Boys and girl(s) ....
In this tutorial we'll learn HOW TO "format ALL" from recovery and flash clean and fresh new ROM
This is very easy job to do.
But as I received many PMs how to do this and (if you remember) that question was question number one on PAC thread - I decided to write this tutorial.
It's written for absolute beginners (I hate word noobs) and it's totally safe to do.
The most important thing is - do not rush, read twice and if you aren't sure in some step ASK
So let's go...
For this we'll need...
1) Computer
2) Working recovery
3) USB cable
4) Kernel with recovery and ability to mount USB from recovery (we'll need to copy few files from PC)
my advice - ICS kernel Advanced Stock Kernel or ELITE-Nozomi v2
5) New ROM and kernel you would like to flash
6) Few minutes
Before we begin to format our SDcard make sure you backed up all your files, pictures and other stuff you wanna keep.
Copy flashable kernel (see above - "what we'll need") to your device.
This procedure isn't dangerous but you are doing this on your own risk.
I will help you if you stuck somewhere but XDA or I won't be responsible if you damage your device!
Restart device, hold vol up to enter recovery
First off all we have to backup our ROM (if anything goes wrong)
Go to backup and restore and select backup.
While you're waiting, prepare new ROM and both kernels on your PC.
Now flash kernel

}
Select Install zip from sdcard and find your kernel (Advanced Stock or ELITE kernel).
You are maybe wondering why I said ICS kernel...?
Because we have problems mounting USB from recovery in JB kernels (if you have one that work - great, use that one).
After you installed kernel, restart device to recovery.
be careful to restart to recovery, remember - now you have ICS kernel and JB ROM (I guess you use JB)
Mount SDcard
O.K, go to "mounts and storage" and select "mount USB storage"
If you see this screen
And "autostart" opened your device on your PC - that's good.
Open Xperia S folder on your PC, find folder clockworkmod - copy whole folder to your device.
If you have few backups you may open that folder (on PC) and delete folders with older dates -if you don't need that backup- copy that to test you have connection.
If copying went O.K you may proced
If not - find different kernel. (but if you flashed one of recommended you can't have any problems).
FORMAT ALL
Go to main screen (we are still in recovery) and select "mounts and storage" again.
And select, one by one
- format /system
- format /cache
- format /data
- format /sdcard
DO NOT RESTART DEVICE!!!
Don't restar device or you'll stuck without ROM and kernel and you'll have to use fastboot.
Now we'll use our ROM and KERNEL on PC.
Mount USB storage again.
Copy ROM and kernel from PC.
Unmount and...
Go to main recovery screen.
Select "install zip from SDcard.
Now we need our kernel (with recovery) which will be our new kernel. (you have already prepared new kernel, if you are 100% sure your new ROM has recovery in it you can skip this part and flash ROM right away - but be sure you have ROM which have kernel with recovery)
Find your kernel and flash it.
Restart device and go to recovery again.
Almost done - flashing new ROM
O.K...hardest part is behind us now...
Select "install zip from SDcard"
Find ROM you copied from your PC and flash it.
Restart and you are done.
If you are lazy, like me, restart to recovery and continue to read...
*** additional info ***
Remember, we saved and copied backup, we made, to our device.
Now we can use it to restore data.
Restart device to recovery.
Go to "backup and restore" and select "advanced restore".
Now select "restore data".
After restore is finished you can restart your device and boot android.
If you restored data from your backup you'll have all your apps and accounts already set up.
If not -settings wizard will start - just like when you boot your device right from the box
In both case you'll see your SDcard is empty and you have nothing but your ROM...
If you aren't sure in what you are doing - ASK and READ twice
If this tutorial helped you - hit tnx
One question. If we'll backup from old ROM data, wont it bring back all data, folders and and and.Even from uninstalled app's,old rom. All things from what I need clean my SD? Aren't they backed up too?

Yes and No.
If you restore your data you will get back some stuff but only apps and accounts details.
You won't get photos, pictures and your files.
Only apps and their stuff.
The best way is to do all from the scratch.
New ROM and installation of all apps you need again.
That's why I said additional info - only if you are lazy
For example, I have 5-6Gb of zips, png's and all kind of a craps, so I usually format all but restore data couse my ROM is clean. (I always have one backup - eXistanZ v2 absolutely clean, only with basic apps and all accounts already set... So when I need clean ROM but.with root browsers and apps I need I just restore this)

Is that for both LB and UB? Can I flash same kernel for LB?

Well....no.
You can't flash custom kernels on locked bootloader.
In case you have LB you have to find kernel for LB (stock) with recovery and ability to mount SDcard.
You'll have to search a bit and find out which kernel can do that.
I believe Advance Stock for ICS will do the job.
If you can't flash kernel, flash ROM with kernel and proced like you flashed only kernel, it's basically same thing only you'll have to wait longer for RIM to flash

Really easy like 2+2... My phone is like new from box!
You are the best!!!

Please read OP again.
That's the purpose of this thread...
To format SDcard!
That's why I said : prepare files (ROM) on your PC and check "mount" - basically, check could you be able to copy ROM from PC to device once you format all your data.
This thread is written for you to know how to format all and start from a scratch, so it's kinda silly question when you said "is a format of sdcard good idea"!?!

