Hello XDA,
I love Cyanogenmod, it's so much better than TouchWiz! My only issue is that on my Sprint Galaxy S3, on the Credo Mobile network (an MVNO of Sprint), I don't get LTE...I know I have fair LTE signal in my area because on TouchWiz, I get LTE. On Cyanogenmod, however, I get 3G, and when I turn on the LTE toggle, it either stays on 3G, switches to 1X data, or loses data connection altogether. I've done PRL and Profile updates, and the problem remains.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I'm also on Credo. I moved over from AT&T, which is a company I never cared to do business with and which also always seemed to treat my business as an annoyance, but which had great coverage. I put our whole family on Credo because my wife was a longstanding customer. I haven't had decent coverage at any time.

Credo runs with Sprint, so i wouldn't expect decent coverage. I know that I do have LTE coverage in this area, but I can't use Touchwiz because my SIM somehow got PUK blocked and Credo refuses to give me the PUK code because I'm rooted. So yeah.

While it's true that Sprint's coverage isn't great, the OP said he got coverage before installing CM. So it's likely that weak coverage is not the issue.
Also, I'm having the same problem. :/
More info...
It's not rooting itself that is the problem. I simply went back to the Nandroid backup I'd made before loading Cyanogen, and internet connectivity returned while I was still rooted.
I had the same issue with Liquid Smooth that I had with Cyanogen, and got out of it the same way.
And I've seen posts where people said that "Your signal isn't really any different - it's just that Sprint and other carriers pad their signal strength meters to make themselves look better, and loading a new ROM omits that," but that can't be the core issue either, because with CyanogenMod and Liquid Smooth, I was unable to connect to sites/apps with a "check your internet connection" error, whereas I could connect to them in the same place once I returned to my rooted/stock ROM status.
I'm a Credo member in Minneapolis experiencing the same issue with my GS3. What I figured out by accident is that I can get an LTE connection by making a backup of my phone, then wiping it, restoring the backup, and wiping my cache and dalvik. Two times in three I get LTE when the device reboots, but only until I restart the device or switch to a wifi connection and back. I've been experimenting with different radio/baseband versions (as described here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1787677), but so far have had no luck getting LTE to stick. Hopefully this will be resolved with further development, but fortunately my 3G speeds are pretty decent, so I can wait for a long-term fix to (hopefully) fall into place.

I've figured out what my issue is, I'm not sure that it will apply to you. Somehow, the internal LTE SIM card got PUK locked, which is why i can't get LTE on cyanogenmod, or use touchwiz at all...and Credo doesn't even have access to the PUK codes! I'm wondering if I can use this to leverage my way out of my contract without paying ETFs...

so here a question while you're rooted. backup apn in touchwiz. then when you flash cyanmod. which has to be rooted. restore the touchwiz apn. issue solved.

No, APNs are not the issue. I can't even use the phone AT ALL in Touchwiz...when I boot in to touchwiz, even unrooted, it asks for a PUK code, which I don't have and can't get.

Dumb question: the cursory bit of reading I did on PUK codes after seeing this post suggested they applied only to GSM phones, where I understand Sprint/Credo to use a CDMA network. How is the issue applicable even in your case, and where would you go in CM to enter the code if you did have it?

It is true that Sprint is a CDMA network and does not need a SIM card to function for basic voice and 1X or 3G data, but 4G LTE requires a SIM card on both GSM and CDMA, most CDMA LTE phones have that SIM card embedded. In Cyanogenmod if you go into Settings -> Security -> SIM Card Lock. That's how I accidentally locked myself up.
Anyone figure out how to get 4g or LTE to work with the samsung galaxy s3 on credo with cyanogenmod 10.2? I was reading that 10.2 fixed the issue, but I still get no connection when I try it out. I also can't send mms on my phone, so i'm thinking of flashing back to stock, fixing the APNs, and then hopefully re-flashing cyanogenmod. Wonder if that'll fix it.

