can some help with installing htc evo diag drivers on windows 7 64 bit
please im going nuts lmao
Read the rooting instructions.
1) Install the Android SDK. There's drivers in the sdk/usbdrivers folder.
2) Install HTC Sync. It'll automatically install any other drivers you need.
Really, is it that hard to read?

You have to put the phone in diag mode (##diag#) and then use control panel to hand pick the drivers for it, for some reason it doesn't recognize them
Ok, I have the evo in ##3424# and on a 32-bit Win7 it works fine. When I try to install the drivers on a Win 64-bit machine it doesn't find any suitable driver.
Does anybody have the 64-bit DIAG drivers for Evo that work?

All I get is a "Android USB DEVICES" listing under device manager, umbrella-d under that is "My HTC." I can't install these drivers at all. Windows 7 64 bit here if that makes any difference. PLEASE HELP!?
Anyone know where to find Diag Drivers for window 7 64 bit computer not noticing the phone!!??
Make sure you've unzipped the files. This tripped me up for a second!
is it me only or HTC diag 64bit-win7 dont recognise in my computer...
same problem here to bro no go for me either i get the my htc under android devices thats it but it will not let me add the drivers and that means i can not use QXDM or QPST ??? PLEASE ADVISE thanks
Once you download the drivers create a new folder and rename it. Then extract the files from the zip to the folder you created then go to your managed devices and manually update hope this works for you

[Q] Win7+bootloader=no drivers

Can not in any way get windows 7 to acknowledge my defy in bootloader or USB debugging mode no matter what I try.
Have an old WinXP laptop that I do all my rooting needs on, but I would like to know why the heck the motorola drivers for win7 don´t recognize their own product?
Have recently uninstalled the motorola package and reinstalled, letting the computer restart sufficiently in between, but nothing...
It finds the s flash omap3630 by name, but no driver for it. I have even let it search through the entire windows folder for it but nooo... nooooo!
Annoying to say the least.
Plus the fact that it works like clockwork (!) on the XP computer tells me that there´s something terribly wrong with motos win7 coding attempts.
Well... I'll probably try this for another week or so then give up and stab myself in the heart with a used fork!
...unless anyone wants to chip in!

Which "Motorola package" did you install? You need the USB driver.
http://developer.motorola.com/docstools/USB_Drivers/
Works like a charm for me on Win 7.
Problem Solved:
Had to go into the computer's Device Manager, find the OMAP3630 device, choose update driver and then browse the computer manually.
Pointed it to
c:\Program Files\Common Files\Motorola Shared\Mobile Drivers\Drivers\
-Then it installed correctly in bootloader mode.
Whew... I searched the motorola log file to see where they installed to (the drivers) and finally I cracked this nut! (Takes a nut to crack a nut)
There go! If anyone else has problems with this then here's the solution!

Yep, that is one of the packages I tried... That and 4.8.0 and a whole bunch of others (uninstalling inbetween) but no driver for bootloader or USB debugging in windows 7.
I really had to find the install folder myself and point the omap device to that folder manually.
Why the hell do they leave the device drivers in a "Program Files" folder instead of a "Windows" folder (like the ones drivers are supposed to go)?
And why does the installatiion package work flawless for most people but not for some?
Anyway... I don't care at this point. Problem solved.
If you have this problem, search for the driver manually in the folder I specified above. Then it kicks in!

This Drivers are for Windows XP, tested and working - you can mount SDCard
is it working on win 7?
Haven't tried it, but it should work... the only thing that may not work is that the drivers are not signed....
Worst case... driver will fail to install due to signing issues...
Please try and update us if they work...
the same after using it
i got htc dream in device manager but i want to share data and internet between diamond and pc is it possible?
its working on xp..
This is for USB Mass storage, you need the modem part of the driver which i don't know anything about.
The drivers are modified from an HTC Dream android driver...
I don't think i can help you with this part yet... i will try and search the net and if we are lucky maybe we can get it working.
Thanks you!!!

I actually found this trying to get a driver for the USB tethering/modem/RNDIS part.
hyc has fixed USB tethering, but of course WinXP doesn't have the right driver - or the phone isn't presenting itself correctly...
This Google page seems to think with a simple INF file it's fixed (NOTE - if you're on SP3!) but this seems to work for native devices only...

