If you bought it recently, give it back to the seller, if he doesn't take it back, root it and install a custom ROM and it should work.

Search AAHK on google You'll find the thread, just follow the instructions to the LETTER! And read the Effen Manual 3 times before attempting root, just to be sure.

Before you start, read it about 5 times, seriously. The hack kit was designed to be somewhat confusing/to get you used to reading. Once you understand it, you'll see that it is quite simple. If you don't understand something, search for it, and if after that you still have problems, come back here and we will help you out.

waazza, if you are stuck in the white splash screen, there's a chance that the Hack Kit won't detect your phone...if that happens and u still can boot in hboot choose the fastboot method.

My Galaxy s3 is now what appears to be a hard bricked phone. The only response I get is a red light when I plug it in and a bing when I plug it into the usb port. No recognition by the computer though.
This was caused by me trying to flash the kernel to a very common one (siyah) and after it completed successfully I did a reboot, now it won't turn on or go into CWM recovery or basic android recovery.
I've exhausted every possibility I can think of /googled to solve it such as.
1) Taking the battery out
2) Trying to make Odin recognize it
3) Trying to boot into the various recoveries
4) Trying many a different button combos
5) Leaving it to charge for a while
The only think I can think of that I haven't tried is a USB jig.
My question is, what now? Help me, please.
Well your first issue is that we don't have a siyah kernel for the i747. So, yeah.
You might need to try a jig. I if that doesn't work then you will need to send it off to get jtag fixed.

+1 with sending the device to jtag
Sent from my SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
Since you flashed an i9300 kernel, likely with bootloaders, and it won't do anything you will need to send it off for JTAG repair.
JTag time. You've flashed a kernel not meant for our device.
Thanks guys, I figured that was probably my only option. And I feel really dumb now. I'm used to jailbreaking, rooting it seems, requires you to be much more vigilant.
Thanks again.

I'm coming from being a heavy htc user. What is the benefits of having these files. What can these files do that source code cannot?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
This is the bone stock file that. Ame loaded on the phone. These will fix most problems people run in to. They have the modem, system, bootloader, and cache.
So odin files is to Samsung as ruu is to htc? Any hope for multi task screen Or should I not count on it?

Yup, just like an RUU. It won't really have anything to do with multiview, but with the files available, devs can get a little more creative and try new things without worrying about having no way to bring the phone back if they mess up. So that could potentially get people working on multiview.

So I got my note 2 on day one and love it! Coming for the htc amaze 4g, the note 2 is awesome. So after 15 days I rooted my note 2. So easy when compared to the htc amaze or G1 days. Lol. I flashed jedi x-3 and everything was perfect. Then i saw jedi master 5 and flash it, I try to use my navigation but 1) gps icon didn't showed and 2) location was never found. So I nand restored to jedi x-3 but gps is dead! Has anyone had this experience? Thanks!

So I am back and like I suspected I am 99.9% sure that GPS IS DEAD!!! Tried the clear the agps. Then tried to go back stock through odin, but nothing. I even went one step further and had a nand restore withnthe backup when I rooted my note 2 the first time. So everthing was working on that nand backup and went to restore with stock, but to no avail! Anyways bad luck? Maybe? Thanks everyone for the help and for your recommendation. :good: :good:

60ish $ and jtag is your option, like I said look it up via google or the many threads on the subject here. Future reference look for roms via it's "ROM name" (D2TMO) or hardware name (T999) never fail to install proper rom.

The Miui Rayglobe v6 is not for your device, it's a 9300 rom and your phone is now officially BRICKED
You need to send it to a shop which has JTAG and get it working. It cost between $30 to $60 bucks,
your best bet is to go to eBay and do a search for JTAG the prices there are way less than other places.
Good luck!

before you flash. LOL
Idk if it has been mentioned, but your phone is bricked. That ROM is for the international S3. You are going to need to use a JTAG service to get the phone fixed which will cost you any where from $30-$100 depending who you use and how fast you want it done.
