I'm used to using Swype keyboard with Android but found it doesn't really work with a larger screen. Your finger travels to far and even if you switch the keyboard to a miniature one it's still in the middle of the screen, I like using Swype holding my phone in one hand and using the thumb of that hand to write.
Maybe the stock keyboard is the best.
Has anyone tried an external keyboard? e.g. Anker Ultra Slim Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard
I use this one.
Love all the customization.

Try thumb keyboard. I use it with my tab 3 7.0 and love it.

I use "Hackers Keyboard" because i use my tab as ssh client a lot.
Just the Samsung stock keyboard. It has a Swype mode built in, too.

I currently use Ultra Keyboard which I purchased. Unfortunately, there are a few quirks I've been having with it that i can no longer put up with.
One is that while filling out forms, the pop-up window with the suggested words often cover up the input box I'm working in. That's annoying. But the really big no-no for a virtual keyboard is that while I'm editing a document and I happen to look up and notice.that two characters i just typed overwrote a whole paragraph way up in the top of my document somewhere! It's unexplainable. And where is the undo? There isn't one.as far as I can see. So can anyone make.any recommendations.for.me? I find i use the arrow keys in Ultra Keyboard a lot. Is it the only program that has them?

+1 on Swiftkey
I'm a firm supporter of thumb keyboard, I especially love the layout for landscape. Very intuitive.
I have been a huge fan of Thumb Keyboard for quite some time now. Its a paid app, but worth every frikin penny! I have it on my thunderbolt and my A100!
ummmmm............ could you repeat that?
I love Thumb Keyboard, but keep getting these annoying "instantaneous double presses" that I didn't get with Thumb KB on my Transformer. Anyone else know what I'm talking about?
I wish there was a way to set a delay for repeating the same button (tell they KB to ignore any same-key keypresses within a tenth of a second of each other). I also find the suggestions/auto correct not NEARLY as helpful/aggressive as SwiftKey X. If I could get SwiftKey X's software/autocorrect with Thumb Keyboard's layout, I'd be a happy camper.
Yea, that's happens to me too, but I figured out that if you type at lightening speed, you get double taps on letters, if you slow down just enough that your fingers are nowhere near the screen between touches, no double taps!
ummmmm............ could you repeat that?

Another +1 for Thumb Keyboard. Perfect for the 7" form factor in portrait, and a great layout for landscape.
I tried Swiftkey X but just couldn't get into it.

I tried using Swiftkey X on my Acer Iconia A100 running HC (had been using this one on my old Froyo tab). But I found that in the Market search window, the characters I typed were transparent or white. I couldn't see what I was keying. So I installed Hackers and have had no issues at all.
Go Keyboard + Go Keyboard Pad plugin
Hey guys,
yesterday i got my phone well, i used HTC_IME keyboard for nearly two years on my X10 before and i wanted to use it again...i installed it and there was a problem. i took the high resolution-keyboard, but it still is too small for the phones resolution, so the keyboard is very small in the left corner
does anyone have an idea, how to solve the problem?
or are there any information about something like HTC_IME_HD ?
Maybe try the keyboard for the Rezound. Since it too has a 720p screen it may work for you.
hm, i can't find a download-possibility...wether on xda, nor on google...do you know sth?
You can buy Smart Keyboard Pro on the Market. With the right settings itcan mimic the HTC IME perfectly, has a skin with HTC look and can do evem more with a wide variety of settings. I use to miss HTC IME when I switched to the Nexus One 2 years ago, but this keyboard hasn't left me since...

The style doesn't really care, i need a T9-Board with German-Dictionary and...T9^^. Push one button for one letter
*edit* bought it, happy with it thanks
Thumb Keyboard, Smart Keyboard, and SwiftKey X all support the higher resolutions.
I use Thumb Keyboard on my Asus Transformer. I understand the HTC_IME is unique. Perhaps try the Rezound forums and see if anyone will post it.

