Hi.! Guys im using note 2 on Cm 10.2 official rom ..the problem is when I connect my phone to charger powered off animation do not work n phone freezes with empty animation icon...n each time need to cold boot with battery off n back.
I tried finding solution on google and xda developers .but it seems some developers able to fix the bug especially on samsung galaxy s3 section... for eg liquidsmooth rom (official) by changing ramdisk . Coz think Cm based kernel do not detect .qmg files . Still not really sure reason why as im not that much into kernel development.
Would appreciate if some 1 can provide me some help ...as its quit annoying Bug ..coz I like to charge my phone powered off most time .
Cheers

Hey guys im using a at&t rooted galaxy s3 and im currently using a rom by team insomnia called aristodemos that can be downloaded directly to your device with rom tool box. Im am forced into using this rom as its the only rom ive found with a working service mode, to check for service mode go to phone dailpad and enter *#0011# and it should automaticly take you to service mode where u can push the menu key (bottom left key of device) and bring up the menu then press wifi and turn off wifi power save mode,. this fixes the promblematic few galaxy s3 phones with wifi drop problems (note each time the device is turned off and back on this must be redone to fix) so if any one knows of any jelly bean roms with working service mode for my wifi fix id like to know so that i can flash the rom. id even be willing to be a test subject if someone is attempting to build a jelly bean rom and would like to include this service mode in the rom. (note im not sure if jelly bean service mode pound keys are diffrent from ics) thanks guys and happy roming.
Most of the jb ROMs are aosp, and from my understanding g that alone rectifies the issue. Try out cm10 or aokp and see if the issue persists
Its not working in CM10 I just checked, but I don't think you would have the same issues with a AOSP rom as sometimes they use different (updated) QCOM drivers.
yeah..

The service .ode is an OEM thing it will only work on non AOSP based ROMs.

Thanks I did try cm10 when I first rooted and the problem did persist but maybe an update has come out. I will have to flash it tonight and get back with y'all. Thanks for the info on aosp and OEM roms I didn't know that about them.

Last night I flashed the nottach Rom I used his from when I was on my atrix so I was excited to see him make the switch to s3 his rooms are very stable and the installer is very easy for anyone to use it lets you install what u while leaving out anything u didn't use. Saves space and I've seen huge battery life difference probley because I get to keep WiFi power save mode on and my WiFi bug is fixed. Thanks nottach and can't wait to see what all you put out in the future.

Aristodemos had a JB ROM that was based off of the TMobile leak. It was touchwiz and it was working well enough to be a daily driver for me. They have since pulled the thread since they found too many bugs with the leaked ROM

my grand consuming more and more battery. example---> if i use for chating or playing games (only for 20min)(it use 30% or more of battery) itz take more battery.plz sugg any battery improvement
Delete unwanted bloatwares and install greenify to hibernate all unused apps ...
Disable wifi or 3g or edge when not in used ... alwaz clear all the running apps from multitasking window which are not in use.
If u are not using 3g then go to mobile network option and use gsm only network.
If after following this steps also battery still eating up a lot then install cyanogenmod 10.1

I am interested with solution to battery problems but I am surprised about suggestions of cm10.1 which clearly does not have dual sim(or Maybe it is solved?). Of course you will have better battery if only one sim is used. The main reason why I bought grand is the dual sim plus some smart phone features. So instead of flashing another rom why not just disable the secondary sim to have better battery life?

Disabling second sim will not increase battery life... check your normal ram and CPU usage when phone is in idle stage
From galaxy grand CM 10.1 firmware..
In stock rom at idle condition free ram is about 320mb or 350mb(unrooted) where as in cm10.1 free ram was alwaz 550mb+ sometimes 600mb free ram

My second sim is a roaming sim so it will draw more power. Anyway no matter how good cm 10.1 is I will not even touch it unless it has dual sim. I tried cm on my note 1 before so I do have idea what it does. Also tried its derivative paranoid. Went back to samsung based.

