[REQ] NFL Mobile with working live gameday audio - Nexus 7 Themes and Apps

Is there an apk or modified version of Verizon's NFL Mobile app that allows you to listen to live gameday audio of every game for non-Verizon devices? I have a Verizon phone but when I extracted the apk and installed on my Nexus 7, it seemed to install the non-Verizon version and I don't have all the features that I do on my phone (like live gameday audio. Tablet version requires that I have NFL Audio Pass subscription but my Verizon phone does not require that since I pay the $5 a month for Verizon NFL Mobile). Latest app version is 8.2.3 on phone. Any ideas?

anyone have any info on this whatsoever?

Upgrading to WP7 Issues

I have a Dash 3G running win 6.5 with over 100 great apps, CHome, sliding panels, GPS, SPB TV, Core Player, Wunder Radio, MIRC chat, etc etc etc. I have months of time into it and everything works well. Along comes WP7 and the HTC Surround which I am getting Monday morning at a very reasonable $200. AT&T charges monthly fees for their “premium” apps which puts them out of my reach. Bing maps probably is a subscription and google maps is not installed. I mostly use WiFi at home and do not have a data plan. AT&T requires a minimum $15 data plan that allows 200 megs per month so I may be be able to get my emails and listen to streaming radio if a third party app becomes available. I plan to hold onto the Dash 3G for a while. I am wondering if developers will work on porting their apps to WP7 so I don’t have to pay those monthly fees and I can get back the functionality I have on my Dash. I am not sure if WP7 will be able to transfer my movies onto the new phone. The HTC Surround is faster, nice big screen, new capabilities. We all have the jitters when upgrading….we put in a lot of customization and get used to the way our toys work and then the process repeats so it can be a bit unnerving when letting go. There must be other members here with the same concerns?

I thought Zune comes with streaming, no?
As far as I know bing maps like google maps are subscription free services.
As for all your other WinMo apps, you either have to dash them with your Dash or wait and see if there is an emulator for WinMo 6.5 apps available in the near future - I am hearing "the near future" is a trend word of WP7.
Hey,
I don't know about any of the other issues you face, I came from Android (before that I came from Windows Mobile which was absolute **** imo). But for the video, yes you can play video and by the looks of it you can play ANY kind of video on the phone.
I say any, because the only way to put video on the phone is through zune and zune will convert the video before syncing it, so the phone itself might not support (for example) .mkv but zune will just convert that to whatever format is supported before syncing it to the phone.
Streaming
That is useful info. I played with a Zune once but it was an early model and it was useless. Guess they improved on it. The AT&T Navigator which uses Bing is a subscription based app...so you have to pay AT&T for it if you want to use it even if you are using your own WiFi connection for streaming. Same thing goes for the the Zune apps maybe. I'll know more tomorrow when I get my hands on the phone. I would probably prefer to have the HD7 but AT&T does not have it and T-Mobile requires their $30 data plan for unlimited web access.....its a good deal, but still expensive if you total up the yearly cost. Also we are getting version 1.0 of WP7...there's a lot missing like multitaking, copy and paste, skinning etc...so hopefully the rom updates will be available to all when they are released. Upgrading the phone when new models become available could be an issue since right now they are asking $800 for unlocked WP7 phones. The reviews on all of the WP7 phones vary greatly. Some love it, some hate it, some are thoughtful, some of the reviewers are incompetent. But I get a good overall feeling about the OS.
i doubt it will be ROM updates so much. Also, i don't think you need to use AT&T Navigator. I have a HTC Trophy, and quite a few of my contacts, i've put their address there so it's easy for me (this was because i had tomtom on my wm6.5, and could do navigate to contact), and in windows phone 7 it works just as well. i view the contact, click on view address, and it comes up with bing map of it. then i can do get directions.
at the moment it doesn't have turn by turn navigation live, but it does show directions which is good enough considering version 1. Though i would like to see this come in the next update, or at least the update after.
All carrier custom apps can be uninstalled from the device.. AT&T navigator is a pay service, bing maps is free. AT&T Navigator (and TeleNav on T-mobile) offer turn by turn.. but they cost $15/mo or thereabouts..
To stream music w/ Zune you need to have a Zune Pass, which is $15/mo but you get to buy and keep 10 songs per month as part of that deal.
Slacker radio is free internet radio and is pre-loaded onto the device as well.. so there's that option for interested parties.
Here's a short list of subscription based services that are available out of the box on WP7 -
1. Netflix $9/mo (?)
2. Zune pass $15/mo
3. AT&T Navigator/TeleNav $15/mo (?)
4. AT&T U-Verse Mobile/T-Mobile TV $10/mo
Hope this clears things up a bit..
info
Yes thanks again for the info...that clears some of it up. I guess this means that WP7 is open for installing 3rd party apps which means I don't have to use AT&T apps and that is very good news. Most of the internet TV apps are just front end links to streaming stations most of which you can probably open in Internet Explorer. I have heard no mention of Windows Media Player. I am not interested in streaming music, just playing what I already have. The free streaming radio app will be fine if there are enough stations...like talk radio and BBC. It will be interesting to see what apps will be offered for free in the marketplace and what 3rd party apps will become available.

