Hello everybody. I've been flashing a few ROMs lately since July, and there is so much stuff out there...I was just on Alpha Rom, now I'm trying out Tasker650 AOKP, and now I'm curious, what are the most customizable touchwiz and non touchwiz (cm/aokp/aosp) ROMs out here right now.? Thank you in advance for your input.

All you have to do is read the change log in the very first post. It'll tell you what's included in the ROM.

I have it all downloaded and waiting to be flashed just don't want any issues. I'm new to this phone but not her to flashing. Any issues that would make this a bad idea? Is it a asop ROM?

CM is a customized AOSP. so yes, more or less AOSP.
It's a preview, so it's going to have issues. whether or not it's a bad idea depends on your expectations. all you can do is give it a try.
I just installed it this afternoon. Love it! Haven't had much time to play around with it and figure out what doesn't work, but from what I can tell all of the daily functions of the ROM work. Again, it's still an alpha, so it's up to you to decide if it works well enough
Read the op of the thread. I'm not normally I guy who makes a comment like this. But he mentions the bugs right in the first or second post.

Just wondering if we have any themes being worked on for the bear future. We have plenty of roms but no themes to flash and show off! I hope someone is working on something Special

Hi, I'm in the very early stages of learning how to theme. It could take me a good month or two, but my hopes are that I can get 2 or 3 out there to flash on base TW roms.
I won't release anything until I'm truly satisfied though.
Instead of releasing themes on this phone it seems that many decided to package as a rom. Go back a few months in the Android development section if you want a taste of something different now. Wicked Sensations, Coalition Black, Venum Boa all come to mind as themes roms I have enjoyed in the past.
Really appreciate the feedback. I had a Galaxy S II with Tmobile as well as other androids and it seemed as if we were always getting new themes. That's why I asked.

We would have more themes if some of our "developers" would release flashable zips for the themes they are putting on the same old TouchWiz ROMs...

The real answer lies I think in the fact that we've only JUST NOW gotten our ICS build that will stick for a while. There was little motivation to make a theme when you have to update it every leak, which takes a lot of time. It really burns ya out. So now that we've leveled out I think we'll see some more. Or at least now I don't feel like I'll spend days on updating a theme only to find a new leak uploading as I'm creating the OP for my now outdated theme

Hey guys i have been flashing roms since the original epic but I know want to start making roms and becoming a dev but I heard that porting is more easy and then from there start to make my own rom can some point me in the right direction to porting but I don't wanna use a aosp cause I like touchwiz better

Then really porting might not be what your looking for, customizing it and cooking your own rom in your kitchen. There's a user on XDA @dreamsforgotten he's written some great threads and guides on all of it, maybe he can link you to those posts or you can search for them using his username to guide you. Also you can check in the http://xda-university.comXDA university threads.

Touchwiz is not an easy thing to tinker with.....plus it seems here that the majority of people don't care for it......so the demand for it is very low. In fact, there's only like 3 or so custom touchwiz jb roms...vs tonnes of aosp.

You cant port something without a base...we don't have a base for 4.2 touchwiz yet so we cant get s4 roms. Also like @kj2112 said its not easy....have you ever wondered why a touchwiz rom is 3 times larger than an aosp rom with gapps baked in?

Also....custom tw roms only have a few extra options usually....cause there is really only so much you can do with them.
Check out xposed. There's a lot you can customize with it. Just do a good nandroid first. Sometimes I find exposed can mess things up.

So I just got this phone and I really want to root it and start flashing some roms lol. I was looking through the development section and it didnt look like there were very many that were being kept up on. Can any one recommend one. I like cm11 based roms or roms with theme chooser.

This has been stated time and time again. It's all a matter of preference. Read the stickies, educate yourself on the matter, then pick what suits you best. One size does not fit all, and we don't know what size you are.
