H guys, so something weird is happening with my Note 2, my screen works flawlessly and it's not damaged in any way, but my s pen stopped working on most part of my screen ... Only the left top corner and bottom right corner work for now, nothing else ... Could it be that my wacom digitizer got "broken" somehow? I can write with my finger no problems, but outside of those 2 areas, the s pen is not usable ... I tried the Wacom test with *#0*# and it gets interrupted when I get out of the left corner ... So my questions are - I assume, but am not 100 % sure, that my s pen s not broken, since it works on a part of my screen ... That leaves the digitizer ... Can it be replaced alone anyhow? Or do I have to pay 180+$ for the whole package? :/

Hi,
a while ago, I cracked my Uni's LCD. So I ordered a new one including the digitizer, opened my Uni and swithched the displays. Now at times, the touch screen wouldn't work at all - unless I tap the upper left corner (the start button; in portrait mode) or the lower left corner (the left button or slightly above it; in landscape). After that, tapping everywhere works normally. Does anyone have an idea what this could be caused by or how to solve it?
Thanks in advance!
I'd make sure your contacts are very clean. If you think maybe they're not, then take out and clean contacts with dry cloth or contact cleaner and re-insert.
Also, make sure there's no debris around screen. That nothing is pressing on digitiser anywhere else that gives false postive for it.
enigma may be able to help you better, I think she's more accustomed to the HW
Generally, all touch problems are associated with a digitizer. Without actually seeing your device I assume your digitizer is faulty and the problem may be either improper adhesion or the soldering joint improperly formed. Adhesion problem may be resolved by warming the screen with a blowdryer, no need to get it hot, just slightly warm all over and smooth with a soft cloth as if you are applying a screen protector, it loosens the special sticky gel that attaches the digitizer to the LCD and usually helps in cases where sensitivity is sporadic or screen calibration returns wrong response. Check for any bubbling, although not seen when the screen is viewed directly, some may be noted at the angle.
However, in your case there are certain points that need to be pressed in order for it to work, so I take it, the screen works most of the time and the problem is intermittent, the corners that need to be pressed might be the ones where adhesion is not up to scratch.
Try re-assembly, if all fails - contact the screen supplier, faults can happen, especially in non-OEM parts.
Do keep us updated if you find the solution, I am sure all members can benefit.
Problem solved
Well over time, the situation changed so that the touch screen didn't work at all, unless I was pressing one spot above the LCD fairly hardly, at which time it worked without problems. Once I stopped presing the spot, it stopped working again.
So I tried opening the Uni and disconnecting and reconnecting the LCD FPC (which was located just under the spot that needed to be pressed), which seems to have solved the problem
My phone was dropped the other day and seem to still work fine except after a couple of days the touch screen stopped working. The only thing you can see on the screen is like a ink blot in the top right hand corner. So does that mean that I have a broke LCD or is something else wrong?
Also I have tried to find a Tilt 2 lcd but have been unable to. I can find a TP2 LCD easy but it has the hole in it for the front camera. Would I be able to use the TP2 screen if I can't find a Tilt 2 one?
So my phone screen has been acting erratically after a drop. Clicks on buttons/icons by itself, makes its own calls when in the address book, I have a difficult time typing the right buttons... for example, if I push 5, i get an 8, or if I type 6 I get a three... sometimes there are dialog boxes I cant click on due to being in the middle of the screen..... Other positions on the screen work fine....
I did replace this broken digitizer with another one that had cracks, but the phone stopped acting erratically.. I just had the button issues... which I attribute to the cracked screen...
So my theory is that my digitizer broke, although no visible breakage lines/cracks... I get ready to order a new digitizer when some one tells me the digitizer does nothing more than the utilizes the 4 bottom buttons (home, menu, etc) and plays the role of the glass protector from the lcd. ... and that I need a new LCD... Not a new digitizer.....but I thought the LCD was nothing more than the display screen, as in a tv..... I thought all the input was done via the digitizer screen.. Am I wrong??? Did I miss the boat on the role of the digitizer and the LCD? Thanks!

What ROM are you using? I've found that many non-sense ROMs ability to sense your input can be glitchy and unreliable. Had this problem forever with CM7. Thought it was my screen or it was scratched, but after testing out a few sense ROMs, I've never had a problem since. And I've dropped this bad boy many a time.
Hi, I have an issue that has formed after glass replacement on my Note 2. I was extremely careful in trying not to damage anything during the replacement process and I did not use excessive heat either, keeping the screen under 170 degrees F to loosen the cracked screen. The issue is that about half the time the phone touch screen will stop working during normal use and then when I hit the lock button on the right side and then unlock the phone again it will be ok for a while before it acts up again. So far, I have done a soft and hard reset with no luck. I noticed the problem is worse when the 12 small screws in the back of the phone are very tight, I loosened them all a few turns and this helped it act up less. The pen always works. I installed a multi touch testing app and this proves that something is up because it sometimes reads fingers that arent there, generally in the middle of the screen and sometimes this programs just completely flips out and reads fingers everywhere. So at this point Im guessing that maybe the replacement glass is too close to the LCD? It also does seem to be negatively affected if I bend the whole phone slightly, this also sometimes causes the touch screen to flip out of just quit altogether. Any input is extremely appreciated!
Is there supposed to be anything between the glass and the lcd when the glass is replaced? Sorry if thats a dumb question.
Hi,
Unfortunately for me i dropped my phone and cracked my tempered glass in several places. gladly the screen underneath was perfectly fine after drop however, it has developed a fault as the screen won't turn on at all. I tried turning it off and restarting and although i can hear the boot up logo sound i see no picture at all. i can receive calls but cannot answer due to screen not displaying.
The screen had four main pressure cracks.... one is top left, one on the ear speaker, one bottom middle and one bottom left of phone. hopefully you can see it in picture.
Can you give advice on what to try or do to resolve this? will i need a new screen or disassemble to see what the issue is?
I've only had the phone for 2/3 months at most
Thanks in advance
looks like i will answer my own question....
i bought a replacement lcd & digitiser, one complete unit and swapped the necessary components over to new screen. all is working and good. not sure if the screen is repairable but there are other parts inside this screen worth selling on. it still has a non cracked immaculate screen along with the charging port and other stuff inside old screen.
at a cost of £70, i consider this an expensive fix
Thanks for the input kakawak
cheers