[Q] Tmobile specific version of the market app?

I recently noticed that Tmobile is advertising the option of billing google market content purchases to a users mobile bill. Although I don't really want to do that, it did make me curious as to how it works. Trying to get it to work led me to a question... is there a tmobile specific version of the google market apk?
I am running cyanogen 7 with google market 3.3.11 and I definitely can not see an option to bill a market purchase to my tmobile bill. I only see the options to add to a credit card.
I found this screenshot of google market which shows the tmobile payment option: http://cdn.androidtapp.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/T-Mobile-Carrier-Billing-in-Android-Market.jpg My payment screen looks a lot like that, minus the tmobile options.
If there is a specific tmobile version of the market, If so, how often does that get updated versus the generic version?
I don't actually think that it is a different app, just a different payment method available on some carriers:
http://androidcommunity.com/att-direct-carrier-billing-now-available-in-the-android-market-20101222/
That's the question, how does the app know to present the user with the different payment methods? I am on the tmobile network, but the market app seems completely unaware of that.
Your gmail account is synced with the Market, and so is your telephone number. Hence the connection to your T-Mobile account. If you are on a contract and not behind on your payments, you can theoretically bill an app to your monthly statement. This has been option for a long time now. And no, there is no T-Mobile specific Market.

Your SIM has a lot to do with it as well. I believe the Market can tell which SIM card you are using, bringing up that Network's options.

I haven't seen this on my market yet. Looks interesting.

I'm asking me the same question some days before so I went to our T-Mobile Partner in the City. He told me, that I only can pay Apps with my T-Mobile bill, when I have a branded Device, because they modified the Android Market!
i can verify that this option was there since february. And it has worked on all my roms, but they have always been modded htc roms like glite...so dunno maybe it has more to do with the rom.

[Q] PlayStation.pocket - "This service is not available in your country/region"- FIX?

[Q] PlayStation.pocket - "This service is not available in your country/region"- FIX?
Hey all. I'm an American that is currently in Uganda, Africa handling some business. I'll be here for a number of months and I ordered a contract-free Xperia Play 4G (r800at) from AT&T and SIM-unlocked it through AT&T customer service for use with the "Orange" network. Then I unlocked the bootloader and reflashed it with the North American generic 4.0.2.A.0.42, and afterwards I rooted it. So that's where I stand currently.
Anyway, the phone works fine on the Orange network for SMS and voice, and we also have a WiFi network where I am staying. I connect to the WiFi for Market downloads, Facebook browsing, etc.
So I want to get on the PlayStation pocket store and download some games to play (it only has Crash Bandicoot through PSP), but when I try to connect to it, I receive the error message in the title.
Seeing as how I have an unlocked and rooted phone, is there any way to spoof my location to make it think I'm in the US or some other region which allows the store? If not, can one of you awesome individuals consider it a daunting challenge and try to find a solution? OR, does anyone know of a website where I can download games via the PC and then somehow get them on my XP4G? Please get back to me. I've downloaded a number of games from the market but I'm in the mood for some actual PlayStation titles, which is why I got the phone.
I have the same problem here in Brazil. I was able to overpass the download limit through apk downloader. It basically allows you to download apps through your computer, overruling the country limitations.
It worked for me with Last FM and Google Music. Unfortunately, eeven after downloading the apps, I'm still not able to use both since they have service limitations.
Hope it works better for you!