I'm going to just flash with the stock ROM, update the prl, profile and everything to the newest versions, and then backup that rom again, then install cyanogenmod again.
I'll let you know how the process works.
It worked with Credomobile in the Atlanta area using Sprint LTE. See instruction below

Ho. Ly. Crap. That finally did it!
From the APNs menu (I accessed it with a shortcut in Nova Launcher, but I believe you can say "open APNs" in the dialer to do it?) I selected Sprint Internet and edited the name to n.w1.ispsn. After that, I toggled airplane mode and my phone was finally able to connect to an LTE signal! Huzzah!
Thanks for everyone that helped out in this thread. Hopefully this'll be helpful to others in the future.
And now I am off to get my shiny new CM ROM set up

Damn, quoted the wrong post. I was referring to hanson's post about renaming the APNs.
Latest Credo Mobile APNs
Ok, Cyanogenmod doesn't come with the correct APNs for 3rd party Sprint Network users. You have to remove the default APNs and then add the latest Preferred Roaming List. Also known as the Access Point Name (APN).
Here is the file with the new Credo Mobile APNs for any ROM that can't connect to LTE or to Sprint's servers to get MMS messages.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/7es3vh5c67jdqwh/apns-credo.xml
This xml file is structured to be used with the app "APN Backup & Restore" .
Make sure the APN app is moved to the system folder. I used "/system/app mover" to do this.
Below is the code to the XML file.
Code:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='yes' ?>
<apns count="4">
<apn name="APN0 LTE ota" numeric="310000" mcc="310" mnc="000" apn="otasn" user="" server="" password="" proxy="" port="" mmsproxy="" mmsport="" mmsprotocol="null" mmsc="" type="fota" />
<apn name="APN0 EHRPD ota" numeric="310000" mcc="310" mnc="000" apn="otasn" user="" server="" password="" proxy="" port="" mmsproxy="" mmsport="" mmsprotocol="null" mmsc="" type="fota" />
<apn name="APN2 LTE internet" numeric="310000" mcc="310" mnc="000" apn="n.w1.ispsn" user="" server="" password="" proxy="" port="" mmsproxy="68.28.31.7" mmsport="80" mmsprotocol="null" mmsc="http://mms.plspictures.com" type="default,mms" />
<apn name="APN2 EHRPD internet" numeric="310000" mcc="310" mnc="000" apn="n.w1.ispsn" user="" server="" password="" proxy="" port="" mmsproxy="68.28.31.7" mmsport="80" mmsprotocol="null" mmsc="http://mms.plspictures.com" type="default,mms" />
</apns>
UPDATE: This list of APNs provide 3G, 4G LTE EVDO, and 2G CDMA but NOT MMS support. I don't know why. I am looking into updating my code.
2015 cm 12.1 credo mobile APN settings
since this is the first XDA thread showing in my search results, I'll just bump this for posterity. CM has implemented the Credo APN settings into the frontend settings app since at least CM12 (poorly, but they try. I'm sure the carriers don't make this a simple task with ongoing network config changes. )
I had to switch my network mode to LTE-only in order to get my APN settings to actually list the props available. Once they were shown, I finally figured out that I could just edit the Sprint-LTE-internet profile and just edit the correct gateway (n.w1.ispsn instead of just n.ispsn)
Here's some screenies for the entire prop settings that got me connected to LTE after an airplane-mode toggle:

What version of cm are you running? Should be in
System settings
Mobile networks
Access point names
If the profiles list doesn't populate, try using different " preferred network types" but lte-only worked for me.
On other aosp roms you might have to open voice dialer and say "APN" to get into the cdma settings/ hidden menu

