Does anyone have information about when they are going to release the update or have any info or something?

Its not just the Ouya, almost any device from 4.1 or before breaks if updated past 4.1.2.
This may not be a fix for everyone on android 4.3+ but for people with a PS3 sixaxis you might consider this: http://www.dancingpixelstudios.com/sixaxiscontroller/about.html. It works on my 4.2.1 tablet and is suppose to have been updated to fix the 4.3 bug. AFAIK
Looks like this will be a problem preventing us to get Netflix HD as only 4.3 does the DRM handling the way the Netflix app expects....I started to hate Netflix so much as they seem unable to get their acts together on any platform - either DTS is missing, or HD missing or both...
Maybe they need to hire some developers...
I heard that the next Ouya will come out with an updated operating system and no updates for this generation..

If I could recall the link I'd post it but long story short is this: Netflix will not allow any phone without a special processor on it which prevents copyright infringement to run the Netflix App. There are like 2 phones maybe which already have this, they say(speaking only of Android ones here). Snapdragon procs can indeed have this, however the OEM would have to had requested this when they ordered them from Qualquam. And apparently they did not, so if you are on an EVO you will never get legit Netflix(or on almost any other current phone). Newer phones will start to have labels like(Netflix Enabled!) soon and this is the only way android is actually gonna get Netflix. Hopefully the hacker community can get those of us with custom ROMS access but from the article I read(which was very detailed) it isn't looking very likely at all(something about Netflix being encrypted in some way and you having to have one of these special CPUs just to watch it I believe).
That sucks thats for sure. I would love netflix then I wouldn't have to carry my ipod touch around anymore.

There is a way to watch Netflix on an android Phone with Playon. Playon is PC software that runs on your home computer, and then your phone connects to your home computer. You must have your PC on anytime you want to watch Netflix. I have never tried it but I did look into it.

Isn't that the same reason Netflix doesn't run on Linux distros? So, naturally, I'd assume it'd come on to Android, only when it can first come on to Linux.

Yes and no. It actually did work on Linux way back when. But the problem is that Netflix uses Silverlight and that contains DRM libraries that Netflix enjoys. Netflix streaming worked on Moonlight a long time ago but the libraries have been updated. Now as far as phones go, there's only one phone that will officially have Netflix on Android. And that phone has a processor that plays well with the DRM.
Check out the Android Movies app, its better than netflix cause you don't need a subscription, just purchase the app and thats it!
here is a link: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.androidmovies&feature=search_result
Netflix just came or with an app some time ago and works great on the Evo.

Wow, necrothread...
** EDIT for new info **:
Flash for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be out before the end of 2011. There will be no Flash support for Android 5.0:
http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/43152/flash-for-android-4-end-2011-no-flash-for-android-5
The main reason why I switched to Android was it's Flash support. Finding out recently that ICS did not support Flash and that Adobe was discontinuing Flash development was very discouraging.
Google has confirmed that Flash is not yet operational in ICS, but Google is also confirming that Adobe will support Flash in ICS.

Although discouraging and disappointing at first, there is now hope.
So Flash Player doesn't even show up in the Android Market on the Galaxy Nexus but I thought that one can install the apk on the phone. It seems that this doesn't work either, according to other users who've already got theirs. e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351167
Half the bloody web uses Flash. How are we supposed to view those sites?
To be honest I'm glad there is no support at the moment and wish that it wouldn't come. I haven't missed it since upgrading to the Nexus and if anything browsing is faster!
has anyone tried side loading it
Flash is going to die in mobile platforms, and we should be pressing video stream websites to use html5, instead of crying about flash's death. Damn memory/cpu hog.

i dont know about you guys, but for me, more then half the web uses flash. The only reason im not getting iphone because of flash. The stream i always go to, uses flash. gonna wait a month, if they dont support flash on nexus, im getting sgs2
SGS2 will eventually get ICS and will have similar "problem"

It's no problem at all to set the flash settings to "on demand " so you have the fast browsing experience and flash if you need it.

i her simple apps like tweecaster and facebook do not work! is this true? wtf is going on?. not having flash is a bummer. at least we should have the option. volume issues, no flash, simple apps not working.. this is getting really discouraging
Because they aren't updated for ics I would say. And because the Nexus is the only ics device at the moment they are probably to lazy to do so.

you keep running the Apple party line. the rest of us would prefer to have the option for when we need it.
Adobe Flash is currently #24 in the top (free) apps for Android. and the majority of the low reviews are from idiots using 50 dollar Cricket android phones.
don't like it? don't use it. no reason to come in here and spout nonsense.
Hopefully this will shut up the people who keep going on about no Flash support on the GN. It's a brand new hardware running a brand new software; of course there are going to be compatibility issues for early adopters.

Several people have reported trying to sideload the latest flash apk for Honeycomb - it didn't work.
About the apps issue, how long is it before they usually get sorted out and ready for the latest OS (right now ICS). I know that the main reason I use my phone for is Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Browsing.
I'm not guessing too long right?

If those 4 things are your main concerns it shouldn't be a problem. As far as I know Twitter works fine. Official Facebook app has always been pretty ass on the Android so if you can live with it before you can probably live with it now. YouTube is natively supported and apart from not having Flash the browser is blazing fast.

