[Q] HTC One-X stuck after update - HTC One X

Last week I accepted an OTA update on my One-X just running all standard (no custom roms, no root etc).
During update, it got stuck and now it keeps rebooting.
I've googled a bit about this problem, and I've done "fastboot erase cache", which didn't solve it.
I also tried a factory reset (also from the menu you get when doing vol.down+power), but that didn't help either.
It's a test phone for development, and I really need it to be in stock, standard condition, so no custom roms.
Is there any step-by-step guide available for people like me that are new to this?
FWIW here's the output of fastboot getvar all:

Help me please

I loaded my Rogers HTC one X with the CyanogenMod 10 - Endeavor Unleashed | 027 | UNIFIED HBOOT. It worked for a bit but is now stuck in the loading screen. I connect it to my PC and put it in fastboot and attemt to reflash the boot img and nothing changes. I have attempted to find an original RUU as mine is corupted. I have read the forums and see alot of fixes if you can access the phone to move the files to the SD however I cant get to that point. I am sure this has been answered somewhere but i haven't been able to find it as yet.
This is my first attempt to use a ROM.. The phone was unlocked via HTC dev. I have since read I should have also turned the S-off but I missed that before I flashed the ROM.
Any ideas would be appriciated.
Here is the info from the device.

Wrong forum, wrong phone. Go to the other non-international htc one x section and don't flash anything in this section! Or risk a brick.

Mate you need to delete your serial & imei number from the above info, never post such information on a public forum.
Flash boot.img from vipers roms zip and reflash viper rom.
thank you

Back to stock

Hi guys,
I consider myself an experienced flasher - though I've been away from the XDA scene for a good year. I need a stock ROM to flash to my HTC One M8. It's in Demo Mode and I can't remove it. I've just been made aware that RRU's are very hard to come across these days, as back in the day that was the easiest way to fix it.
Please could someone help me guide through this, I don't really want to root the handset.

As ridiculous as it sounds it's been a long time since I did this, could you send me a link to a thread that shows me how to get Fastboot set up? I really really appreciate it.

looks like their has been an update since the RUU so you won't be able to flash it without s-off
RUU_3.28.401.6_M8_WWE_Stock.exe
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001609293
Zip
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4sLrKlVs0CPY29yV09MQURsd0k/view
You will have to try these
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95747613655046058
+ stock recovery >> http://d-h.st/vTl
you'll have to unlock the bootloader and flash TWRP to use it
and the Thread with all those files and instructions is here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376
The 3.28.401.9 ZIP is available here:

Guide to flash it is also in the OP that link is taken from:

Help Please! my m8 bricked cid: HTC__001 MID: 0P6B10000

I am on android 6, the m8 just stuck on boot for few weeks now.
the phone is still locked, s-on.
I am in UK, the phone bought from phones4u, it's sim free phone.
I have never modify anything.
I prefer just find a new ruu, then I can restore it to stock or the latest one,
I prefer not to root it or s off, but if i have no choice, I will consider again.
I have tried ruu_M8_UL_m50, shows image old,
is there any new ruu for it,
Thank you!!!:good:

If it is software problem, should fix it.
If it is hardware problem, it may fix it or it may totally brick it.
Thank you! I am reading now
I am downloading it, I will try it tonight, it's not hardware problem, it should not be bricked.
I don't mind, I have to try it.
is the ruu offical one?
is the htc_fastboot.exe special one? it's tiny file size?
instead of use computer to restore, i am using sd card to do it, it is updating now, thanks again, I update the result once it's done.
Thank you my friend, my phone is restoring now, It is loading app, for about 4 weeks I didn't see passing the htc logo screen, I hope it will load everything, I will update again in 1 hour.
Thank you very much for your help!
It's working now.

I had similar problem some time ago that it wouldn't charge, meaning no way to flash anything.
I found a script though that makes a constant reboot into bootloader and it will slooowly charge. It will also tell you the voltage on the battery. Try to get it up to like 3.2-3.3v i think might work.
Just create a bat file and put the following code in it, make sure the file is in the same folder as fastboot (my fastboot was called fastboot-windows.exe, but change it to fastboot if you have fastboot.exe).
Code:
@echo off
:start
fastboot-windows getvar battery-voltage
fastboot-windows reboot-bootloader
ping /n 6 localhost >nul
goto start
"
I had a few custom roms and I come to the conclusion that XenonHD-09.05.15 (5.1.1) is overall the best one which is not outdated. It seems that it's a stable rom cuz I haven't noticed any crashes or freezes so far.