Cricket users again

I have a mod for cricket users who used a donor phone to activate service. I have been able to get muve music to work with any sdcard (muve cards are 4gig, 1gig for user and 3gig for music) on any phone.
Requirements for mod
1. User must have used a donor cricket android phone (on muve music)
2. Phone must be rooted
I have done this with a kyocera torque that I flashed myself. The original phone was a cheap cricket android phone that had muve music. I used it as a donor (esn swap) to flash the torque. While you can easily add in all the cricket apps (bloat) muve music is different.
To have muve music you had to be on a muve plan, use a muve enabled phone, and use the very restrictive muve music sdcard. Then cricket got the Samsung S4 which opened up lots of things. Number 1 being the updated muve app that no longer requires a special sdcard. So now you can mod your build.prop to reflect a cricket S4 (even if you are not on a samsung device) and download the muve music app from Play Store. Now you have your favorite high end device and still have your music.
So I will do a full step by step if there is any interest.

I purchased a Fire Phone, but is it for me? Cyanogenmod vs Slimkat vs OEM? Thanks!

Hello all!
I purchased the Fire Phone (32GB) two months ago when there was the liquidation sale to get rid of the stock, and I jumped on one! For the value, even at the $120 or so I paid for it (not including the free Prime membership), there aren't any (if at all) phones with a Snapdragon 800, 2GB RAM and not gigantic (looking for a phone that's 4.5" to 4.7"). After unboxing it, and playing around for a few minutes, I put it back and haven't touched it since.
I was hoping there would be more ROM development. I've used Cyanogenmod in the past and loved it (previously had Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 all with Cyanogenmod), but I don't think the experience would be the same on the Fire Phone since Cyanogenmod is not officially supported. I read about the camera issues (somewhat important to me) and would hate to jump into flashing a ROM that has so many problems. I use Google Wallet/NFC from time-to-time as well. Finally, I want to use Tasker, and although I already purchased the app in the Google Play store, I want to be able to use it on my Fire Phone and would have to repurchase it, but I need features that require root access (do I have root access or can I easily root it?).
The apps I mostly use are: Viber, Whatsapp, Chrome, Snapchat, Instagram, Tasker, Instwogram, Google Maps (absolutely necessary as I drive quite a bit), Gmail, Google Drive/Sheets/Docs, Flashlight (wish it were a built-in widget like it was in Cyanogenmod), and Twitter. I don't mind keeping the Fire OS if all the above apps work flawlessly. I could care less about the Fire OS theme, because most of my usage is within other apps which I'd assume are identical between the Google Play store and Amazon Fire Store. With that being said, would I have any issues with any of the above apps? Do I even need Cyanogenmod or SlimKat? Would be experience be better with either of the latter ROMs instead?
Finally, does anyone know if hot spotting is allowed? I have Cricket and my Cricket-branded 1st gen Moto G LTE does not allow hotspotting. I know the Cyanogenmod allowed it. I don't expect to do it often, however, it is nice to have that feature. Does anyone know if the non-carrier branded model directly from the Amazon store allows hotspotting?
Thanks for reading!