Lack of flash is Adobe's fault, not Google's.
Not sure if this has already been addressed, but none of my apps work... Netflix, YouTube, hacked Hulu+. I'm guessing this has to do with HWA? Any help would be appreciated.

the most recent CM9 has HWA built in... i would tend to think that most of those streaming services use Digital Rights Management (DRM) which is probably not working in CM9.

I'm having this same issue. Anyone know a fix?
if you're talking about drk.hd's CM9 kang for inc then if you used the camcorder fix that was posted, i've heard that it breaks youtube, netflix, etc. If you flash the ROM without the camcorder fix then you should be set. At least that's how I understand it. I'm still waiting for CM9 to have more custimization features before I make it my daily driver so I have been holding off on using this ROM very much but I have kept up with that thread and people seemed to have problems when they used the camcorder fix. I guess it is a trade off right now that you will have to decide on if you want to use it as your daily.
I'm currently on the new Nightly CM9 and Incredikernel HWA Beta 2 and, unfortunately, same issue with the hacked Hulu plus .. Sound with scrambled green bars only. However, YouTube works though, and canceled my Netflix.
Anyone out there up to removing the device check on the latest and greatest version of Hulu+?

I've been running drk.hd's latest nightly for a few days now and am loving it. Best ICS I've tried to date. Also using Incredi Beta 2. I didn't do the camcorder fix before install and can confirm what you posted. Haven't attempted netflix but youtube is working great. If they can work a camcorder fix this will be my new daily probably for the rest of my INC's life.

Okay, so I combed over the thread again and found that even with the drivers that were released recently netflix is broken for everyone using this ROM so I'm going to retract my original statement and tell you this: you are not alone. Many people have been asking/complaining about neflix not working in this ROM and unfortunately nobody has been able to deliver as of yet. My ignorance on the topic sprouts from the fact that I don't have a netflix account therefore I don't use netflix and haven't been staying up to date on this particular issue. I am sorry for the confusion but this should set you straight. The ROM does not yet support netflix or hulu playback to my knowledge. Perhaps in the next build?
For me, some of the playback is hit or miss. I might have to reload it a few times to get it to work but eventually things like YouTube will work and I never flashed the camcorder fix. I was also wondering if this is connected to the TwitchTV app not working as well?
So I am a complete noob, however, isn't the version of Netflix dependent on what device you have? I'm pretty sure Hulu is too. Which means since the Incredible doesn't technically support ICS/HWA (?) the apps don't either? YouTube works but it's version is solely based on the Gapps you install (which are made for ICS) and it works. SO maybe port Netflix and Hulu from another device that officially has ICS?

So I was wondering if it would be feasible for Android Lollipop to be put onto the fire tv???
Seems like the Fire TV would be just as capable (if not more) than the nexus player just announced... The remote is even likely to be compatible due to the microphone being included.

You're assuming the source code for the nexus player will be released...
Since the Nexus Player is based on the Intel Atom and not an ARM processor, we can't just copy binaries over.
Unless I'm mistaken, that also means anything in the Google Play store for the Nexus Player would have to be compiled specifically for it, so the list of titles we can get on it will probably be very short. Fortunately, there is an Android x86 build of XBMC, assuming we can get it side loaded.
If anything, it sounds like this box is less flexible than the Fire TV, but I'm reserving my judgement for now.

i dont see why not.. rbox has a semi working AOSP build currently (soon to be released i think) so i dont see why its not going to be any less possible than the current 4.4 android now.
Somebody has a partially working adt-1 based build working on the oyua. I'd love to see this working on the firetv.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ouya/general/rom-android-tv-ouya-t2895293/
FireTV Bootloader is locked so I believe Lollipop is only possible if the current kernel can be used or if an exploit / workaround is found. Not outside the realm of possibility but will certainly complicate things.
If however, in the future, Amazon bases their new FireOS builds on Lollipop kernels that could really speed things along. Will be interesting to see if any future Android TV devices will be ARM based or if everything will be x86 Atom based. Google keeping their Android TV system / apps x86 based could really hurt the FireTV (insert conspiracy theory here).

Putting Lollipop on the Fire TV is one thing. Getting it to behave like the Nexus Player is something completely different... As for AOSP, I haven't really spent much time on the AOSP build. It's a very plain AOSP (actually CAF) 4.2 build, and it's pretty crappy. I do know someone is attempting a CM port though. If I get some more time, I may release my AOSP, but I don't think it can do much.
Hi,
after updating to the actual Malaysk ROM from June, Apple Music is not working anymore.
I tired all versions from 0.9.0 up to the actual 0.9.10
Apple Music try to start and the quit.
Any idea?
Nobody else useing Apple Music??
Given this is an android forum there probably aren't too many apple users.
If it's important to you roll back to a previous working rom.

Yesterday I installed the last Malaysk ROM and I had the same problem, if I try to install Apple Music from Google Play it says that is not compatible, the solution is easy:
download 1.2.1 Apple Music .apk from any website and install it.
side load is not working, because Apple Music seems to check, what device.