LTE Nexus Waiting for Device error

I'm going crazy here. I'm good with all this type of stuff but nothing is working. I want to return my phone to stock so I can exchange it for a new one at verizon. I keep getting the waiting for device error in fastboot. I had this problem a lot with trying to unlock it too. I'm not sure how I ever got it to work. I've downloaded and installed the drivers multiple times and still nothing. Can someone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong please?
I'm using windows 7 64bit. The drivers aren't right in device manager.
The drivers are fishy in windows 7 64bit. Download PDA net to your computer. It will install drivers correctly. Sounds weird but it works.

I've certainly noticed that they are pretty messed up on Windows 7. Unfortunately I've already done that and it still doesn't work.
Reboot your computer and plug the phone in and let the drivers try to install automatically, worked for me.
So I installed the driver a different way and it worked fine this time. I'm not really sure why I never tried that way before or why that way worked differently but it did! Thanks for the suggestions.
In what way did you install it? I'm having the same problem and it would be nice for search purposes.
i had issues with drivers on win7 64x, first, it would take for ever once the phone was plugged in, for windows to initially auto-install the drivers (after installing the ones from samsung)....a very long time. but, even after 3/4 of it installed correctly, i hadn't noticed that the Android 1.0 drivers didn't install at all. If you goto control panel->system->device manager, see if there is an alert next to 'Android', if so, open it, choose to manually install the drivers, but don't select a location on your hd, use the list of available drivers already on the computer, find 'samsung', and select the drivers that come up (again, had to download samsung drivers from their site and install that First)
this fixed the issue for me. and nothing like a good ol' reboot too to fix random windows issues : )

Is there a fix for the MCP connection fail thing?

Hi,
I'm having some issues where the MTP driver fails to load. Tried all the obvious stuff and did a lot of reading of forums and stuff but can't find a fix. Could anyone help me to fix it please?
Here's what hardware I have and what I've tried so far:
Tab Pro 8.4 16gb wifi UK model, rooted.
Connected via cable to Dell XPS 17, latest USB drivers installed, win 7 x64.
First of all, I enabled USB debugging and windows installed drivers for all except MTP.
Tried installing the Samsung driver package, same problem. Uninstalled at present.
Installed kies, didn't work, wouldn't even connect to the device. Uninstalled.
Followed the instructions on the wiki but the suite software installs the driver succesfully but then windows won't accept the driver. Tried the workarounds in the wiki but still no luck.
Tried rebooting the tablet and leaving the cable connected.
Tried wiping the cache.
Tried restarting both the tablet and laptop after reinstalling software and drivers, still no luck.
Found several workarounds on my travels, one was a command line for windows to add to usergroup ( it's on the laptop downstairs, will add it to the post tomorrow).
One post said to change a registry entry...really? Tried that, and another registry trick, but still no.
Using the same laptop, I had similar problems trying to flash a custom rom onto an s4, but the CM installer worked first time. I've done a fresh install of win 7 since then.
Can anyone shed any light on this for me please? Is there any kind of workaround? Running out of ideas!
Thanks
Fixed this, well, kind of. Here's a quick rundown of what I did, for people like me who are struggling with connection problems.
I thought I had tried everything, was going to dump the whole thing and then remembered that I'd fixed some previous USB problems (sound card) by doing a clean boot.
First, remove Kies.
The only other thing that is required are the samsung mobile drivers from their website. I tried with and without and this would only work with them installed.
Restart your tablet, make sure MTP is selected.
You can find out how to do a clean boot for you version of windows here.
Leave your device connected via USB cable. Once you have clean booted into windows, windows will attempt to install the drivers from windows update, let it do this. It can take a minute or two to complete. You should then see a green tick in the notification area rather than the dreaded red cross.
If, for some reason, the driver doesn't install first time, you can unplug and then plug back in the USB cable and this should do the trick.
What I did find, is that the connection wasn't consistent, I could restart either my laptop or tablet and then it wouldn't connect, so I'd have to go through the above process again to get it to connect.
Doing this allowed me to flash the Clockworkmod recovery with odin 3.09, but for whatever reason, I was still unable to use the recommended Eimdall suite to flash cyanogenmod.
In the end, I downloaded the CM11 zip file to my tablet (via http) and then used ES file manager to move it to the SDCard root and then clockworkmod picked it up from there.
Also, once CM was installed, there were no connection problems at all, as far as I can see.
Hopefully this will help others in the same predicament.