I have read that you can change your APN settings to turn off LTE. However, I found another way (with the help of carefreelife). Use at your own risk! I am not responsible for any harm you may do though it seems fairly safe to me!:
UPDATE: THERE IS NOW AN EASIER METHOD TO DO THIS WITHOUT PULLING THE SIM AND REBOOTING (check out post #47 below or use this link)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37310325&postcount=47
[OLD METHOD]1) With phone on, take off back cover and press your SIM card so it releases from the spring. It won't come all the way out as it's blocked by the battery. This seems fine - I didn't bother trying to force it out as I didn't want to break anything...
2) Once you see the message that the SIM card is removed, go to the dialer and dial *#2263#
3) You should see a menu with band selections. The current setting is "Automatic". If you switch to "GSM All", you will be EDGE (2G). If you switch to "WCDMA All", you will be on HSPA+ (3G, though AT&T and others call it 4G).
4) Press the SIM card back into place until it clicks. For whatever reason the phone will not recognize it until you reboot. Upon reboot you should see your new setting in effect.[/OLD METHOD]
I was attempting to follow this procedure for the S2:
{Trick} Get Around "RAT SELECTION RESTRICTED" on i897 modems! - xda-developers
...but I couldn't get the SIM out easily so I left it in...and followed the steps. It wouldn't recognize that the SIM had been reinserted so I gave up and rebooted...and it worked! No need to mess with airplane mode or anything just follow the steps above.
I was then able to follow the same procedure and turn back on the default setting which was "1) Automatic". After a reboot I am again connected to LTE.
Reason I'm using this: I'm testing a major battery drain issue that might be related to LTE/HSPA+ switching.
Reason you might want this: If you have poor LTE signal or even poor HSPA+ signal and want your phone to stop trying to connect to that network, this will stop it.
UPDATE:
A little bit of bad news here:
I have been on "WCDMA All" (HSPA+ aka 3G4/G, with LTE disabled) for 10 days now with ZERO problems whatsoever.
However, I am pretty sure that whichever you choose, if not "Automatic", you will be locked to ONLY that band:
i.e. if you choose "WCDMA All" you will not only be disabling LTE, but also 2G (EDGE) as well. You may not need it (and if so, it will not effect you) - but if your phone loses the HSPA+ signal, it will not fall back to 2G unless you change the setting.
I tested this theory by setting my phone to "LTE all" and trying to call myself from another phone. The call went straight to my voicemail. LTE is data only (for now) and when you receive a call, it switches to HSPA+. Unfortunately, since I had set my phone to "LTE All", it stayed on LTE and could not receive the call.
This may not be a deal-breaker but it's something to be aware of, for sure. I only tested "LTE All" because it was easy to do so, but I am assuming the same applies for the other settings...only "Automatic" would seem to pick the best available network.

Edited OP and changed thread title. Please help me test this. Thanks!
Just out of my curiosity, can you not do this:
settings > wireless and networks > more settings > mobile networks > network mode > GSM/HSPA
I have the Bell version, which is similar to ATT's, wondering if ATT disabled that option.

Yes, it is disabled on AT&T versions. If you try the method I listed above without removing the SIM card, it will be blocked as well.
AT&T does not want us to have any control over which network we connect to. It's been speculated that they want us forced on to LTE to take strain off the HSPA network. Honestly I think that's fine - though I prefer to have a choice - except that I suspect LTE switching is causing my battery drain issue and I need to turn it off in order to test that theory.

carefreelife at Android Central forums showed me that WCDMA All is the proper setting to disable LTE and stay on HSPA. It's working for me and seems to be perfect!

My battery life is great too - there just seems to be a bug that causes it to suddenly become terrible and drain fast until it's rebooted. This is just a method I'm using to test it.
It's possible that disabling LTE can increase battery life but I'm not sure there's any evidence that LTE uses more battery than HSPA+. On older phones the LTE was not integrated into the SoC and thus was a power hog...but it's integrated on the S3.
For users who are on fringe areas and receive poor LTE or HSPA+ coverage...the phone will use extra battery trying to connect and stay connected to those...even if it's [mostly] unsuccessful. Using this method would be a good idea for people who would rather just stay on the bands with strong signal and stop wasting battery trying to get on LTE or HSPA+ fruitlessly.
Thanks a lot for this I've been wanting to switch to 2g only THANKS

You can mix the different bands between wcdma and gsm and their frequencies, that way you can get the best signal in your area.

