Watz goin' on yall????
I am looking to develop a custom rom for the N900T and got the phone rooted! ((used chainfie method))....I downloaded terminal and tried to copy the system file to my SD card, I've made a Nandroid and titatium backup for the N3 stock rom.....downloaded all the devz. tools kitchen is giving me HELL cooking and terminal wont copy nothing....
I'm newbie to developing on android, searched all around and most tutz and suggestion are helpful but a little old and was wondering sumbody could help me......
Kitchen gives me a error saying "no system folder found" I've transferred a copy of the phone/system folder to sdcard wit TWRP and put it in the home/user/kitchen folder/original&update folder and then copied to working folder....for I believe I'm missin' the phone data, meta-inf, and the boot.img files.....
Terminal seems like it take the su command but gives me a error after typing copy system >> sdcard command from the tutz and it was a no go!
i'm confused about that?
where can I find these files??? Thanks in advance

Every time i try to flash a rom i get a error that says
E:Cant find update script
Using Amon Ra recovery. Wiped everything and partitioned sd card.
Thanks for any help
Sounds like the update package is not signed with valid keys. Is your phone rooted ?

check your zip. If you zip a file two folders deep it will give the same error. open your zip and see if you see your files or another folder.
yeah when i unzip it, the first folder i see is the name of the rom "fresh" then when i open it, I see; boot image file, data folder, META-INF folder, sdcard folder, and system folder.
Well update script is in META-INF\com\google\android but if your zip file is not signed then it can't be flasshed that is why you get upgrade script not found.
How do i do that????? And walk me through what "signed" means
And im using a macbook pro if that helps any
Thanks a ton
Well did unziped the zip folder ? Did you make any changes to the installation zip ?
Now what rom are you running. So you have root ? When you use connectbot and type su deo you see #? It could be that your phone is not ruter and does not have proper recovery installed since we can't sign rom with the same keys that developers at sprint use we have to root the phone and allow it to accept custom rom.
all i did was download the fresh rom from the forum onto my computer, compressed it (zipped it) then rebooted my phone into recovery, wiped everything i needed to, enabled the usb, moved the zip over to the phone, disabled the usb and then went to flash zip, found the zipped fresh rom and tried to flash it.
Im running my stock rom that came with the phone.
If you running this on mac the os x will unzip ypur file and put the download file in trash so use zip file from trash. Now You need to use simple root to root and install proper recovery on your phone then you will be able to install custom rom .
Awesome! found the zip file in the trash like you said, transfered that over and it worked! thank you thank you thank you!
Hey guys! I am having some problems with my SpaceROM update! I am currently trying to get the Titanium.apk on there (I know where to put it). This is what I did.
Extracted my ROM
Went into system
Then went into apps
I copied and pasted the app in there
I archived the ROM back into a zip file
I tried to open it in Android Kitchen (Do to some extra tweaks)
But it said "No system folder found"
So then I googled it and it said you need to resign the ROM after you tweak it
So I download and use a ROM signer (I'm not sure if it worked or not)
Then I tried to open the ROM in Android Kitchen again
And it gave me that same message!
What I am wanting to do is change apps and possible the bootanimation.zip
Any help is greatly appreciated
okay guys this is my first android phone, first time rooting, first time for all of it basically.
i have a galaxy s3 i747m that i managed to root already. now i downloaded a ROM that i want and using android file exchange( I AM ON A MAC MAYBE MY PROBLEM?)
so i found the file on my mac, opended file exchange, put the file on my SD card.
now when i go into ROM manager i go to "install ROM from SD card" but it shows me everything thats on my phone not my SD card....i looked everywhere but the file is not there and i cant figure out why its doing this.
so i thought maybe if i save it to my phone i can find it,so i did that and i found the ROM file, but now when i open the file it just shows me
META-INF/ and system/ but on my computer it shows me something called BOOT.IMG.
im guessing this is the part of the file i need since nothing else works?
let me know guys im stuck, and sorry for the long post.
thanks guys!

DON'T touch this boot.img you taklking about.
Can you cannect phone by USB to your mac? ( sorry i'm PC guy). If you do just go open your phone with explorer in you mac then create folder on SD card "ROMS" in example , copy downloaded rom from your mac to phone this way you will know where it is. Now if you did not install CWM (clockwork mod recovery) install one from Rom Manager and reboot in it. Choose install from card and find roms folder you created and rom you copied in to folder choose this rom. Now follow instruction.
BTW. Before you start flashing roms READ more anthill you sure you know how is done for 100%. There are so many info how this should be done. READ this first :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1725839 Twice if you have to.
Good luck
Hi, i flashed a maguro rom and got stuck at bootscreen.
i couldnt mount my sdcard in cwm, because it made a 0/ directory and couldnt find sd_ext
i had no other rom on my sd card, so i started looking for a way out, ended up formatting my sdcard ..
no sweat : -) lmao
next i got the sdk, installed the fastboot driver , ok, i got connection to my device.
but apparently to push a rom i need ADB, and i cant get ADB working, neither when im in cwm or on fastboot mode.
so i need access to the sdcard inside the Phone, i checked youtube , but dissasembling the Phone doesnt reveal the sd card :/
its soldered in there or smthn.
please help me get a rom on my sdcard.
Thanks in advance for any responses.
Grtz
Woah woah woah woah woah. Slow down! How did this escalate to unsoldering the sdcard so quickly? All the files you had WERE still on your sdcard in the /0/ folder. Pretty sure you deleted them all when you formatted your sdcard. I think you can push the files via adb?. Would have been really simple if you would have searched/asked before formatting.
adb working

I got adb working in clockwordmod now, i pushed the cwm10 rom, renamed it to update.zip
and used this command : adb push update.zip /sdcard/update.zip
it transfers and gives me the speed message in the cmd prompt.
but when i then reboot and go into fastboot i type fastboot update /sdcard/update.zip , it says cant find file.
also when im in cwm and i try to "install zip from sdcard" -> "choose zip from sdcard" i get message in the advanced-log :
using data/media for /sdcard/ , im looking now for a command to browse the directory structure of my Phone.
is this possible with adb?
any tips are greatly appreciated !
Grtz
flashed , trying to boot now..loading...
in my last post i said it was using /data/media for sdcard/
so i adb pushed the file to /data/media and in clockworkmod , selected choose from sdcard
and it worked ! i saw update.zip , installed it, im now running cyanogmod10.
thanks for the reply's even tought it didnt help.
any effort is appreciated.
Thanks! bye! =)
Okay Fellas I need help with the basics.
I have a Galaxy Note 3. I successfully rooted it using the guidance provided here by the members. I also put clockworkmod revoery on the phone.
I am attempting to use clockwork mod to download zip files from my computer onto my external SD card and then install the included programs onto my phone. Everything works with me using Samsung Kies to detect my phone on my computer. I downloaded the zip files and UNZIPPED them first. I then used Kies to transfer the unzipped files onto my phone. I then used Clockwork mod and hit install zip. Next I selected install from external SD card and I see the unzipped files in clockwork. But everytime I select the files Clockwork tells me there are no files available, yet it is showing me the files. Essentially I am getting a reading of no content on the unzipped files I am being shown inb Clockwork.
Maybe the mistake i am making is I am not supposed to be unzipping the files before uploading them to my phone. Should they stay as zipped files when I transfer them or am I right in unzipping them forst on the computer.
I have been struggling with trying to get Clockwork to install the files for two days. Maybe you guys can tell me what basic steps that I am missing
Thanks so much
No need to unzip