Cyanogen mod is more popular than stock Samsung ROM.. because of simplicity, stock android, awesome themes, less ram and cpu usage, fast response, more battery life .....Nowadays customers first check whether a phone has CyanogenMod support or not... Before they decide to buy any new androidphones..

Cyanogenmod wont get dual sim functionality
And i personally dont have any prob wid its single sim support bcoz i have a Nokia 1280 black and white display which i love the most as my daily phone calling work horse as its battery once charged fully lasts more than 4 days
So wheather cm10 got dual sim support or not it doesnt matter ...
I have used cm10.1 on my grand for more than 2months and the experience was pure awesome with thmemes make u love your phone in a new way daily ...
I think the real power of Grand can only be seen in CyanogenMod 10.1 ... along wid awesome battery life.

I agree anin. Even Samsung touchwiz is sometimes laggy in gs4, then what about grand..I can change my phone to HTC sense, xperia z,iPhone within seconds.. By changing the themes.. No need of any third party launchers support.. Check my stock keyboard with awesome theme in cm10.1
From galaxy grand CM 10.1 firmware..
I flash latest stock firmware only to update my baseband. after that i revert back to cm10.1..

Your phone will not lose root access after flashing to cm10.1
Everything which is there in your internal phone memory will be lost ... so do a backup of that.
Data which is there in memory card wont get deleted.

Hey guys whats up namaste and I would like to share my aa.. Problem I have a Galaxy Note 2 2 GT-N7100 international model and I bought it just 8 months a ago and I had android 4.1.1 stock rom with touchwiz the battery was ok for me for daily use after an update to 4.2.2 my battery became terrible and my phone started heating. After a build number update I got heating problem fixed but I still had battery problem and I have no idea why. I have rooted my phone yesterday and installed cyanogenmod 10.1 because one of my friend told me that it has better battery backup on custom roms. But I still have battery problems even after installing greenify app and doing clean master.
Here is the page that I get in settings - battery
Flash a better kernel and then install an app called superpower from market.

How did you installed 4.2.2 ?
As far I know there is no official 4.2.2 ROM for note 2
Your brightness is in auto mode?
Are you a heavy user of 3g internet ?

I am also noob
Kernels provide communications between software and hardware ..when software need something from hardware then it send request to kernels
There are many kernels if you look at development section and you can flash them the same way as you flash custom ROM by going into recovery

Why Is there a big drop in battery in zero time on your PIC..... See under the r in battery.
Did you turn it off and then it still drains battery. This should not happen and sounds like a repair job-

I had same problem. Try this.
Turn Auto brightness off and put brightness lowest.
Turn off 3g data (temporarily)
Turn off GPS
And Finally put phone in Airplane Mode
Now.. Reboot Phone.
Do this at night and keep track of the percentage it used and for how long.
Then slowly put brightness to Auto and turnoff Airplane mode.
Try to keep track of percentage and time once more.
Finally once everything functioning well, turn the rest of the setting on!!
I had exact same problem as you did and this fixed it for me
I use 50% of my battery for at least 8 hours+.

Can someone please provide me with a working semi stock ICS rom link...I need to get my wife's phone fully working and she dosnt like these customized roms and it seems like all link are dead for older builds. And I can never get Sammobile links to fully download or ever work....I can't use stock jellybean 4.1.2 because of some stupid settings that get brought on the home screen it's an issue from awhile back that I don't think ever was fixed and Samsung said it needs to be re flashed by them but she'd be happy with an ICS rom that everything fully works including tethering...thanks in advance and sorry for the novel

Try Jedi Mind Trick, I'm using it right now and it's great. I'm using it with the Tiberius kernel (I don't think I spelled it right lol), but you HAVE to let the rom settle in for at least 10 mins, otherwise it'll just start giving problems such as random reboots, force closes, battery life issues, etc. It's based on Touchwiz 4.1.2 so you won't have any camera issues.
to the rescue
