Battery difference - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Recently, I got a new battery of eBay and I think there is a difference in its power. Check the picture. My previous battery has only 5.xx Wh, whereas the new one have 6.11Wh

There is a simple formula on how to calculate Wh into mAh.
According to the old values given on the battery you get 5,55Wh / 3.7V = 1.5Ah or 1500mAh
According to your values you should get 6.11Wh /3.7V = 1.651Ah so 1651mAh
However on your pic it still says 1500mAh, so one of those values must be wrong.

You don't think its a counterfeit rite?
Peeling the sticker (Samsung Label) off can actually see whether its fake. They say, if its pure shiny and of low-quality from the looks then yea. Fake.

I don´t think it´s a fake. Looks unique to me. It´s either a typo they forgot to correct or they indeed incrased the capacity a bit but are selling the batteries still as 1500mA to not to confuse the customers.

I wonder that do we have to charge our new battery/phone or even laptop for overnight nowadays?

2430mah stock size gold battery???

Hi,
Was wondering if anyone has tried one of these.....
Its 2430 (or 2450mah) the ebay page cant really decide, im guessing its a typo.... Its the same size as the default battery. Thats a calculated 47% increase in battery capacity...
Link here:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/110750637282?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
Its the biggest battery capacity i can find without increasing the physical size of the battery and requiring a new case....
If not, i will post some of my own reviews once it comes through.

Ya i'll bet its a typo, more like 1450mah rather than 2450mah. No cheap aftermarket battery can even match the stock battery in capacity let alone offer 50% more capcity.
im not expecting a full 2400mah out of it, more like a 2100mah....
thing people need to realize, is the stock battery is made in the same places (sometimes) as these after market batteries. The quality might be slightly off, but not substancially..... they are all made in asian countries for less than $0.20 a piece in mass production....

You'll be lucky if it even matches the stock battery, you just can't magically cram more capacity into a battery. The samsung 2000mah battery is thicker and comes with a new cover, why isn't samsung using this battery if it has more capacity and is smaller than its own 2000mah battery? If its too good to be true(on ebay) it probably is.
probably the same reason why they dont release ICS 4.0 and other things straight away that other phones have that is better than what they currently have..... coz they are slightly retarded as a company lol
not a chance that has more power than the stock battery if its the same size. Those gold wrapped batteries from ebay always get really bad reviews. Youll probably find its 1300mah
Seen one review where it was a smaller battery in a plastic frame. Battery capacity was much lower than the stock battery. If it sounds too good to be true and it is cheap, then it probably is.

...are you serious? it's a proven fact that non-OEM/aftermarket batteries in general are usually worse than stock batteries. check out sites like http://batteryboss.org/ you can see testing of aftermarket brands like seidio and mugen...the actual capacity is between 55% to 85% of the advertised capacity, while OEM batteries are ~95%+.
as for what you said about samsung being a retarded company and not releasing the best hardware/software possible, you'd rather trust a random ebay seller with an UNBRANDED battery coming straight from china for $14 aus dollars, which is somehow still 47% higher in capacity, over a multinational corporation with trusted suppliers who are industry leaders in their own right? you really think samsung would willingly reduce their battery capacity in light of the huge implications it could have on the sales of their flagship phone?
as a final piece of evidence, here's a google translated website showing the testing of so called ebay '2430 mah' batteries. http://translate.google.com/transla...e/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-2-3500-mah-2430mah.html as he shows halfway down the page, the real capacity is somewhere between 1000-1250mah. terrible. you should research more before you blindly advocate for your misinformed purchases. all it does is drag other gullible members of this forum down with you.

Different material can make a big difference.
I know it's probably bull****, but i bought one of those battery and i was impressed by the time it last. I tought i would end with a smaller time than stock battery, but it lasted longer. I did not made super precise test, I don't have time for that. I must always be with latest rom / kernel so flashing a new rom or kernel a day don't let me much time to bench battery xD. My point is, that i think it last longer than original samsung battery and this, even if people are doing test that proof i'm false.
Guys you're all being very unfair.
This is obviously a Global Dynamics battery, I believe the model is 'Fringe'. It actually draws it's extra power from a trans dimensional link and was invented by Dr William 'Pointy' Bell.
I'd suggest everyone buy one.
The next version includes the facility to phone yourself after the final race of the day and tell yourself the result before it happened.

So this means the advertised battery should have a capacity between 1336.5 and 2065.5. So one could be lucky and really get a battery with more capacity than the stock one.
Sure, I agree with you that such cheap battery can't hold that much juice. However for a spare battery it is fine if you look at capacity/price.

Typo is an abbreviation of 'Typographic Error' and the phrase originates from when newspapers were printed using printing plates as against computers that are used today.
An example of a typo would be writing h3llo rather then hello or 1243 rather then 1234, it's usually a mistyped character instead of a spelling mistake.
Hope this clears it up for you.

