I'm supprised to see more people aren't interested in this. The whole theory behind this design is to have something on your phone designed to absorb major impact, rather than transfer it. Anyone heard of carbon fiber? Now race car drivers can hit a wall at 200 mph and walk away. With the $500 investment and the high likleyhood of the phone hitting the concrete at one point, this stuff is pretty exciting.
This d30 stuff is starting to show up in a lot of different products. Many of which are personal protection. Theres a video out there of some guy wearing a beanie lined with this stuff, and another guy beating him over the head with a shovel. Not that I'm interested in trying that, but it seems like some pretty good stuff to make a phone case out of.
The material seems cool enough, I'd like to see the case in person to get a feel for what it's like.
I do like how the cases are slim and seem to offer decent protection, I'm kind of surprised that they would throw the phone onto rocks without any kind of screen protection, it seems an unlucky toss would result in a broken screen.
Shame they cant get on at them about updating it as well LOL

3 complaints resulted in a ban - ridiculous. Compared to millions of complaints that people in the government are not doing their job.

I actually support the verdict..when they state in the advertisement that the handset can do a particular thing, the handset should live up to it..defy's add really exaggerates the reality as there are many people whose defy's screen broke after falling for a couple of feet..so fair!!

It's not unique to the Defy, though - you can break any smartphone's screen if you drop it on a hard surface and it lands the right (wrong) way. It's not that the Defy has a fragile screen, it's just that it isn't as tough as the advert suggested. If they'd just stuck to saying that it was scratch resistant then they'd have been OK. But (a) that wouldn't have made such a dramatic and eye-catching scene, and (b) advertising people probably don't understand the difference between "scratch resistant" and "indestuctible"!
The ASA is fast becoming known for its absurd over-reach. But, here's one of best from this group of idiots:

thats exactly what i was trying to say...i am no expert, but i dun believe that the screen does any better than any other handset's screen if it falls..and if it is "supposed" to break after falling on a hard surface, they shouldn't show it as "indestructible" in the advt..
Well, if you want to get totally anal about this (which is what the ASA purports to do), the way the phone is depicted in the video is exactly the way mine has fallen -- and on stone and rocks -- several times and survived w/o so much as a scratch. Honestly, I've been impressed with its ruggedness.
The ASA has also ruled that you cannot have a photo of the Wailing Wall and say "Hi, from Jerusalem"; it has to say "Hi, from the occupied territories!" (Agree or not, isn't a bit arrogant of a non-governmental advertising watch dog to be making foreign policy?)
Best of all is when the organization "Save Darfur" was challenged by the European Sudanese Public Affairs Council (an arm of the same government killing Sudanese) saying that it was "false advertising" to use the figure of 400k killed and missing. Since this exact figure could not be proven, the ASA came out in favor of the European Sudanese Public Affairs Council.
Honestly, I don't give a **** what they say about my phone or anything else. I take it upon myself, as a responsible human being, to know not to break my own phone.

You can't stop Apple, but you can demand that the US Patent System be changed. Apple will do as Apple pleases, within legal grounds of course, but regardless of that the Patent system is BROKEN. Petition to change that, not Apple.
But but but Apple invented search so they are not wrong in suing. Oh wait they didn't.

Another hilarious way to make a tiny bit of ground is get enough people to go protest during the iPhone 5 launch. Create an artificial lineup with signs.
This way you accomplish a few things.
- You turn some of Apple's good high in demand publicity into some bad lawsuit patent type publicity.
- you artificially make the iPhone 5 line ups even more daunting then they usually are if you protest right where people line up. This will deter some of the people that might consider lining up for an IPhone 5
- if the cops come and try to move you, you can just say you are lining up for an iPhone provided you can ditch your Apple sucks sign in time.
They pulled it from the Play store
I was going to order one today and sure enough it has coming soon written where buy now was... If you cant beat them, sue them... So they cant release their superior product. Ever since Steve Jobs died Apple has been getting its tail whipped by Google and this is what they have had to resort to. Its like the finger nail scratch marks on the floor left as apple gets dragged out of the house kicking and screaming. After its all said and done this will be a bloody snapped off nail left as a sign of apples futile resistance to domination.

