[Q] Stuck in bootloader - HTC One X

Hi all, first time posting here.
I've installed some custom roms whilst I've had this phone so I can follow instructions but I don't really know what I'm doing here. I was on a Sense custom rom and I was trying to revert back to stock and re-lock the bootloader. I looked through a million threads and ended up locking the bootloader - fine. Then I hit Factory Reset on the bootloader for some silly reason, now I am stuck in the bootloader and I can't seem to do anything. The battery is low now, I executed a script I found here through fastboot which seems to restart the phone repeatedly and charge it bit by bit, with the goal of running an RUU. This eventually gets just about high enough to do something if I'm quick.
I tried to run the 3.14.401.31 RUU I found from a source on xda, but it gives me "signature error [132]" after a couple of minutes when running this as admin. fastboot getvar version-main gives 3.14.401.600.
Basically I'm now completely stumped and I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some help? Happy to provide any more info if needed.
Thanks!

post the results of "fastboot getvar all" but delete the imei and serial number before you post it

And flash custom recovery (TWRP/CWM/...) once you get to the battery state where you can flash anything. Once you have custom recovery you can charge your HOX normally.
Code:
[I]fastboot[/I] flash recovery [I]recovery.img[/I]
(change fastboot to fastboot.exe if you're on Windows and change recovery.img to the name of your preferred recovery)

@jacobgaudoin I missed something in your first post sorry, you're version is too new for the ruu you are trying to use so you cannot do it with an ruu. you will have to get a stock nandroid and do it that way. look for your cid and version number here>>>>>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140 best to get the version that exactly matches yours and then flash the boot.img from the nandroid and flash the stock recovery which you can get from further down the page, once you done all of the above you will receive OTA's from htc or your carrier that will bring you up to the latest official version available for your cid. oh you must do this with an unlocked bootloader and whichever custom recovery comes with the nandroid

Thanks for all the help guys. I've managed to get back into my recovery and can boot into the rom fine now! I'm now trying the nandroid route, tried downloading the 4.18.401.2 CID HTC__001 from the collections page. I have tried restoring this but it says system restore error. I want to try the other non TWRP backup but it won't seem to download. I will keep exploring...

I unlocked the hox with hasoon 2000 all in one kit... and put the xm kernel sense 188v4 and the Android Revolution HD 31.3 from mike1986
fastboot oem rebootRUU (i typ at first fastboot oem lock) ther come a blck screen with htc logo...
after this is nothing doing...

You need to flash the boot.img from the arhd rom.zip then install the rom in recovery, oh and as you have 1.72 bootloader you should first install philz touch recovery oot you touchscreen will not work
Press thanks if I helped you. Sent via XDA Premium 4

And dont flash xm 188 it's a sense 4 kernel. Not good in combo with a sense 5 rom.
And stop flashing firmwares, not needed !

[Q] Anione help me

Hy everione, I flash my One X whit a rom (skydragon) i think, them in the start my phone restarts, and turn off and restarts and dont stop. I try to solve the problem in Recovery and becouse im noob I delete ALL in the memory, now the One X starts and stay stop in the Logo, I dont know how put another rom or do something, PLS I need help.
THXX
1-BOOTLOADER:
Open your bootloader - hold vol down and power button for 15 seconds
check that your Hboot version is less than 1.23 (1.12 or lower) and your bootloader is UNLOCKED, if not then you have to read more
flash a custom recovery(like CWM) from fastboot fastboot flash recovery C:/....recovery.img
Find your(skydragon) zip file, and you will find a boot.img file inside it, copy it to your computer
Flash the boot.img you copied to your computer fastboot flash boot C:/...boot.img
2-RECOVERY and INSTALL
go to the recovery from the bootloader, mount USB storage and place the zip on the SD
Install zip from sd, find your rom and install it
clear cache
3-Restart your device and everything should work
note: it might take time to load first time
If your bootloader is 1.23/1.28/1.31/1.33 then you might have errors after installing(but the same method will also work)
I tried that, but when I go to put usb storage says a error , I cant put nothim in the memory, i tri to instal a ruu but im not find the correct
there is a ruu that works in all??? i dont know my cid .
thxx
what error you are getting ? and type this in bootloader to know which ruu to use : fastboot getvar mainver
edit: try reflashing the latest CWM recovery
Error 155.in the ruu
what is the mainversion and your bootloader version ? type fastboot getvar all to see all your phone's info

