Which NFC Tags? - Nexus 7 (2013) Accessories

Hey there,
I bought some 1K NFC Tags only to find out that they don't work with the Nexus 7 2013 (Mifare Classic Chip).
Can anyone tell me which ones do actually work? Apparently the NTAG203 do, but I only found 168byte versions.
Are there any larger ones? Could anyone provide a list of tags that work?
Thanks a lot,
Christoph

Ive got a sizable collection of NFC tags including the Samsung TecTiles1, and so far theyve all worked with my Nexus.
Ive got a MIFARE Ultralight here right now and that read fine using "NFC TAgInfo by NXP" but its only a 64byte.

test nfc - what to read?

hello i wanted to try the NFC tecnology but theres no store in my countrie that uses it what kind of cards can i try to read? and how?
Know anyone else with a Nexus?
I always send links and Youtube vids to my brother that way.
My local library uses rfid tags on the books as a way of checking them in and out I just scanned a few books and works flawlessly. Although the rfid tags are not write protected in my library so I changed the data on one and the library machine couldn't scan it!!

well. you have to download a NFC Tag reader app on your phone in order to actually read them. NFC TagInfo is free in the market, and does a great job..
ive tryed it but it keeps "scan tag..." nothing appens.,..
Thanks Gogol.
I've put a little trial pack of tags (Classic 1K, Ultralight Anti Metal, and Ultralight C key ring) on our ebay site for developers who want to do testing. It's only £4.50, £1 postage to Portugal.

[Q] how to make (build) NFC tags

I know you can purchase NFC tags for a fairly cheap price (i just purchased some from tagsfordroid.com) but i'm curious if anyone knows of a way on how to actually build your own NFC tags? Are there any tutorials online on what to purchase and build some?
Thank you

NFC tags

Anyone know which ones work the best for this phone? Or could I just get any cheap kind and use them. I've never messed with nfc tags so I wouldnt know

The cheap ones should work... Do you know what you want to use them for? Some have more or less memory, some are lockable, etc.

The Optimus G should be able to use both MiFare Classic and NTAG203 tags which are the 2 cheapest kinds. MiFare Classic tends to be the cheapest but don't work with some devices such as Nexus 4. However if you intend to only use the tags with your own phone, then MiFare would be the cheapest option.

HTC One & Samsung TecTiles NFC Tags

I was curious if anyone has tried using Samsung TecTiles with their HTC One..
I haven't played around with NFC yet, and saw these for sale at my local AT&T Store. I know I can order tags online that would work, but I'm just curious.. I read things online that said they would work, and other sources said that they won't. I believe they are MIFARE Classic 1k, but admittedly have no clue what that really means. Like I said, I have zero experience with NFC, and was curious if anyone has had a chance to play with them from an M7UL.
If you use a different tag or whatnot that you would recommend, I'd love to hear about that too, as well as what cool stuff you crazy guys have cooked up or hacked together with NFC...
Thanks!
Tested not very much, but works
Works. Used with NFC task launcher
I got some on sale, 5 for $1, and they work fine with the HTC One. I assume they are being cleared out because of incompatibility with the Galaxy S4 which needs NTAG203 tags.

I think the cost of the airfare and time machine would outweigh the savings. I bought them from an Australian store called **** Smith a couple months ago.
Tried it and works with NFC task launcher.

I bought the mifare classic 1k tags from tagsfordroid.com and use nfc task launcher. Fun little toys.

NFC tag reliability?

I tried nfc tags back on my S3 and was less than impressed, but it was rooted and not sure it was working correctly. Anyone here use NFC tags and had good luck?
Thanks,
Glenn
