Here are some of the bests mods for galaxy s3. the are for odex and deodexed stock rooted phones. they will work on custom touchwiz md4 based roms.
I hope you enjoy them just flash the zips in a custom recovery and wipe dalvik and cache then reboot
I comfirm they are all working.
any problems let me know.
credit to naddit for his perfect sound mod.
credit is due to other developers too but im not sure where I got some of them and some I modded myself.
download link
Mod edit. Link removed
You know, the majority of these are available in the actual threads created for them
I found I have to search for each individual mod separately. And they were all over the place. Some I added different files in the zips that weren't put together properly for flashing.
I decided that I would make life easy and put them all in one place.
MD4 stock rooted odexed, modded
There are a lot of easy to find credits that you're missing then.

I take absolutely ZERO credit for this, found it in the sensation threads, and it worked on my current ROM just fine, so should work for the rest as well..

just download the file and flash in recovery.
I'm just curious, do you guys usually flash the stock or the de-odex'd. And why do you flash the version you do? I know most people flash de-odex'd because they can be themed. But at the rate we are getting the leaks, wouldn't it be better to go with stock since apparently it's faster?
I always flash Stock Odex but the rom im trying out at the moment is not.

Just saying, the idea that odexed can't be themed is essentially a myth. Most themeing you see is done to apks resources (layouts and images) which can be modified just the same whether or not your Rom is odexed or deodexed.
Edits to jar files in specific themeing cases might require a baksmali to odex and then a dexopt -wrapper but ultimately this just translates to a bit more time but is completely plausible.
So first and foremost , odexed roms can be themed. It just appear themers prefer themeing deodexed so the idea that ONLY deodexed can be themed has become a "general rule". Deodexed roms simply make it easier to edit smali cutting down the process time.
Anyway, if you dont plan on themeing then go odex. If you do, it seems like that is the flavor of themers so unless you want to dive in yourself then you'll have to honor the trend. The speed difference you'll notice won't be *huge* between the two. The most significant difference is first boot on odex will be faster.
I've run my share of odex and deodex roms and I can't say there is a noticeable or significant hit on performance during day to day use on a device such as this.

This is a thread in the Epic 4G Touch(Sprint Galaxy S2) forum which bundles together in a list all of the stock roms that have been released, leaked, or whatever. I'm requesting that someone make such a repository for the benefit of all beginners in this forum because even though this phone is amazing and has a lot of developer support I see a general lack of care for the little guys who don't know where, or how, to find stock roms, modems, kernels, etc. The Epic 4G Touch forum has always been my favorite because they have automated scripts for flashing roms and a VERY detailed list on how to do everything from themes, recoveries, and modifications.
Isn't the Galaxy S3 THE flagship phone? If so why do I feel like nobody cares to simplify and 'perfect' the experience?
On a side note, I wish someone would make an extremely debloated stock rom with speed enhancements and general tweaks to better the experience without someone elses preferences put into the mix. Okay maybe just a tad bit of theming or what not...
Example, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363071 (PhantomHacker Blazer rom)
Here is an example of the automated script for flashing a rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1394332
The one-click odin program was made by sfhub, a great guy, who made tons of these for leaks and ota's and I would love to see these in the Galaxy S3 forum someday.
Here is his thread list: http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=86597072
I'm not sure if one click Odin is supported on s3. I made a couple dozen one clicks (Odin and Heimdall) for my captivate, but it used a verry different version of Odin. As for the repo request, check the sticky in development for all stuff I747(or look in my sig . There should be a handy dandy link to just that.
I forgot about that thread lol

I actually stumbled across this thread not to long ago and I forgot about it. There's only one thing that is missing in my opinion which is a list of the Stock roms themselves with no mods in a .Tar format for Odin so in case of a soft brick they can Odin back to stock.
I find myself actually struggling with finding a stock rom in .tar for some reason , do you happen to have a link?
I gave you a thanks for the reply! :good:
Usually, if i want an official stock, i download from sammobile.com.
Hi, everyone
I am looking for Kevdliiu Quick Settings mod for Jelly Bean 4.2.2. Yes, I am aware of thread he started, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1999125 ,but there are no updates there for a long time.
I have found that mod incorporated in MMuzzy ROM 4.2.2 for Maguro. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2096538
Is it possible to just extract SystemUI and QSCP from that ROM, copy files into zip of Kevdliu and install it? Would it work?
Thanks
Make a nandroid and try! If it does then you can post it for other users. The only issue I can see if that MMuzzy's ROM is based on AOSP so probably won't work with a 'stock' ROM based on the factory image. I'd download Paul O'Brien's MCR instead as that is based on the factory image so should work in other ROMs that aren't AOSP-based
Thanks. Well, as I cant find Brien's 4.2.2 ROM for free download, I will try with MMuzzy ROM. Do you know where is located Extended Power menu? If it is in SystemUI, then it is slim chance for me to make it work with just replacing files...
Thanks, again
It's on the link I posted, just get the pre-bake (which is free, bottom of first post. Although the pre-bake is still Jr13 which isn't 4.2.2 so might not work anyway)
Jr14 is a 4.2.2, prebake downloads are 4.2.1 I think...
edit: you already have said that...
thanks for the answers
I have poked around a little, but haven't really seen what I am after. I am trying to find a ROM that is basically stock, but has the bloatware pulled out, cleaned up, performance tweaked, possibly deodexed, etc. Just a "clean base" to get me going. Is there anything like that floating around that I simply missed?
EDIT: I meant to say "stock" as in stock Samsung, not Google/AOSP/etc.
EDIT #2: I guess really I don't mind the Google/AOSP ROMs (in fact I like a lot of it better), I just want the stock camera app and wifi calling. I had the CyanogenMod nightlys installed for a couple days, I really liked that, but I also really missed the stock camera application and wifi calling.
Wifi calling is only going to be on roms cooked for t-mobile only, the other roms will not have that option.
What you are looking for is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261013 This is what I am on and it works great. This is the stock rom de-odexed with a script you run to remove the bloat. Follow instructions closely because you do not perform a full wipe. You just flash the de-odexed rom over your existing stock rom.