I can't guarantee this works with any modifications to stock as I have only done it on my unrooted stock AT&T S3.
CM10. I just learned that you can only use dialer codes on stock roms. AOSP roms don't recognize them. There's a small few that work. obviously this one doesn't. Where can I find the APN info?
Nice find!! Works perfectly with my AT&T Galaxy S3. Going to test it out for a few days. I have 4G LTE where I live but when I go to college in the fall there won't be any LTE. This will come in handy!
However, with the WCDMA option enabled, does this mean you only have access to 3G and not 2G? Sometimes when I am in rural areas there is no 3G so I need to use EDGE or GSM. Hopefully with the WCDMA all enabled 2G is still accessible.

That's a great question. I have looked at it like a hierarchy but there's plenty of reason to believe it could be otherwise. There's not really anywhere in Miami I can go that doesn't have really strong HSPA+ so I don't know how I can test it. If anyone can do this test themselves and see what happens when you leave a 3G area please post results here.
Actually, once I am done testing the battery drain I could switch from Automatic to LTE and find somewhere in Miami where there's only 3G and see if it switches down to 3G or just loses signal entirely. Someone could also switch to LTE mode and try to receive a phone call...if it is truly locked on ONLY LTE then it won't be able to take a call...
The more I think about it the more it seems like this could be a major drawback of this method. I look forward to testing this later and hearing what you guys find as well. Thanks!

I'd also love to know if 2G works, but I can't while in North California. There isn't a single place within a 20 mile radius of where I live that doesn't have full LTE and HSPA+ coverage since so many people live here. I go to college in a fairly rural area in California though so in late September I'll be able to confirm if we can get 2G with the WCDMA method.
Hi everyone,
So, I've got an interesting issue, and I realize that it is likely my fault. I was flashing various ROM's (CM10, CM9 etc) on the phone, and eventually when I put the stock ROM back on, I was only able to connect on "EDGE". I called Rogers and they said my account checked out. So, I did more ttroubleshooting, and in that I noticed that my IMEI was set to "0". So, I found a guide on here to re-add the IMEI using QPST and I was able to get back on 3G, but no 4G/LTE. After rebooting and some time passed, I am now on 4G, but no LTE and this is my issue. Before you say 4G is LTE, I tend to want to disagree. I used to get LTE, and I did see it pop up once since I fixed the phone, but the phone crashed and i wasn't able to test it with LTE running. Since then, I haven't seen it again. I also ran the "Phone Info" app, and if I set it to LTE only, I never get a data connection, even after rebooting, pulling battery etc.
Why I think 4G is not LTE is because when I ran speedtests before I broke my phone, I was getting 28MB down, and 8-10MB up. now, I'm lucky if I'm getting 1MB down and .2MB up. I have once gotten 4MB down, and .8MB up, but this is WELL below LTE speeds that I've had in the past.
I'm hoping someone might be able to help me get back to a 100% clean, stock ROM, modem, firmware etc. I have installed 2 different stock ROM's that I found for the Rogers i747m; one is ~700MB, the other is 1.2GB. Both have the same issue with 4G only. I've also flashed the stock Rogers modem, and still no luck.
Any help would be appreciated, but here are some specific questions if you can help.
Does anyone have screenshots of their stock "about" page, and the "status" page in the phone menu?
Does anyone have a bone stock "complete" firmware/ROM for the Rogers i747?
Is there anything I can do to fix this on my current ROM (stock)?
Thank you!
Here are the threads I've reviewed and followed to try and resolve the issue.

Well I know you are right about one thing when it says 4g it's not the same as LTE mine says LTE when it's on LTE. I'm on Telus though. I have seen others in Canada with this issue after restoring the IMEI, maybe you should check that thread to see if there are any solutions.