Based on the apps you're using, you should stick with Fire OS. The custom ROMs can't reach their full potential, because some of the important sources are not available (Camera HAL, NFC).
Therefore, in-app camera usage is a bigger issue:
Snapchat users are basically forced to use Casper as a replacement, because this app is able to access the camera without freezing / stopping.
WhatsApp Web also doesn't work because you won't be able to scan the QR code and lastly: no Fire OS = no NFC.
Periscope and Twitch streaming does not work on the Fire Phone, for now...
You could start with using an alternative Launcher like Nova (+ Tesla UnRead) or Google Now.
The 4.6.3 version and the latest AT&T version (4.6.5) of Fire OS support Google Play services.
You can root the device with Kingroot and replace it with Super-Su afterwards.
Twitch only works if you use the Amazon store version; I don't think the Play store version works still.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I just updated my Fire Phone and waiting for the final update (GSM - 4.6.3). Let's say if I wanted to update it to the AT&T version of 4.6.5, would I just download the image from Amazon, and drag and drop it into Internal Storage as they're stating on the site? I have Cricket, and while it runs on AT&T's network, I don't want the typical AT&T bloatware. Would it be advantageous for me and my app uses to update to AT&T 4.6.5? I'm sure I'll probably lose hotspotting (that is if I even have it now). Do you think it might be a better idea to hold off, and wait for the 4.6.5 GSM update (if ever), or dare I say Fire OS 5 update?
Thanks again!

I went from 4.6.4 AT&T to 4.6.3 rooted. When I made the move I didn't do a factory reset. I noticed last weekend the phone was trying to connect to an attwifi network in the area. It was never able to connect. And, interestingly enough, I was not able to prevent it from trying to connect unless I disabled the wifi. I use StraightTalk (on AT&T's network).
I've recently started having issues with the GPS so I moved to 4.6.5 unrooted (using adb sideload) so that I could contact Amazon for help. I don't really see any differences between 4.6.3 and 4.6.5 except for the MyAT&T app, an AT&T Wifi app (which doesn't have a launcher icon), and the single APN setting for AT&T (IIRC 4.6.3 had APN settings for other networks).
Once I'm done dealing with Amazon's tech support and the GPS issue is resolved (or I get a new phone). I plan to go back to 4.6.3, factory reset, and root. 4.6.3 was working well for me, and I'm hoping the factory reset wipes the attwifi crap.
Thanks so much for your input! I just got some reassurance that 4.6.3 (GSM) is for me. I was second guessing myself as I was installing and reconfiguring all my Google Store apps last night if this was the right decision or if I'd have to do this all over again if I switched to 4.6.5 (AT&T).
I pay for additional data, but I don't have Hotspot in my Cricket Plan. I see that I have the option to create a WiFi Hotspot with my phone. If I use it occasionally (very occasionally, maybe when my home internet goes down or I'm travelling), will I be charged for it automatically? Or can they not tell the difference without major digging?
Thanks again!
From my experience with Cricket, they only control the Hotspot feature when you use a Cricket branded phone. So for instance, my Nexus 5 and my wife's Fire phone both can use Hotspot, but on my kid's Cricket Moto E, Hotspot does not work because we don;t pay extra for it.
I'm sure there are rules about not using it, but I do quite frequently, and I've not had any problems or warnings.
Using the amazon os and loading google play onto my 4.6.3, everything in the google play store has worked flawlessly. Any of the launcher works great ( i personally use smart launcher ), and google syncing stuff like games work perfectly. Once u have the play store you can grab google maps and it works great as well.
Using Tmobile my hotspot works without any need for modding settings nor any changing of any plans specifically for hotspot ( which is great i dont know how long i dont have to pay extra for wifi tethering for though ), and as im on the 10gb plan it comes int great when i want to do homework with the laptop where there isnt fast wifi.
My snapchat finally has the face filters too, something even pure google phones dont have yet! I am extremely happy with how this phone works out as the next closest thing in performance is a 250 dollar motoG 2015 or one plus X
I have cricket and I'm able to hot spot (4.6.3 rooted with sideloaded google services). There's a flashlight icon available as part of the notification panel (swipe down from the top), so I use that instead of a widget.

Hi. Sorry for a dumb question. My daughter has this phone and it's all messed up. Won't open apps, won't always send texts (hangs and says sending). Got a new SIM yesterday and same thing.
Where do I get 4.6.3 so I can reflash it and are there instructions anywhere?
Thanks!