Hi Vcek, I'm facing a similar situation as well. I flashed my phone using ARHD 14.2. Found out later that it does not support my phone. Wrong CID (Yes, did not read carefully and did a noob job on it.). Found out from others that I can return back to a previous ROM which I have. Problem was that I could not mount my USB drive. Gave me message "Unable to load usm lunfiles..." something like that. So I was then advised to perform a "Fastboot flash recovery recovery.zip". Did that and got the following:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.zip
sending 'recovery' (532446 KB)... OKAY [ 72.375s]
writing 'recovery'... INFOFormat partition SOS done
FAILED (remote: (0000000a))
finished. total time: 72.602s
When I returned to the bootloader, This time round, I cannot even enter recovery mode. It just loops back to the first screen of the bootlader. Selecting HBOOT, some messages flashed saying that "Failed to open sdcard, dalvik cache, etc, etc.
I then tried to load back the latest 5.8.4.0 CWM using "fastboot flash recovery cwm 5.8.5.0,img". It gave me another error "error: cannot load 'cmw 5.8.4.0.img"
My bootloader information is as follows:

[Q] HTC One X Stuck in Bootloader (BAD)

Hi im new here and would like some advice,
i have a HTC One X with CID TMOB005 (UK T-Mobile) and am stuck in a recovery loop, if you try to boot the phone normally it just gets to the beats logo and reboots, now i have tried to flash with RUU but will not recognize the phone but it can be seen running the fastboot cmd. i think its because its an old RUU im in need of;
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_TMO_UK_1.29.110.11_Radio_1.1204.105.14_release_260731_signed.exe
but cant find a download stable anywhere!

Have you flashed a custom rom?
Not as yet anything i need to flash with custom rom? and where would i obtain a custom ROM?, i have extracted the rom.zip from the Old RUU and tried to fastboot flash bit getting error code when flashing the system.img..
Put the rom.zip together with fastboot files. Then go to fastboot and type 'fastboot oem rebootRUU', then type 'fastboot flash zip rom.zip'
The RUU should flash. Just will take a few minute to send the zip and flash.
But before you do that that, check your main version by typing 'fastboot getvar all' and see the version, if it's still like 1.29 or 1.28 then you can flash the RUU.

I have searched the whole internet and cant find one anywhere, iv been searching for ages! anyone know where i could find this?
CID: TMOB005
BL: 2.17.110.5
Still having same problem! anyone else think they got a solution?
You could always try unlocking via htc dev then flash custom recovery and a custom rom.
Yeah, since your RUU is impossible to find, you must flash a custom ROM and it'll be all good, but you won't be able to return to stock eternally, until someone uploads their stock nanodroid backup or a RUU is leaked somewhere.
I don't understand, how are you in a bootloop if you haven't unlocked it?
Have you tried factory reset?
If you're still looking for RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_TMO_UK_1.29.110.11_Radio_1.1204.105.14_release_260731_signed then here's the link

Revert to stock for warranty repair 4.18

Hi,
I need to send my phone back for repair, I've got HBOOT 1.72 and am running the 4.18.401.2 firmware. I've tried running the RUU for the 3.14 version but it won't work.
There isn't an RUU for the 4.18 version yet.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get back to stock and unrooted?
Cheers,
Tom

I think you can use the appropriate nandroid backup from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140 if an ruu is not available.

OK I am right. Now dounload this RUU 3.14.401.31 lock your bootloader fastboot oem lock and run the RUU. If you receive the error I think you will not download nandroid backup for your base 3.14.401.31 from Nandroid backucp thread and restore via custom recovery. For the nandroid you will must unlock the bootloader again it will be good to have Unlock_token.bin. I think it will install the RUU without the problem but I am not so sure for this I write you the second way restore via nandroid. Good luck and report back.

Thank you for your help, my kind Sir!
It all worked! I just have one more question. I have reflashed stock recovery... and my bootloader says "relocked".
Shouldn't it say "LOCKED"?? Will i loose my warranty if it says "RELOCKED" since that means it was unlocked and than relocked...?

