have a fresh out of the box T999, firmware ver 4.1.2, kernel ver ends w/ MD5. i need to upgrade the firmware on this phone to 4.4.x so i can run the Amazon Flex Delivery app on it, and am kinda confused as to what the proper route is to get there from stock 4.1.2... im reading about 4.3 adding Knox, tripping 'Modified' switches, etc and really just need to know what the upgrade path is and proper order. im familiar w/ using Odin and custom recoveries, but also read that just installing a custom recovery on this phone will trigger it into modified mode in a permanent way. dont care about being rooted, i dont even think the Amazon Delivery app will run on a rooted device.
any advice or info would be greatly appreciated, thx in advance all..
The last official update to the T-Mobile Galaxy S3 was Android 4.3. If you want 4.4 or higher, then you're going to have to flash a custom ROM. If you aren't comfortable flashing ROMs, then you'll need a newer phone.
I suggest using Odin to flash the latest ROM to your phone, install the app, and see if it runs.
