Hi,
My nexus 7 2013 II have low volume and bad audio, only my? Or this is common problem?
(Sorry for bad English)
And the 4.4 update will fix it?
Mine is really loud...
Maybe you have an unplug speaker...
You should have sound from top and bottom... Do you have it?
Also, use mxplayer to boost the sound.

If your tab is rooted, use viper audio mod. Its available in the play store. My tablet becomes incredibly loud on literally the first notch of the volume bar.
My FLO's speakers are loud enough for personal use, but not too loud as to disturb a flight full of sleeping passengers. I have yet to find an equalizer or audio boosting app that actually works. I use viper4android, but the driver fails to install, even after doing smart install of busybox.

The ONE X is proving out to be an excellent phone but for me there is one issue.
The audio level out of the speaker when using the phone for Sat Nav, either with Google Navigator or NDrive is very low, to the point of being unusable at motorway speeds in my van. It's not too bad in my Freelander but it still could be better.
Any ideas on how to improve it, is there a way of boosting the vol level.
I don't want to even go down the ROOT path. I've rooted various phones in the past but this one is staying as it is for the moment.
As a last resort i was thinking of plugging in a external powered speaker to the headphone socket to give me more audio...
Any ideas folks ?
Sure you haven't inadvertently turned the media volume level down? Settings, sounds, adjust volume level.
Sorry to be obvious

Its low for me too so guessing its just poor design....
Yes the settings are fine it must be design.... I'm sure music appears louder and that comes under the same media level....
Hopefully someone will have a fix...
OK so I used the search on here and googled this to no avail... I'm currently on slimkat 4.4 for the flo but I've also experienced this on 4.4 on my d2vzw... When I use my Bluetooth headphones to listen to music or watch a movie the volume is either extremely loud or too low... There seems to be no comfortable middle ground... I was wondering if there was a way to edit the build prop or a 3rd party apk I could use to fix this... I've tried to mess with DSP manager but I can't seem to aquire the volume level I desire... Maybe this will get ironed out with time... Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated...
I was having this same problem that I posted a few posts down from yours. The volume on the lowest setting was extremely loud. I put paranoid Android back on and now it's back to normal. I haven't found anything that fixes this yet so will stick with 4.3 til they fix it since I use my headphones often.

It is Kit Kat issue on all devices that use the default Google Bluedroid Bluetooth stack, meaning Nexus devices and Google Play versions (other devices running a modified stack may not be affected).
Supposedly, it is an extension to Bluetooth AVRCP 1.3 that enables Bluetooth audio devices to directly control Android's system volume. It seems some genius thought two independent volume levels (headphone volume and handset bluetooth level) was too confusing for folks. Clearly they did not think about (or test) that some Bluetooth audio devices with their own volume controls might default to a very high or low level, and control of only the handset's bluetooth level would not provide sufficient range of adjustment.
So once again we have Goofle googing up bluetooth in Android. Please share your disappointment in the following threads so that we might see a fix ASAP. Guessing they are facing law suits for hearing damage if it is not addressed quickly.

Workaround for playing music is, Play Music > Options (3 dots thing on the top right) > Settings > Equalizer > On, then put everything to the bottom. Still kinda loud, but at least it won't bust my ears.
My issue was with movies not play music. I flashed a different rom and it works fine now anyways hehe

So I've been having some problems in general with bluetooth performance. A couple of days ago I was trying to sync a wireless bluetooth speaker with my 5X and the 5X couldn't even find the speaker when the speaker was in pairing mode. My tablet and HTC ONE do not have problems finding the speaker. I finally got it pair after multiple attempts. I then launched Amazon music and tried to adjust the volume after audio was playing. I clicked the volume down button all the way to zero and the speaker was still quite loud. Clicking the volume up button didn't really do anything. The audio gets slightly louder, but it's not very discernible unless you're comparing the audio at 10% versus 60-70%. Anyone else having similar problems?

They changed the way volume adjustments work with Bluetooth devices.

For me, I noticed that I just need to control the volume on the device and not try to mess with it on the phone.

Thanks. It looks like this may indeed be a bug though, whether it's with the accessories or Android OS.
, there seems to be a bug in the feature's implementation on some Bluetooth accessories. What users are experiencing is an extremely loud volume, even at the lowest volume setting. With the slider moved all the way down, the volume remains too high, which makes the accessory unusable if you enjoy a more temperate sound. And remember, this is a unified volume setting, so even if you press the headset's Vol- button, nothing changes

When I paired with my speaker the music turned on so loud I nearly crapped my pants. Didn't even realize it was possible for the speaker to go that loud.

