I have been using this cyanogenmod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1861623 for a looong time, it's perfect but the microphone records at a very low volume, I have searched the forums but couldn't find anything, this also effects recording videos etc.
I have tried two programs that actually worked (only for recording audio) first one is asr mp3 recorder (by nll) second one is the smart voice recorder (by andrey kovalev), what they do is they disable agc and I was able to increase microphone gain, but I need to increase the gain for calls that are being made as the person I am talking to can't hear me (very low volume), is there anything I can do to change gain multiplier or disable agc completely? maybe writing some things to terminal to override these values or installing some software?
thanks in advance.

Hi, I use some call recording program I think from HTC but when I record the call only my voice is clear but the others side is too low
so what the best program I can use?
sorry for my English.
There is no difference in the program that can do this. Your mic simply records what it hears. Turn on the speaker phone during conversation. I think that is the best thing to do.
tips i have on this
- turn OFF mic auto gain controll in controll panel
- use speaker if possible
- use audionotes(very best call rec program by far)
I found no software which is really good but if you can this is what i did - plug your x1 into your digital in socket in the pc using a male to male 3.5mm cable - then use Audacity to record - i did this and even my voice was picked up and since it is coming in through the digital input no quality is lost - worked for me because i found that any software was not very good quality
Resco Audio Recorder + Speaker phone is perfect conversation quality.

Hi Mini-Users,
as it is THE most important possibility to me allow me one question:
Has anybody has a running, high-quality-2way-callRecording running on the new mini-device?
either in combination with vito audio, resco or another application?
Thxs for answering,
Regards
2-way recording
It is a known issue with some HTC phones that the voice of the other party is not very loud. But at least you can record a phone conversation with all of these phones (HD2 etc.) With the HTC Mini recording is meanwhile impossible. I have tried several programs (Vito etc.) In a conversation both parties are recorded. Quality is not so bad. But there is one big problem. As soon as you have activated the recording the other party can not hear you any more although both voices are recorded properly. Obviousely HTC has found a new way to block recording of a 2-way conversation. Maybe somebody will find a solution.
hi
i use acr for recording and the other voice is prettylow but if u change the settings to wav the quality is good but takes a lot of space
Audio Notes touch works properly on HD Mini
I have also tried Audio Notes, but I have the same problems with my Mini. The first seconds during a phone call everything is ok but then the other party can not hear me anymore. I have also activated the native call recording function in the registry (allow inCallRecording etc.) - the problem still remains.
i'm using ACR on my mini.
it can record both sides, but you can hardly hear the other side (in the recording) if you are in a noisy background
Hello, i suspect there is a volume limitation (there always is due to european legislation).
Is there a tweak to increase the volume (of the speaker, and also earphones)?
I do not use it to play music out loud (i hate those doing it) but sometimes i miss some calls when in a noisy/crowded place, even with the vibrate and the "increase when in pocket" option. My remedy for now is to increase the gain of an audio mp3 with Audacity, and set it as a rigtone (i put it in /ringtones/ on the sdcard) it works but with a lot of distorsion...
EDIT: HTC Dz on Virtuous 1.0.1
EDIT 2: moved to the Q&A section

Hi guys,
I know that I think that this question/issue is well-known for some LOS users, but not really sure if it was fixed on some devices, or some ROM builds.
My problem is regarding to the low volume, although I could increase the volume by playing with the dB gain feature on some apps; but more remarkable is the poor sound quality while recording audio using the internal mic (mainboard). And if I use headphones (with mic) the recorded audio sounds perfect.
I read somewhere that could be related to the 'Active Audio Cancellation' feature on some devices, allowing to reduce the environment noise to talk better. But, if it's what happends, makes the app to record the audio in such a way that it can not be heard correctly due to the "cuts" that occur continuously.
I though in checking:
· system/etc/audio_platform_info.xml
· system/etc/audio_effects.conf
· system/etc/media_profiles.xml
· system/etc/mixer_paths.xml
. . . but not sure if will fix something, and what to look for exactly.
Thanks
It's nice to filter all but human voice sometimes, but, there are times when I want to record music, ambient sound, etc. and the filter just crushes to silence all sound below some dB level. That means all fine details in recordings that are not that loud are just lost in the final recording due to the aggressive filtering.
It appears to be enabled system-wide: Video recording, Voice Recording (Even with the built-in LG audio recorder app), Whatsapp voice notes, etc.
The only way I have achieved to bypass it was with the "RecForge II Pro" app, with the next settings:
Audio Record: 44kHz. Stereo(Native) 128kbps
Source: Front Microphone.
Disable AGC: Not marked. (If marked: the recording is in REAL stereo, but filtered as mentioned above, so is just like the recordings from the LG app).
Even with this, the recording is just "Duplicating" the bottom mic signal to both channels (R, L). I cannot manage to get real stereo without that filtering.
It bothers me sometimes when recording videos os stereo audio recordings, because it has a pretty good camera and good quality built-in mics, but it gets compromised with that audio filtering issue. Let me know if you know about some solution for this problem.
Thanks for your time.
Use HD voice recorder app by LG. Or use manual video from camera settings, enable Hi-fi audio and click on Hi-fi when you shoot video.