This RUU i have... i downloaded the one you sent me... But i saw on the net that bootloader is "RELOCKED". And you loose your warranty if your bootloader is "RELOCKED", it must be "LOCKED" if you want to keep warranty and send your phone on repair... As i saw on internet there is no way of keeping warranty on HOX... :/

The utility reaches the screen where it starts copying stuff. .then gives an error 158 and tells me to find the correct update update utility. .
What am i doing wrong
I think the utility will not downgrade me from 4.19.708.1 to a 3.xx.708.xx ?? For that do we need to do a nandroid restore ? In that case can anyone point me to th one that will be applicable for me ? Since i have no clue on that. .
I just want to go back to 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 as the 4.2.2 update broke my camera focussing funtionality.

Soft Bricked the HTC One M8

HTC One M8
Unlocked and S-off
From UK so with international network
Cyanogenmod 11 i think
Clockwork recovery
Soooo i bought the M8 secondhand with Cyanogenmod installed, however, i couldnt do any updates due to error status 7. i tried the normal fix (delete code which checked authorisation of phone) but to no avail. since then the error came back and i managed to get a different error on reboot: "root access possibly lost. fix?". I've cleared cache(s) and done a factory reset. No matter what i pressed it would be in a boot loop. I can still get to bootloader and recovery. then i tried to change the recovery to TWRP however when i try and fastboot, my device is not recognised by my laptop so i cannot add the ADB driver to the device.
sorry for sounding very vague / idiotic, i have no idea what i have done and no idea what i am doing to try and fix it. that means sadly i will need to be spoonfed the fix. if you need any more details or pictures of the problem let me know
thanks in advance

Are you trying to update to CM12.1? If so, the error is for a reason, and not to be bypassed in the way you describe.
If you are on an hboot older than 3.19, I don't think it will work with CM12 and 12.1. You'll need to update hboot (and rest of firmware, preferably) to proceed.
Also, CWM may be too old for CM12 as well.

Not sure what you mean here. Are you trying to install HTC Sync (and corresponding driver) by connecting the phone?
You can just do an XDA search for "simple adb" and you will find a couple really easy adb/fastboot installers.
how do i see what hboot i am on? and how would i update it?
i've installed HTC Sync but it doesn't recognise my phone being connected (so i cant view any files on the phone) and i've installed a simple ADB/fastboot but i can't see the driver option when trying to add it to my phone on Device manager. i have got to the stage whereby i have the ADB/fastboot folder and have the TWRP file in the same folder, just i cant get any further.
where would i begin getting to cyanogenmod 12.1, or would it be easier to revert back to a basic android os?
i know this is probably incredibly frustrating for you as i am a complete novice, but i greatly appreciate your help
i would post pictures to help but i cant as im a new member, i will when i can

This in itself does not mean the phone is not connecting by fastboot. And fastboot is the important thing here, so we can update TWRP, etc.
Try rebooting into fastboot mode, and try the command and see if your phone's ID is returned: fastboot devices
If you don't get the phone's ID and just "waiting for device" you do indeed have some type of USB connectivity problem.

Boot into bootloader, andyour hboot number is listed near the top of the screen.
Since you are s-off, its fairly easy to update the firmware (and I would suggest to update all the firmware, not just hboot) by flashing the proper firmware.zip. But let's determine whether that is even the problem, before we worry about flashing firmwares.
hboot is: 3.16.0
also my phone is detected by my laptop so all is well there
i have installed a simple 15 second ADB file but am unsure how to proceed from here

Your firmware is very old, so will need to be updated to run CM12.1. Also, newer versions of TWRP will not run with your old hboot.
Do a fastboot getvar all, and post the output, but delete your IMEI and serial numbers (as these are private info). Need more details on the phone (particularly CID) in order to know how to proceed.

I'm going to suggest WWE/International firmware. The updates are available way before O2 updates.
Download this firmware (it also includes TWRP2.8.4.0). Rename it to firmware.zip and place it into your fastboot folder.
Next, boot into fastboot and change your CID to superCID (it won't flash with the O2 CID)
fastboot devices to make sure you are connected (a bunch of letters and numbers/your serial# means you are)
fastboot oem rebootRUU (a black screen with the HTC logo means you are in RUU mode)
fastboot oem writecid 11111111 (eight ones) You are now superCID!
Now flash the firmware
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
If you get "error 90 hboot pre-update" (and you probably will with how old your current firmware is) run the same command again and the firmware will flash properly. The first run only updated your hboot.
The process will stop at 75% to 90%. That's normal and gives you a chance to check your console output. The last few percentage is the reboot.
The bar will fill to 100% after you enter fastboot reboot-bootloader
That's it. Good luck!
thank you both so much! so now do i just download the appropriate cyanogenmod version and flash it over?
