Remove the sdcard from your phone and with an adaptor plug it into your computer.
Then download this free FAT32 formatter utility from: http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/FAT32format-Download-79375.html
and format your sdcard.
After formatting the sdcard put it back in your phone and it should work just fine.
Good luck!

Ok I have the EXACT same issue. I was hoping to not lose the data on the 32 gig card ... but if I have no choice then oh well.
Only thing is .... it is not working..... This is what I get.
Code:
H:\__ANDROID__\fat32format>fat32format -c64 r:
Warning ALL data on drive 'r' will be lost irretrievably, are you sure
(y/n) :y
Failed to get device geometry
GetLastError()=21: The device is not ready.
H:\__ANDROID__\fat32format>
My Windows 7 see's the micro Stick as drive R. but is unreadable.
Thanks

If it errors out when you try formatting it using your computer that means the sdcard is
defective, hope you still have time to return and exchange it for one which works.
At least you now know that the problem has nothing to do with the phone.
Good luck!

Pull sd out of phone and use a card reader to see if it can be read from the pc. If you can read it with the pc, copy all your files to the pc and then format the sd fat32. Once formated put the files back on the sd and put it back in the phone and see if it works then.

have you ever pulled the SD card out of a device before Unmounted it? Sounds like the the chip inside is dead. There are some places that you can take it to and they can pull the info off of it. its not cheap but they do exist. It all depends on if you really want the info off of it or not.
Have you tried "SD Card Tester" from the Market, Or H2testw 1.4 for the PC?

Cannot copy anything to my sd card

Hello,
i recently bought a new sandisk ultra class 6 8gb micro sd card for my phone..but i can't copy anything to it....the drive shows in computer but when i try to copy something to it, it says "An error has occured. The destination you specified does not exist. It might be in an offline network location or an empty CD or DVD drive. Check the location and try again. "
Also, i received one adapter with it...through which i can copy stuff onto the memory card but the problem is that i can't copy anything on it directly when it is in my phone , i also formatted it twice but still no luckkkkkk
Do i have to use the adapter at all times?? is there any way so that i don't have to use the adapter??
Please Help.
There is no problem with your memory card, your phone software/hardware may has some problem.

its just doesnt work, there is a compatibility problem with some sd cards in wfs, you have to buy another brand of sd card it will probably fix your problem, but i think you should try the card before buying it in order to make sure there is no compatibility problem.

microsd card damaged suddenly !!!!

a microsd card 8GB class 4 came with my phone
today after I took a picture with the phone camera I forwarded to see but no sd card
I connected it to PC then the windows asked me to format ... I wondered the the card space became 30.6MB !!!!
and cannot be formatted .
I tried many ways to recover the sd card such as SDFormatter v3 , DriveRestore_Professional , EASEUS Partition Master , and more ... without benefit !!!
can any one explain what happened with the solutions if possible please
Try using the formatting option on your Phone, or you could try CWM to do it too.
Try doing what XD suggested, if that didn't work, try formatting with another pc
I tried to format using CWM and using 3 PC's (win7 & xp) without any benefit
That happened to me once.
if possible You have to connect the SD card directly in your computer (SD Adaptor or any SD card reader).
If you're using windows, you have to go to control panel--> Admins tools, and then go to disk partitions. There you have to identify your SD card on the list and eliminate all partitions that could be on your SD card. Then you have to create a new partition on that SD and the format it.
There you go.

Maybe, maybe not, if it's not faulty then there's no reason why it wont, and if other users on the thread of whatever ROM, kernel or both you're using have reported the same issue then I don't see why it wouldn't. Given that you've already said that you've tried everything suggested I suspect it's a faulty card, but you're never going to know unless you try.
thanks anyway for you all
Format in linux You must of tried turn you sd card into ram thing or ext overload at lease it will tell you what is wrong with your sd

Turn off your phone.
Eject the card.
Copy *all* files within the old card into the new card.
Insert the new card.
Done

Hello mates, greetings from Turkey.
i bought the following sd card and start using it in my i8150. However phone freezes / thinks a lot almost everytime when it starts using this SD i.e. during startup, previewing gallery, etc.
is this a known issue or something fixable?
here is the link of my new SD.

for an exact solution, i formatted everything (phone, internal sd, external sd by following the "go pristine" procedure).
then put the new update zip files to re-install the rom, open the phone in CWM mod.
CWM saw the contents of the ext.sd and i started installing zip file.
CWM was saying that it is installing the zip, however it was doing nothing as there were no further progress of installation.
at that point i figured out that my phone and my new sdhc class 10 ext.sd card are not able to communicate in a healthy way.
card is working in laptop, but has trouble working in the phone. most probably card was corrupted at the first stage while i am buying iti from store.
so i am giving up this.
just fyi.

Hi,
here is what i did last hour.
formatted again in "default" format and tried to re-install rom from ext.sd.
During first attempt, attached screen does not changed for 30 minutes, so i gave up again and force to shut down the phone by pressing down power button for 8 seconds.
I thought the phone will shut down only, but it restared in CWM mode. Then i gave another try and this time phone processed the zip file.
so far no new problems but let you know in case of one.
use that Rom RemICS 1.7
and here it's the Link: http://d-h.st/xwI

64gb San disk micro sd issue

Hi. Can someone shed some light on this? I have a 64gb memory card and I'm running PA I know exfat isn't supported but when I plus the SD reader into the computer it says please insert disk. I get a notification when my SD in my phone so i try reformatting with my phone itself but all I get is the same error stating it is corrupted and needs to format. You will need a card reader then follow procedure from the link. Windows will recover all your files after it verify contents of your card. Just be patient when you do it mine took 10 mins to verify contents of my card.

No program needed just go to RUN and typed CMD........from new window, type Chkdsk d: /r. change d: to whatever g: or h: check the path of your card reader when you connect it to your usb. *Windows will check all the contents in the card and verify it. It is really important to change the path when you are doing Chkdsk to same path as your card reader is.
