[Q] Power button broken and boot loop. Impossible to fix? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello everyone,
This Galaxy Nexus is in a bootloop and the power button is broken. Is there anyway to boot in recovery?
To power it on I do the trick with connecting the phone to a computer without the battery in, then insert the battery, then remove it again and then put it back in. Holding the volume buttons while booting won't get me in recovery.
Any suggestion very much appreciated.
Thanks!

[Q] How to get into HBOOT.

Sorry if this is a noob question but how do you get into hboot. I just got the evo came from a rooted hero. I understand that the new evos have not been rooted yet. I have powered on the evo and held down the volume up and down keys, and it just makes my evo boot up faster.
Turn the phone off.
Pull the battery.
Hold down Vol Down button
While still holding the Vol Down button, put the battery back into the phone
Continue to hold the Vol Down button until you are in the boot loader
Thank You that worked.
No problem! Glad that worked for you.
Without the battery pull, you just need too change your fastboot selection to off in settings, then you can power down, and use the button method

[Q] Cant access bootloader on leedroid 3.0.5

Hey all,
I am running leedroid 3.0.5 on a HTC Desire and I want to install another ROM. I went to run bootloader by turning the phone off, holding down the lower volume button while hitting the power button. The phone is just restarting but in a quicker than normal mode. I have tried this a few times and it is still the same. I tried also hitting the power button and then holding down the lower volume button - this just brought up the HTC logo and the device was delayed for several minutes.
Can anyone tell me what is going on or what I can do?
How to explore each menu in the settings after u install a new rom?
Settings/applications/disable fast boot

Hey. Anyone else have any idea's? I turned off the setting as you suggested but it is still not working.
Takea out the battery. Wait few secs. Put back. Hold POWER + VOL DOWN.
Pull battery and try again. If it doesn't work then it may be that your volume button is acting up. If that is the case, pull battery and press power while holding down the back button. This will bring you to fastboot menu. From there select the first option to enter bootloader.

Thanks guys. I got it working by pressing the back button instead of the volume down button.

[Q] Stuck in bootloader, HELP

My phones stuck in bootloader and it doesnt respond to both my volume buttons and my power buttons. Anyone have any idea how i can fix this? Also when it boots up it looks for a file called pd98IMG. Ive tried putting it onto my sd and the phone boots into bootloader and loads the file but it still stays in bootloader.
The phone is also rooted and i was running android revolution
Anyone who has the answer to this gets a reward, most likely to be cash. Thanks
Pull the battery, put it back in and power and - volume down should see you to recovery and just reflash your current rom.
It doesnt boot into recovery when i do that, it just boots into bootloader every time
I think i had the same problem a while back, the trick here is speed As soon as you put the battery back in try and get into recovery.
Take the battery casing off and the battery slightly out, now push the battery back in and press the bottom of the volume slide and quickly hold the power button down for a second, than release the power button still holding the volume down, you should now be in hboot, wait 2 seconds than go to recovery.
thats not working either, you got any other ideas?
Would you have adb?
Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1304940&highlight=stuck+in+bootloader
i get error:device not found, how do i get rid of this? :s
Is it still bootlooping? There should be a sweatspot where it works just as the led lights up, simply a matter of timing. Though i would give the battery out hold power and volume down and put battery in approach another go if all else fails.
nope, my laptop doesnt recognize my phone as its in bootloop so therefore i cant really use adb with it or anything,
Just want to make sure, as soon as the phone is powered off, it goes back on by itself automatically? If so take out the battery plug it in put the battery back and try to boot into recovery with charger.
i cant power the phone off using the power button, i have to remove the battery since its stuck in bootloader and the power and volume buttons dont work in bootloader for some weird reason

ROM Manager Hard Bricked My Phone?

I wanted to update my phone from CM9.1 to CM10 and wanted to back it up first. The first backup never went past "clearing space..." so I cleaned out all of my old ROMs and a couple of backups. Then I thought, maybe I don't have the latest version of recovery, so I reflashed Touch recovery. Then I hit the "reboot into recovery" in ROM manager. The phone vibrated and "Samsung" boot animation appeared very briefly....then nothing. I tried pulling the battery and then holding going directly into recovery with the volume buttons and power and it would just vibrate and show the opening samsung boot screen. After trying that a few times, now all I get is the vibration.
Today I tried the "soft brick" solution, but all it does is vibrate every alf second.
So am I bricked?
Your are soft bricked.
Take battery out for ten seconds
Insert back in hold volume keys press power
Let go while continuing holding volume key. Some people hold volume keys and power continuously but that doesn't always gets it.... g luck

To enter recovery, your timing during the phone vibration has to be somewhat perfectly timed.
Power up and keep one finger in the middle of the volume control so both volume controls are pressed simultaneously with one finger on the power button. When the phone vibrates one time, remove finger holding the power button while still holding the volume buttons until recovery appears.
Good luck OP.
When I do this, all I get is a black screen after the initial Samsung boot screen. Am I supposed to follow the instructions on the soft brick thread? Or just do this over and over until something else happens?
Good news guys. I used the soft brick instructions and loaded recovery through odin and it booted up into CM9 on its own! Thanks for the help!

Have you tried holding volume up and down at same time while holding in power button at the same time plugging in the power cord this will get you to download mode so you can use odin to flash new rom if possible. Or just turn power on while holding down volume button while it powers up this will get you to download mode without the power cord also.

Jacked up my T800 by forgetting to update my bootloader -- is there any hope?

First off, I'll openly admit I'm an idiot and missed the bit about needing to update the bootloader on my T800 and now my tablet won't do anything other than sit at the Samsung boot screen.
I've tried doing the power button + volume down + home button key sequence but it just reboots. Same thing about switching to volume up after it goes dark. I'm not sure if I just haven't gotten the sequence down properly or if it's just a lost cause at this point. Does anyone have any suggestions?
If you've held the power button, vol down and home button simultaneusly the device should boot to download mode. At that point you would select volume up to enter the mode. Are you sure you are holding these long enough and that the device is not plugged in?
If you are on a 7.x.x. rom then you may be having the same problem as me. If you came from the Samsung 6.0.1 rom then you already have the right boot loader.
Plug in charger and then power button all you need to do is stop the boot loop so you can get it in to the mode you need......

Thanks, stinka318. Right now, it's stuck in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S boot screen and will sit there until the battery runs out. Are you saying plug it into power right now and hit the power button or do I need to let the battery completely die then plug it back in so it's powered off to start with?
Thanks for the help!

If I hold the power button, vol down and home button down simultaneously, it will reboot the device but then go back to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S boot screen. I've tried holding that down until my fingers go numb (how long have you had to hold it down for?). I've also tried letting go of the vol down and moving it to vol up once the screen goes black then releasing the power button when the Samsung screen comes up but that doesn't do anything either. Everything that I've ever tried just ends up showing the Samsung screen. So frustrating!
Thanks for the help!

Yep plug it in now and hit the power button it will show the battery charging icon from that you should be able to do thing you need to recover it.
boot into download mode (was mentioned how to do it on this thread already), go to ODIN, flash the bootloader, boot into twrp, wipe everything (to be safe), and flash your desired rom