True, but I also did mention that another site tested the capacity specifically for the ebay '2430mah' batteries, and came out with a total capacity of 1000-1250mah. Even if we take it as 1250mah, that's still a 25% decrease from the stock capacity of 1680mah, which is abysmal. You could argue that it's fine as a spare battery, but at that price and capacity you might as well just buy another stock OEM battery, and save yourself the frustration. However, I would definitely argue against using it as your primary battery, for obvious reasons.
Any GOOD suggestions to a STOCK size battery with BIG capacity, that WORKS? Or battery similar or better than Samsung's 2000mah battery?
I use mostly clear TPU cases. Thinking of cutting hole in battery cover for a bigger battery too.
I wish battery covers like those in the 2000mah extended battery kit could be bought in colors, cheap. And then get some nice battery.
Sadly all those mah ratings can't be trusted

No such thing, its either the stock samsung battery or the larger 2000mah samsung battery, everything else is going to have lower capacity no matter what the label says. Check out http://batteryboss.org/ and find an aftermarket battery that has similar capacity as an oem one... there simply isnt one.

Why would they sell a lower capacity battery?

it may just be expansys australia putting a wrong capacity on the title.
the battery shown on the photo has "for EB615268VU" on it, and EB615268VU is the original 2500mAh GNote battery. So if this goki is supposed to replace the original, maybe it has the same capacity. The battery/box image certainly doesn't have any capacity info on it.
I also tried to find this 3rd party battery on the manufacturer's website, but it is very much useless.

they don't. wtfmateim65 implied in his post that 3.8V and 4.35V made a difference, i was trying to clear up that misconception.
since the battery is the same size as OEM, there's no way that this battery is 3250mAh as claimed. also, if you look at the back of the battery it says 4.2V...just another fake like i said.
this seller is also implying in his auction that these batteries have short life, and to ignore it because of a "memory effect" that li-ion chemistry batteries do not have.
all in all, would not trust the rating, but it may certainly be a good replacement for the stock battery -- sans NFC and the extra mAh claimed.
Damn wouldn't that be a nice deal

I´ve checked the negative feedback for the last months of that ebay-shop and other which offer stock size monster battery´s, and some sounds like this: "misrepresented strength of battery", "Bad battery no difference between the original one and this battery very poor", so it seems like clear fake mAh strength. :crying:
I think Samsung itself would equip their flagship with a thin stock-sized 3000 mAh battery if it would be technically possible, but i think it is not and all the ebay items are fake. There are a few other battery’s on ebay with similar strength (2850, 2950 mah), and there are also negative feedback about their real battery performance, except the good feedback for fast shipping or something unimportant.
I bought two weeks ago a Polarcell 2400 mAh battery and I´m not disappointed, but also not really happy, there is almost no noticeable difference in life perfomance between the stock 2100mAh and polarcell 2400mAh (+15%), but i think their 2400mAh is real, because the Polarcell is noticeable heavier and like in all corners 1mm bigger than the Samsung stock.

[Q] Replacement Batteries

This will be a quick one.
My battery is starting to be a bit rubbish, so I am looking at getting a new, higher powered one.
I have found these on ebay that look ok, but I wanted to throw it out to u guys to see if any of u have bought them.....
2100mAh 100% GENUINE SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 i9300 BATTERY 2100mAH NFC FIT GALAXY S3 GT-i9300

2850mAh GOLD 2850 mah SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 i9300 Li-ION SMARTPHONE BATTERY
3800mAh 3800mAh High Capacity Battery for Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300
I don't want to go for one of those super high power, double size batteries, cos I like the fact I have a slim phone.
I've had many bricks in the past and I do not want to turn my nice slim S3 into an old Nokia size brick, lolz.

I have also been wanting to replace my battery, I just wanted to ask which of the original battery is better i have seen :
cell made in Japan assembled in China
cell made in Korea assembled in Vietnam
cell made in Korea assembled in china
Made in China
Made in Korea
Im sure there are others. I would guess anything made and assembled at same plant would be best, please correct me if im wrong.

I looked on their site and only found a 2200mAh battery, the bigger ones are double sized with the retrofit back plate.
Stock battery is only 2100mAh, so the Anker one isn't that much better =/
If the battery fits inside the standard back plate then it is the same capacity (or even less) as the standard battery, it's physically impossible for it to be any greater. Any advert saying a higher capacity for the same size is lying, so avoid.
Main point about the Anker is having two batteries, so you charge outside the phone and always have a fully charged spare to hand.

I'm not going to question ur knowledge about this, but how can u have different mAh "AA" batteries, that are all the same size in that case??
I don't want to have to carry around a second battery with me all the time, this is why I was looking at different bigger capacity batteries =/
You can buy AA batteries in many different forms, alkaline, NiCad, Li-ion etc. Each has a different power density, with Li-ion being the highest. Standard S3 batteries are already the highest density so can't be bettered, if it were that easy then Samsung would have already done it.
The only way to get more capacity is to increase the physical dimensions, don't take my word for it try Wikipedia.

I've found the zerolemon 2300mAh batteries on eBay, HERE and I have also done some web searches about them, they look pretty good and I haven't found any bad reviews. 200mAh bigger than stock, and tested to be that capacity too, so must be true. I'm thinking of going for these, will just have to get a US to UK plug adaptor to go with the charger, lol.

? No, you weren't at all rude -I wouldn't suggest anyone accept 'internet advise' without cross checking it against something else.
The batteries you've chosen have a modest claim for capacity so are probably genuine. Only drawbacks are the limited warranty and return postage, if ever required. The desktop battery charger I have looks identical, plugs into a standard micro usb charger so you might not need an adaptor.
Has anyone ever tried the momax battery ?

Almost anything that claims more battery capacity while keeping the same design is most likely to be fake. I'd recommend getting an actual extended battery which is bigger than stock such as powerbear or zerolemon.