A big mattress demands big bedding. Large bedding can require a big money outlay. That's why it's so important to handle bedding selection for your king size mattress the correct way. It makes much more feeling to find the right gear from the beginning than it does to spend a small fortune on bedding!
The initial question you might be getting is, "do I require a new mattress?" This is most likely the simplest. Inquire yourself if you are sleeping well at night. Do you really feel rested in the morning or do you require five cups of coffee prior to even thinking about obtaining ready for your working day? If so, chances are you do need a best mattress 2015.
The reader, interested by the advertisement would read on additional, only to find out that the initial provide was just a ruse to get interest. (The packing peanuts were never used previously, and you have to pay for the product to use it for totally free.) This critically annoys me. If it annoys me, believe of how your reader will feel.

Had a reallly...really bad night last night. Found out my girlfriend had been lying to me, almost cost me my job. So in typical over reaction man fashion of putting up with a woman for FARRRRR too long, I decided to toss my phone at the ground in protest. Well...it bounced and slammed into the corner of our rollable island and literally exploded. We were both surprised at how jacked up it got. I have THROWN my OnePlus 6T and I finally broke the back glass after three years helping a coworker and it slid out of my pocket and landed on concrete. Screen is STILL perfect. But. Here's ya goes. Smile and shake your heads away. $1200 paper weight. My waste of a relationship/lifes fault.
Don't throw yours it's going to explode.
Go for a walk next time... I learned that the hard way, too.

Honestly, not that upset. Disappointed? Yes. But I am to blame.
For what it's worth, I am embarrassed to admit how many phones I have slammed down out of frustration and ended up cracking the back or another part (it's at least 3 phones). But usually due to flashing something that went poorly, not relationship troubles. Hang in there - we are all human.

I remember throwing the jacket that belonged to a mentally ill woman I was dating at the time. She had the flip phone I had bought her to use in the jacket. Oops. That's when I got her a better flip phone and I got my first Android, the HTC Droid Eris, so in a way it was a good thing.

Right? It'll be okay. It's just a phone. But I waited three years to upgrade. Lmao. 1....month...and I had to fight with google to get the first one replaced. It was faulty. Honestly? I feel as if it wasn't meant to be.

Out from the ashes, a blaze.
Pouring one out for your phone and your relationship.
Stories like these always surprise me.
I have friends that destroy xbox-controllers every couple month, personally I would never dare. Afterall, they cost money! I am far too stingy to waste money because of some emotions. Especially not a with a 1k phone o.o

sorry about the female problems; sometimes things are better without them around lol. My thing as far as angry outbursts is throwing golf clubs when I f*ck up a drive or put while golfing. Lost several clubs in the water lol
I box for conditioning and beat the #### out of the punching bags to relieve tension.
take care
Please, a moment of silence!
Wev all been there before, but damn you really done a number on that phone lol
First of all...I've been there. 2 years into my 2nd marriage, we had bought a house and were trying to start a family. We suffered a miscarriage, and her idea of coping was to dump all her good friends and go back to her teenage party ways. Nothing puts a knife in your heart like waking up at 2am to an empty bed, tracking her phone down to a random house, hearing sex noises from an open window, and the door finally opens to some guy in his boxers. If that wasn't bad enough, she moved back to California without filing for divorce, refused to come home, and wouldn't even talk about issues. Then, when I finally filed for divorce, she lied to all our friends and family, spinning a sob story about how I was trying to pull the rug out from under her...even though she hadn't worked a single day, it was 100% my income paying the bills.
That being said...
If you find yourself losing control when you're upset, you might want to seek some counseling. I don't mean this in a condescending way; it's just better to find support and help you talk through a difficult time instead of becoming self destructive. One day, it might be a phone. The next, it might be a car into a bridge support. Things are replaceable, life isn't.
And no matter what someone does to you, or how wronged you feel, never forget you're responsible for the things you do. Don't give other people ammo to use against you (especially vindictive ex wives). Don't find yourself on the wrong side of the law. And don't throw away everything you've worked hard for.
Remember that getting angry is cheap; fixing the results can be extremely expensive.
And before you think I'm some mid life crisis dude....I'm only 34.
Edit: honorable mention for "bro your life sucks"...
When I was 18, I had this cute Jewish girl come into my life. She was pretty much the perfect girlfriend - she was attractive, whip smart, a lot of fun (especially the adult fun if you know what I mean), she wasn't crazy, she was a great cook, her family was rich...And she was a gamer girl.
She dumped me for some guy in Australia she had never met and only talked to online.