That was my keyboard of choice, up until the ICS keyboard. Its more accurate than ever, keeps up with my keystrokes and had the best auto correct/ word prediction

I've been using it since HTC_IME got buggy on my SGS2. Well worth the money.
I bought Smart KB Pro and still using HTC-IME (not on Nexus) because its better in prediction. You cant just use KB from another Sense device, it needs to be ported
Hi does anybody know if there is a good t9 keyboard available from the market and not super keyboard pro which i think is crap i just dont like the keyboard on the nexus its not a patch on the HTC sensation I had previously. I have tried super keyboard pro etc and I hate it. I dont like the word prompts at the top of the page etc and its slow and also terrible when you turn t9 off its fiddly to use. I have tried everything....
Swiftkey X is my favourite keyboard, but there are plenty of options.
T9? or just any Keyboard? Swype Beta is available for the GN now, so you could try that one out.
I use Even Better NumberPad Keyboard or Perfect Keyboard. Both give me a nice t9 experience. I'm not exactly a qwerty guy

Using the OUYA's default keyboard with the touchpad is an aweful pain. I was wondering if there is a keyboard out there that plays well with the controller (D-Pad especially). I was able to install Google's Keyboard but it is not really better than the default one. Anyone found an alternative ?
Blue Board
Sent from my GT-P3113 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Ditto for blueboard.
is that the only one that works well for it or possibly the only one that works at current? swift keyboard?
Blue Board is an app that you put on your OUYA, and on your phone or tablet. Once you parent connect them, whatever you type on your phone or tablet pops up on your OUYA.
Blasted from my Samsung Galaxy SIII (CM10.1 Masta Mix).
Thanks !
Thanks for blueboard. Anyone has another option that does not require to switch to a tablet or phone ?
You'll never find a good option while using the controller, your best bet is to use a phone like otheres have said, or bt keyboard I suppose.
I have a couple questions reguarding this though. Does blueboard also have touch pad function? I used droidmote on my mk802 and it was great, it had keyboard, mouse, directional, media controls, even a touch gamepad mode. Has anyone tried this on ouya yet?

Yes but it does not work yet.
I was just wondering how one can scroll up or down on the page using the trackpad of the keyboard cover for the samsung galaxy tab S2 9.7"?
Thank you.
Mhhh i wondering ay you. Got the original Samsung Book Cover also with keyboard. And it seems like, the pad features no gestured at all. No Zoom,by spread to fingers, and more. But why? A mouse pad 2015 should do this, specially for Android.
I use the directional buttons to scroll, but on chrome and facebook, that won't work,so i have to use fingers on the screen, what i don't want to,that's why using a keyboard and mousepad........anyone got a solution ...... (not "using a bluetooth mouse",i have, but that's not acceptable, like using a second keyboard, cause space bar won't working)

Well, I checked with Samsung Canada and asked them the same question. They said that the trackpad cannot be used to scroll up or down a page---it doesn't have that feature.

That's really ridiculous considering the price of 160€. I will get one of these for free, there was a special offer in Germany. Otherwise I had not ordered this one but a simple Bluetooth keyboard for 20€.
Edit:
Got mine today and it's well manufactured. You can easily remove the keyboard from the cover, it's connected with strong magnets.
But the trackpad is only single touch, so you can't scroll or perform any gestures with this trackpad. If it were a multitouch touchpad it were awesome but singletouch is a major disadvantage and I would return it if I didn't get it for free from Samsung.
The S mouse is more useful. ..I have it for my device and it has the toggle thing on it to scroll up and down...I'm glad I purchased it and the Logitech type s keyboard...perfect setup

That's what ended up happening to me. I was searching for a way to make the trackpad scroll but gave up and used the S Mouse instead, since I already had it from my Tab S days. I like the mouse better anyway.
I could swear that the scrolling and two finger tapping was working before the marshmallow update and I was really happy with it. But does not seem to be working anymore after the update..

The touch pad never had multi touch support
It's quite atrocious what Samsung have done with this touchpad. The keyboard-case accessory could have easily been perfect if the touchpad supported multitouch, or even just a way to easily scroll & zoom. Instead they settled for an official accessory that is subpar.
In case nobody realized, you can double-tap & hold, which counts as tapping & holding, & drag the mouse to scroll, albeit with hardly any accuracy.
How to scroll with touchpad
You can scroll with two fingers on touchpad on Android. I'm doing it right now on my Android 9.0 with a bluetooth keyboard.
How to? Press your right finger on the touchpad right cuadrant/zone and keep it still, then move up or down the left finger on the left cuadrant (or the reverse left-right). With "cuadrant" I mean an aproximate space on the left or right.
One finger frozen on one side and the other slide up or down on the opposite side of the touchpad.