I ran through every post in that thread, but still no LTE. Man this is driving me crazy. I'll pay someone if they can help me get LTE back... I've already restored the QCN info using the QCN creator posted in one of the threads.

Thanks for replying. The apn settings are correct, ltemobile.son and the tethering one. This was one of the first things I checked. I'll add screenshots tomorrow if it's helpful
Thanks!
Interesting...got on LTE randomly...well sort-of

So, here's something a bit more interesting. Just before bed last night, I caught my phone on the LTE network. I tried loading a few pages/apps, but nothing was working. AFter about a minute, I lost all data connection and it popped back up about 10 seconds later back on 4G and was working again. Not sure if this helps anything, but I did grab a screenshot when it was on LTE.
Anyone?

Thanks for that thread, but does anyone know why the person is removing the SIM and going through all that trouble when rebooting does the exact same thing?
I have used the #2263 menu to set my phone into LTE only mode, and I get no data connection, nor any cell connection either. Switch it back to Automatic and it jumps right back on 4G.
It is faster to remove the sim and enter *#2263# code lol. Once the sim is removed, a no sim notification should appear. Better than waiting for you phone to reboot.
I will post my lte apn setting for you. Hopefully that will help.

It could also be the modem... I have a link to a stock rogers modem. Just flash in recovery and you may have LTE again. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29517422&highlight=rogers#post29517422
Just fyi...
I also have a Rogers S3 and noticed that I am not getting the LTE icon on the notification bar after the first week. Now, I only get a 4G icon in GSM, HSDPA, LTE mode, and 3G/H+ in GSM, HSDPA mode.
However, with the 4G icon, I can still get speeds of 30Mbps down, 13 Mbps up, and under System Information, it shows LTE in Network Type.
My conclusion was that dont rely on the icon in the notification bar. Check the system information page to see the actual network type.
The only time I can get the LTE icon to actually show when I am connected to the LTE network instead of the 4G icon is through re-flashing the ROM. I have tried clearing the cache through recovery menu and it still wont work.
I know this doesnt solve your issue, but I hope this will help anyone that stumble across this problem.
Cheers
Thanks for posting all of that. My APN settings are the same, except the APN type. Mine is set to "Internet + MMS". If I change it, I am prompted with a menu to choose from and the settigns on yours are not in the list. Basically it has the folllwing list:
Internet + MMS + DUN
Internet + MMS
Internet + DUN
INternet
MMS
DUN
Also, flashing the Rogers Modem was probably one of the first things I did. I thought that would have been most likely.
My mobile Network type is UMTS:3 and I am definately not getting LTE speeds. I've heard people say that they only see the 4G icon, but get LTE speeds, but I'm only getting about 5down, and less than 1 up. I say that when I was on another ROM, it showed 4G, but seemed much quicker. Now I'm just hosed.
Out of curiosity, under the system settings, what do you have listed for ERI Version and IMEI SV?
Thanks!
Any other ideas?
Mine show ERI Version: Not Available
IMEI SV:01
Hope that help you.
Side note: I also note that for reasons of economy of battery when I switch to GSM network and I want to return to the lte network, it takes a long time to show me the lte icon....it's seem to stuck a few minutes on the edge even if gsm/hspa/lte(auto mode) is selected.

check peoplearmy's thread - he added info on how to also restore data. if you have having a problem, maybe don't use your own qcn, generate one with his method and restore that. Worked like a charm for me.

