I have been trying for some time now to unroot my galaxy note 2. I downloaded Paranoid android 3+ but it didn't transfer my apps or contacts and doesn't have an app store. I downloaded Odin V3.07 and have tried numerous different stock firmware files. In Odin the ID:COM's color is bluish/green. Odin gets stuck at Set up connection and get pit for mapping. I have tried different USB ports and other cables. My phone is in download mode. none of this has worked however!

I just received my Galaxy S2 and am trying to root the phone. I followed the steps in the how-to but Odin is not recognizing my phone. Are there any tricks to get Odin to see my phone? I have kies installed on my pc.
Are you running kies and Odin as admin if you have windows 7? And did you restart your computer after installing kies?

I am pretty sure Kies is installed properly. Reinstalled a couple of times. I just tried to root again this morning but am getting a "Threat Detected" message when opening Odin with a threat name Trojan Horse Pakes.LGN. Same error on 2 diff computers.
I dl'd the zip file from a youtube site and have tried dl'ing from xda. Anyone have a link to a clean version?
Just to be sure, did you plug in your phone while running kies to let it find and install all the drivers for your phone? After that open task manager and kill anything that says kies or it can cause problems. This way always worked for me running Windows 7 dualbooted from a macbook pro.
Here is where I got all the root files from

So my friend ran into my house and gave me his note 2, here's the situation. An unrooted Note 2 was connected to Odin root package, and the wrong file was entered in the PDA slot (an md5 sum notepad file or something like that). Anyways the error message is coming up says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again". I can hold down volume down and power and get into recovery still. Should I just connect odin and throw a file into the PDA slot and try to unroot it, if it even is rooted yet. Im not familiar with the Note 2 specifically since I don't actually own one, but thats the method I would have followed with my S2 which is effectively identical. What file should I download to throw in the PDA slot, a link would be appreciated. Thanks again.

Yeah I love QBKing I'm watching it right now aha. In this link http://rwilco12.com/downloads.php?d...-L900)/Stock ROMs/MA7/Nodata Restore/Unrooted which file do I put in Odin, the .exe file or the tar.md5
I'd go tar. Exe is an executable file so you probably won't need Odin as it comes with it I believe.

The download from that website keeps failing halfway through anyone wanna provide a link to another stock md5 tar?
Okay the phone can access recovery and CWM but won't boot now. How do I flash a ROM without being able to transfer onto the phone's SD card. There's a way to do this via Odin right?
tried to unroot kept failing pressed re-partion and reset time and also tried a usb 2.0 instead of 3.0
model should be SGH-m919 as im in america and use t-mobile and in the download screen its red SGH-M919..
i had issues rooting it a while back with it showing that it failed every attempt i forget which odin i used and root file but it eventually worked after using an older version of odin... it seems random.
Im trying to make it non-void so no rootkit and i know the rest [just need it set back to factory default!]
maybe updated drivers for my windows?
maybe its my windows 8.1 but i last did this on windows 8 [both x64]
Thanks in advance im sure ill find the proper fix for this issue here.
Bump
What stock image are you trying to Odin?

On this note, if you have updated to Android 4.3 and are trying to flash back to 4.2, it won't work. You'd need a stock 4.3 image to flash in Odin.
I don't know if this is what your problem is, but I do know that a lot of people have run into this road block triyng to do exactly this.
Is there a way to flash the stock Odin image without root or a pc? My son broke his Tab and it won't register on the computer. In trying to reflash the stock firmware to see if maybe that fixes the connection problems. Thanks

Try Mobile ODIN !
But I am not sure yet if it will Work
Hi, recently I rooted and installed CM11 on my AT&T SGH-i317. Everything worked fine, however, I noticed that it change my model number from SGH-i317 to GT-N7105 (the international LTE version). I didn't think anything was wrong with that since everything was working. However, I now want to revert back to stock but my phone won't connect to Samsung Kies 3 and is not being recognized by Odin. I've tried everything I could think of including turning USB debugging mode off and uninstalling and reinstalling Kies; nothing helped. My phone is currently running the latest CyanogenMod 11 nightly for the LTE version. Should I download the latest stable version of CM for the i317 version and then try to use Kies? Are there any other options I can use?
Is your phone recognized at all by your computer? What version of Odin are you using?
Yeah, my computer recognizes my phone as N7105, not i317. I'm using Odin 3.09

CM can only be flashed using a custom recovery. Do you have a stock or custom recovery? What bootloader is on your phone? Did you try using Odin 3.07? What firmware were you trying to flash with Odin?
I'm using the philz touch recovery and I was trying to flash the stock ROM. I don't know what a bootloader is or where to find it. I tried using Odin 3.07 and got the same result

My question overall is will it work if I flash the latest stable version of CM 11 for the t0leatt version? I think doing that will revert the firmware back to SGH-i317 (US AT&T version) instead of the international version. Would KIES and Odin recognize it then?
Sent from my GT-N7105 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You can only use Odin to flash back to stock if the ROM has been specifically compiled for flashing via Odin.
I believe that the builds for the various Note 2 models have been unified so you should be flashing ROMs for the t)lte.
When using Odin, are you in download mode? What errors are you getting in Odin? I would not bother using Kies.
Thank you so much. I had completely forgotten that you had to be in download mode in order to use Odin lol. I'm not at home at the moment to try to see if that works, but will try asap.