Not me. Everything working as designed. BT speaker paired just fine.
I'm having bluetooth issues - from day one and 6.01 doesn't help. My 5x often doesn't play through previously paired devices. It goes through the motions and shows a connection but no sound. I usually have to switch bluetooth off then back on again. Really annoying.
Hmmm, I haven't had a problem with the situation you described. I am currently having an issue over what audio is being pushed over bluetooth. In my car I am listening to some music via bluetooth, and I get a phone call during playback, I swipe right and answer the call, but I answered the call and my music resumes and I can't hear my call. Very odd but a consistent issue since the 6.0.1 update.
Since I accepted OREO onmy Nexus 5x, I also have BT issues both with my car multi-media and my earphones. I tried reboot the nexus and it did not help. I"ll try to repair the device.
Finally found a way to end audio lag in apps such as YouTube. After installing Viper4Android and thereby installing their audio driver, audio lag completely disappears. Just make sure to toggle the Master Switch to ON under each listening device tab you intend on using i.e. headset/ phone speaker.
Obviously you need to be rooted to use this method.

Wow! I was in doubt of buying this phone because of the audio problems. If the problem is as simple as proper audio driver, my choice will be easy!
Can someone confirm this?
Problem is that you have to be rooted to use it...

Lmao, P2 doesn't have any audio problems. It's just a small software issue that Lenovo are too lazy to fix! I recommend the phone with both hands.
Is the audio volume low during call? Or static noise during music playback from headphone jack.
Does viper fix all these issues? If yes in would buy this device...
Today I switched from German to U.S. English inside "Language & input" and while staying at U.S. English the volume while listening to Spotify or for example Shuttle+ (music player app) is far higher compared to when using German language.
I need to restart the music app after changing language, changing the language on the fly while listening to music has no effect and it only works when using headphones.
I allways found the Mi A2 lite too low on volume when using headphones, but now it's far too loud at max.
Edit: I did some tests with different EU and non-EU languages and everytime I'm using an EU language my volume gets lower. Could anyone please double check it? Thanks.
Could someone please verify the above? Thanks in advance.
I did it and obviously there is a huge difference
Don't know why,but I think all problems will be solved with android pie

Thanks for testing. I hope it will get fixed with Pie, but I'm afraid Xiaomi turned down the volume for E.U. language users because of some stupid E.U. laws regarding maximum volume levels.

I don't think so, but this version now has many bugs like white balance, radio fm,double tap to wake, charging sounds... And I expect that these will be taken in consideration with the update
While there's life, there's hope.
Yes, true
Weird. It's the same here when using Spotify. Changed from Swedish to U.S English language. The volume out is way to low on the A2 Lite compared to my old Oneplus 3. Especially when pairing it with a BT-device such as my car or portable speaker. Also, there is a kind of "dampening" to the sound happening when using the equializer in the Spotify app. It starts at a high volume level and then drops, which in turn lowers the sound output even more. It's noticable when changing the prefered language- but improved over the Swedish language settings.
Can anyone else confirm low sound output while using Bluetooth? And using the EQ in Spotify, which in turn "dampens" the sound, both with wired headphones and paired to BT-devices.
@Jaevlar
While using my bluetooth speaker or receiver I don't see any changes in volume levels when switching languages and no "dampen" effect, but I know this effect from my cable-headphones. Sometimes even short passages of a song with probably a higher peak level get dampened but only when using an E.U. languge. But I've to admit I tested with Viper4Android and not the default equalizer.
I found (sort of) a fix for the issues I've been having with the audio levels being to low. Downloaded Equalizer FX (Pro) from Google Play. Increasing the "Loudness enhancer" in the Effects-tab seems to have done the trick. Audio still varies very briefly when you start to play a song, but it's no longer dampened or muffled. The downloaded equalizer does interfere with the built in one, a notification shows up in which you can choose to deactivate the built in one though.
Using my prefered language and location (Sweden) works with this method too. A little bit annoying that the soundlevel varies at first, but at least audio out now has some more punch. Will test it in my car with the bluetooth hooked up too; hoping it works there as well.