I'm pretty sure I did that...but you have to use your own QCN to generate the new "injected" QCN. As far as I know, it doesn't generate one out of nothing. Unfortunately, I didn't have a QCN generated prior to breaking it. Now the "original" QCN I have is "broken" so when I inject it, it's injecting into a broken QCN.
Something I was curious about doing was getting another Rogers S3 QCN (from a willing XDA member), modifying the IMEI and injecting that back into my phone. Not sure if that would break things, but it might be worth a shot. I'm pretty desperate at this point.
Anyone willing to send me their Rogers QCN, so I can replace the IMEI, and inject it into my phone? Worst case the phone blows up, best case I get LTE back, or just restore my current "broken" QCN.
Thanks!
So...I am now fairly convinced that it actually is a hardware issue and not a software issue. I noticed that it was on LTE again (4th time in a week). I was outside walking my dog. I checked tosee if it was working, and out of shock it was! I then downloaded and ran speedtest...got 28down, 9.5 up. BAM!
Now, here's the kicker. I am in a zone where I've always had 4 bars of LTE, except now I can only get it outside. I checked the signal and it was at 62dbm. Walk inside my house, and it jumps to 87+ dbm and drops LTE. I've always had full LTE signal in my house, work, everywhere, now nothing. Based on this, I am certain that the antenna/radio is pooched. Now I have to either get it repaired or get a refurb...ugh. Giving up my month and a half old phone for a refurb really blows...
I am with Telus, and having the exact same problem (minus the IMEI thing).
I flashed to CM10, and my LTE stopped working. Went back to stock, and it's still not working.
Setting phone to LTE only gets me no signal.
I've tested it in Toronto, Mississauga, Barrie (all LTE capable) and nothing is working.
Apparently, it's an issue with the phone. Search Google for Galaxy S3 radio issues (or swap radio for signal) and there is tones of threads. I have a refurb phone coming from Rogers this week, and I'm gonna leave it at stock. Really sucks...but LTE is the bomb.
I read on one thread that Samsung is supposed to push a code fix for the modem, but that's from a bunch of people speculating on the issue. How true it is...time will tell. I'll post back if/when I get LTE back on the new phone.
So, I just got the new phone and LTE is back working everywhere it used to with full signal and full speed.
I hAve this now too...but it's just the icon as I am getting LTE speeds.
Might call Rogers too...
Hi,
I installed YongShi's ROM last night. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1705667) It's a nice ROM, despite the bloatware still being in /system/apps, though they aren't installing.I edited build.prop to change the language, region, and time zone (4 lines). Later, I try to go online w/o wifi, but there's no mobile network. 3g/4g is connected (mobile data on) but it doesn't detect a network, even though the plan has 4g. I did a factory reset, just in case, but no dice. Does anyone have any ideas, how to make the mobile network work? Any help'd be appreciated.
I've also tried to re-flash stock 167 (http://main.develoid.com:81/lg/Optimus LTE/LG-LU6200/Stock Firmware/LU620167_00.kdz) but the KDZ_FW_UPD program had a problem at unpacking the kdz file (or something like it). I tried re-flashing via the LG Support Tool, but it pauses at 4%, right when it goes into download mode. FlashTool (UpTestEX.exe) also crashes when checking for mobile phone info., so I can't use that.
I know the ROM is customized for Shanghai, so maybe something's off in /system? BTW, I'm in Korea and the phone's under an LG plan, if that helps.

haven't had a chance to get at it (it's the gfs). I've been looking for specific lg u+ apn info, but can't seem to find any.
so, to do this, are either of these methods that I found on the web valid? (I only have a flip phone and a wifi only device)

Is this saying that I need to make four separate APNs, each with the above info entered via settings->wireless etc etc OR should I edit the apns-conf.xml and the /apps/common/res/apns.xml directly? also, the "wroaming"; is that a typo or should that be entered as written? I'm not a stranger to Android, but I'm green w/r/t 4G and LTE and the like...so the help is appreciated. Thanks!

