Hi All!
I got root on my Desire via unrevoked but I did not install any custom ROM, I am using my stock ROM with root permissions.
Guys will I be able to do the official OTA update from HTC for froyo ? do I have to go back to stock rom to do this or will I be able to upgrade without any issue?
Thanks to all...
I'm in the exact same situation as you are and I'm hopeful that we will receive, normally, the OTA update.
I can't think of any reason why NOT to get the OTA update, as rooting can't interfere with updates (hope so).
it is possible to do OTA after root, but it could be impossible to root after OTA
Hi all,
first sorry for my english which is not very good at all...
I rooted my GN2 to restore all my app on it but as you know this method not allowed update by OTA or kies. I don't matter about the flash counter but I want OTA because for example today there is an update in France for having the multiscreen capability and I can't have it.
Is there a possibility to restore the original recovery and if I do that should I have access to the OTA ? Should I keep the root ?
If it is possible please can you explain me how to do that step by step and can you give me the good files ?
Great thanks from a noob...

I wanted to install it, but get this error:

I have the same issue. This is because you have the firmware for other regions. I like taiwan version and I can not find the drain firmware.
Hello,
I need to know if to make root i have to unlock bootloader?
It´s possible root only?
Another question I have is if I can do the OTA updates after making root and change the recovery for TWRP?
Is there a root method able to do unroot for OTA updates?
Thanks!!
As far as I know, unlocked bootloader doesn't stop the phone from receiving and installing MIUI OTA updates. But how about root ? Will I still be able to recive OTAs and install them automatically when i"m rooted + magisk installed + system apps untouched + stock recovery ?
Will magisk and root be able to survive OTA updates ?
No it may end in a bootloop
Unlocked phone can receive and update
But rooted u can manually install
