[Q] Rooting with a mac possible? - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

Hi community,
I've got a UK Note 8 and since the 4.2.2 update i'm experiencing the slightly off spen input (horizontal lines only). I've seen that there are Kernels and ROMs available to correct this but I have a macbook pro and all of the tools on the Note 8 section are installed on a PC. Is there any methods that will let me root via my mac? I gather once im rooted i can download a rom to the SD card and flash from there, please correct me if im talking gibberish.
Thanks for any help

[Q] Mac OSX Root?

Hey guys. Just got my Galaxy Note II on Verizon and i'm loving it but I want to get rid of the bloatware and an app so I can use NFC properly but I can't find a root method for Mac OSX. I've got virtual box running but for some reason i can't get it to mount my phone properly.
Any help with that would be much appreciated. Thanks.
First Zoff first of all go to verizon forum.
I think you'd have to flash a file which requires odin.
You can flash that via heimdall.

[Q] How to "Re-Root" T-Mobile Note 2 4.3 with Mac OSX

I rooted my Tmo Note 2 about 6 months ago. This was the first device I have ever rooted, and I loved everything about it. When I updated to 4.3 yesterday, I obviously lost root. I am wondering how I can root my Tmo Note 2 which is now running 4.3. I have a mac, and heimdall, but I don't know what files and steps I need to take to root my device once again. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I have read through a ton of different threads, but still have not had any luck. I am in desperate need of a solution (besides buying a pc just to root my note 2 via Odin). I need my root back!

[Q] GT-N5100 Italian 3g - to root or not to root

Hello fellow androidians
I am here because I desperately need to play Baldurs Gate on my Note 8 but Kies won't update my device - as far as I can understand, the Italian model is not exactly looked after and it's still running 4.1.2. So I won't be able to move stuff to the sd card for a while.
I have a few questions regarding this issue:
Can I safely root it?
And if I root it I can still use the base android or am I to flash a custom rom?
I would like to keep S Note which I use a lot, so any suggestion here is highly appreciated.
Will rooting mean loosing all the stuff I have in my galleries or will it be possible to root without a backup?
After years of Android use I collected a lot of memorabilia, which position and time of download is very precious to me. Call me ocd and you won't be wrong.
In case I will go for the root, will the tips provided here work on my model baseband version N5100XXBMC8?
I would be much happier if I had the possibility of updating to kit kat straight away, but this seems unlikely
How silly of me thinking Italian carriers would update my little treasure!
Normally you will not loose any data when you root your device. Base will not change. No need to flash a Custom Rom. So root your origunal 4.1.2 and finished.

[q] root on p5210 with new kitkat 4.4.2 ? =/

I have updated our tablet with the official firmware Kitkat launched by Samsung a few weeks ago, but in doing so I lost all access to root previously owned by me .... I searched and searched some form or method of reinstall root in our tablet and even I tried to do with the "old" root file from Jelly Bean .... So the question is: can anyone help me to get root on my device? Thanks I expect a prompt response ...
Your prompt response is as follows;