also: when we (gf and I) talked on the phone, the service seemed...really bad. dropped several times. can I assume that she's stuck on the 2G CDMA line and can use the *#*#4636#*#* set preferred network type to...well, ok since I haven't seen or done this before and won't have internet whiel doing this, I know that the 2G Network is CDMA 800 / 1900, the 3G Network CDMA2000 1xEV-DO, HSDPA 2100 and the 4G Network LTE 800. I read that "LTE only" is data only...so...?
For those of you have LTE connection issues when in the past LTE worked fine I want to share what I did and it worked. I am not in a Spark area and after getting the update from Sprint I lost LTE connection at work. I previously had LTE a 100% of the time at work. I noticed that a lot of folks on the Sprint forums were having the very same issue. After researching with Sprint to solve my problem (They were no help at all), and the combination of things I read here on xda (I can't find the forum So I take not credit for this) I want to share the solution that worked for me.
1. Call Sprint and obtain your MSL code
2. In the phone dialer enter ##3282#
3. press LTE and enter edit, Enter MSL code
4. Click on LTE, then bands 26 and 41 and disable both of them
5. Phone should reboot and LTE should work as it did before
If someone would be so kind if I can't find the threads on here I would like to link them and give credit were it is due.
I just wanted to share what worked for me.

Just a note if you get a profile or prl update that you did not initiate you will have to turn off bands 26 and 41 again following the steps above.
Disabling bands 26 (800mhz) and 41 (2500mhz) seems counterproductive to the gains that Sprint Spark is supposed to bring. I'm guessing it's probably region specific to those having LTE issues where disabling these bands "fixes" whatever issues you're having (maybe Spark is not fully deployed, etc). I'm not having these LTE issues by the way, and LTE coverage here in NYC has improved to the point that i even get LTE in some underground subway stations.

That's the exact problem, the roll out is far from nation wide. So if you are in a non spark area, the phone constantly seems to search for it. My battery life significantly decreased on ZVC. Once I shut off those bands, my LTE was much more stable and battery life improved greatly.

So I jumped on the AT&T/DirecTV Unlimited data deal and ported my phone today. It all looked normal and I got the activation texts and such - it even populated the nxtgenphone APN info (though it was deselected and I had to select it). Anyway, I've had no data at all. As a test, I switched the APN to phone and data works, but the speeds appear to be much lower than what my wife's iPhone is seeing on the nxtgenphone APN. Anyone got any tips?
I'm running Viper 2.5, latest US unlocked firmware and US unlocked selected as carrier, and it works fine on AT&T other than this......only other thing I can mention is when I select preferred band or whatever it shows WCDMA/GSM and if I change it to WCDMA/GSM/LTE it reverts back for some reason. Any help much appreciated. I've called AT&T and they're like, uh, we don't sell the HTC 10 so can't really help you... grrrrrr.....

I'd suggest ruu to stock us unlocked rom and see if the issue persists.
Or, try clean flash of viper.
I have no issues using US unlocked on AT&T with both stock rom and ice.
Thanks for trying to help. I just finished trying stock RUU and same problem. I'm convinced, as I was before, that this is AT&T's issue. I've read numerous posts this afternoon that because the HTC 10 (and other phones) aren't in their "LTE approved" database, nxtgenphone APN won't work, or it will only give HSPA speeds. Seems like everyone who has resolved it, or didn't run into the issue at all had another AT&T LTE phone they could use for the IMEI on the account, or the rep entered the model as an iPhone or similar to make it work. Really, really frustrating, as they refuse to help me and I'm starting to think I should just terminate in the 14 day window and do T-mobile or Verizon.
I have at&t and everything worked out of the box, I've never been on stock rom, always on Viper I did the unlock and s-off without a sim and never had an issue or called at&t to activate the device I just transferred my sim from my note 4 to the HTC 10, no provisioning issues at all, VOLTE works, LTE is fine as well while on a phone call... No issues... If you need anything to compare let me know

Thanks for replying. They did confirm it was a provisioning issue and they fixed it today. They had to do something different, as the default HTC 10 provisioning and IMEI check didn't fix it even when they tried it a second time, but they were able to adjust something and LTE definitely works now. VoLTE working here, too. Thanks!
