Stop Music player from automatically playing in car - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Is there anyway to stop the music player from automatically starting while connected to bluetooth in the car?
It's becoming very annoying, every time I start my car the music just starts blaring and I have to go in to the music player application and turn it off, any help is appreciated!!

You can freeze Google Play Music with Titanium Backup if you're rooted.

Install a music player that doesn't auto-play and freeze/uninstall the offending player that does. Not sure of another way that still lets you play music when you explicitly open the app and hit play. Might be able to just run a second music player to register it to receive the Bluetooth events, but any time you open the first app again it will register itself and the problem (I mean..."feature") is activated again.

There's no system option or for the default player but Poweramp had the option to resume/pause once connected.

What car? Mine doesn't automatically start playing. It only plays when I select Bluetooth on stereo. Even with my Bluetooth headphones, it doesn't automatically start playing.

Uggghhhhh so I unchecked media in the bluetooth settings and now it just plays through the phone instead !!!!! Extremely irritating!

Wow, that's stupid design! I am guessing the media audio output was removed but the media button controls are still detected and causing the app to start. Android's media button API is pretty bad in that respect, no real control over what app receives the Bluetooth connection request. What music app are you using? I use CM10.2 on my Note 1 and the default music app (Apollo) does this so I had to disable it entirely.

If you are rooted you can give try to a free app called Autorun Manager.
Go to Advanced Mode, find Music Player and expand the receiver list under it.
Disabling MadiaButtonIntentReceiver may address your problem.
You can always re-enable the receiver.

I am also not rooted and the fracking Samsung music player always comes on in my Chevy Volt when I select Bluetooth in the car. I have Google play selected as my default music player on the phone but, the Samsung player comes on and I have to hit my Google Play widget to start playing and auto stop the Samsung player.

Try this app and set google play music as your default music player. It is called default app manager lite in the market. Just downloaded and will try it in car later today.

I also have this problem on my car with doggcatcher (pod cast player).
However mine will only happen if the app is in the background. I'm going to play with more options on my end to see if there is a work around

Not going to lie, PowerAMP was my first purchase on the Android Market and I am extremely happy with it.
The best feature for me is the ability to view my songs as folders since I already have my music organized by artist/album and I don't need the library. Anyone who's using their phone as an mp3 definitely needs to try it.

Default audio player / Ford sync / Bluetooth

I was hoping someone could help me with the default media player when syncing via Bluetooth with a Ford Sync radio.
Im using CM9, and when I choose Bluetooth input on my radio, my Gnex automatically starts playing music with Apollo. Is there a way to remove that as a default option, or change the default to a different media player, like Pocket Casts or something else?
Any help would be appreciated!
** the launch by default option in setting/apps is greyed out and not changeable

Have you tried going into setting->apps->Apollo
And pressing clear defaults?
I have, no dice though... the "clear defaults" button is inactive.

you could try going into your system files and deleting the apollo.apk
Never liked that player anyways
So I deleted the Apollo apk, fixed that problem. Now when I sync via Bluetooth to my radio, Google music automatically starts playing. I have gone into app settings and tried to clear the defaults, but its still greyed out and not a changeable option...
Any other ideas?

Music not showing up on twiz player.

I have a question regarding the twiz music player. I'm on jellyb and somehow my stock music player or the Walkman can't "see" some of my music even thought they're in mp3 format. I've tried renaming the damn songs and they still don't pop up. I am able to play them using es explorer and having it play through stock app but it's just not popping up. Any ideas of how I could fix this?

If you just put on phone you might need to rescan media. There are apps in play store to force a rescan. Then I had a problem in the past where a app was creating a .nomedia file so the media scanner skipped that folder.

Almost like deja vu. Having the same issue in either the stock music player or Play Music. Just moved over to Note 2 from S3 and didn't have this happen on S3. Tried unmounting and mounting external SD card so as to force a rescan, no dice.
So i just rebooted the phone, went to Music Player and it's blank, says i have no music on phone. While contemplating what to do next (including downloading a re-scan media app from the market) i just let it alone and a minute later all my music started showing up and populating. I guess it took its sweet time to re-scan or get it's head right.

Only other couple things off the top of my head would be go to settings and application manager find the music player and try clearing data. My guess is that won't work since it's multiple players. Other thing I know some songs I downloaded from a mp3 app before didn't show until I updated the id3 tag for some reason. The ones that didn't show had a bunch of garbage in the id3 mostly random symbols. Once they got corrected they started showing up for me. But that was when I had my epic touch. Hope it works for ya.

[Q] How to set Play Music as default Music Player???

Hi, I'm using a Tmobile Galaxy S3 running stock rooted 4.1.2 and I have uninstalled the default music app from samsung because I don't like it.
I'd like to set Google's Play Music app as my default. I do have Amazon's MP3 Player because there are vouchers for free mp3s' every now and then.
The problem is that when I enter my car, bluetooth starts automatically the Amazon MP3 Player instead of the Play Music app. Same case when I plug in my headphones and press play it launches Amazon MP3 app. As of now I froze the app using Titanium Backup, but that is a workaround only.
How can I make the Play Music my Default music app?
Undefault the amazon app by going through settings and apps manager and unselecting default app.

At first I thought this will work but the app is not set to default.
Than that is weird lol. I don't use the app so I can't tell you on what to do. Never seen this brought up either, at least not in our section. It isn't an S3 only issue so you may want to try Googling it.