I would gladly help mate but I really don't follow what's happening in XS forum.
Try to ask on few kernel threads and I'm sure developers or one of users will help you.
Just ask is there recovery able to mount sdcard in that boot.img and you'll find suitable kernel.
It doesn't even have to be for your ROM, you just need it to format card and flash suitable kernel.
For example, you can use ICS kernel but make sure you don't try to boot flashed ROM before you flashed new kernel, kernel for your ROM.

Hey @artttur
Did you also Format your Xperia S SD Card with a Locked Bootloader?
If yes, For the flashable kernel with recovery(in Step 4),Did you use the ics kernel which you have pasted in the above post?
Also, for Step 5, I read that we can directly flash the ROM which installs Kernel with recovery in it...How did you do?
Do you know of any such ROM?
Sorry, I asked for help in xperia s Development threads, I didnt get any reply!!
Thanks...

How to format internal sd card in fat32?
Hi guys,
I'm having some problems with my girlfriend's Sony xperia S.
I'm tryn' to install a custom rom, so I unblock the device, rooted and installed cwm recovery v6.0.3.0.
All works fine until I try to "install zip from sdcard", cause when I select "choose zip from sdcard", it returns an error "E:Can't mount /sdcard/".
By a long search on google I found that some old cwm can't read sdcard formatted in ntfs and they need a fat32 one.
The probelm is that I really don't know how can i format an internal sd card. Windows did not see it as a storage like other disks, partition wizard also can't see the disk and of course from cwm I can't do anything on sdcard cause it can't access it. Can some one help me? I spent the whole day looking for a solution.
Thanks
great thanks

Hi all,
This is not squashed ROM for EU HD2 which contains all files from the stock RUU_Ace_HTC_WWE_1.72.405.3_R_Radio_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2_release_161342_signed. Yes of course some executables(akmd, reboot, vold), some libraries, some config files and kernel were replaced for Leo. The reason of why I do this is my wish to have Desire HD ROM on my EU HD2 which is closest to stock.
The ROM size is about 407M. I do not like squashed ROMs. We all have sdcards and I do not see any sense to make squashed ROM. Therefore this build uses the second partition of sdcard to store dalvik cache, data, system apps, framework. So size of this rom in NAND is 391Mb, and in sdcard is 16Mb. I recommend you to use 1024MB second partition, but not less.
My CWM installation script mounts the second partition of sdcard to /data, creates sysfiles directory and copies /system/etc/clockwidget, and /system/etc/slideshow and /system/etc/soundimage to this second partition into /data/sysfiles directory. After that the script creates symbolic links to these three directories in /system/etc direcory, and copies all other files of ROM to system partition in NAND. So we have 391Mb of files in NAND, and 16Mb of files in the second partition of sdcard.
The kernel mounts the second partition of sdcard to /data before the init.rc script will be run. Therefore android use this partition as internal storage, and we see free space of this partition as free phone storage in info.
The content:
- Full stock Desire HD RUU 1.72.405.3
- Last Gauner's kernel.
- Fixed mms.
- Fixed WiFi MAC.
- Fixed su.
- Fixed sql lib.
- Fixed first and external partition mounting.
- Percent battery.
- Rmnet is ON by default, if you would like to enable ppp you should create ppp file in /system directory and reboot your phone. To create the ppp file you should connect your phone to PC and run this command in a terminal:
adb shell touch /system/ppp
You should delete this file and reboot your phone if you would like to enable rmnet again:
adb shell rm -f /system/ppp
Not worked:
- 720p recording
- bluetooth MAC
Removed apps:
- Ereader. Use the attached archive if you would like to use ereader. Install it by CWM.
Link to ereader
"How to install" is in the readme file of the build. Please, read it! This ROM is only flashable using ClockworkMod. CWM v 1.2 is included into archive of this build. Note, system partition in NAND should be 399Mb.
CWM v 1.2 fix:
If you would like to use CWM backup and restore you should replace CWM initrd.gz file on this file. I fixed CWM to soppurting partition layout without userdata partition..
Update the previous version ROM:
If you would like to update the previous version you should not touch your sdcard. You should do this only: format NAND by task29, install magldr, flash new CWM partition layout, install new ROM.
Recommendations:
- I recommend to format NAND by task29 before install this ROM. After formatting will be done you should install magldr again. All tools are included into the archive.
- I recommend to calibrate G-Sensor. To do it go to Seetings->Display->G_Sensor calibration->, place your phone FACE-DOWN on level surface, press Calibrate button. After calibration will be finished press Ok button.
- If you would like to use the "backup second partition" feature in CWM, the second partition should be labeled as sd-ext.
- Sometimes magldr does copying of data with errors(lost data) in the "USB MassStg" mode, but you do not see these errors. Next you can see that the ROM installation was finished shortly. If it happens you should look into CWM log and you will see some errors of files extraction from archive. If you will copy this archive to sdcard again, but only by CWM or by other cardreader, you will not see these errors in CWM log. Therefore I recommend you to copy ROM zip to sdcard by CWM or by other cardreader.
- To get a CWM log you should do this:
a) Install the ROM
b) After the installation will be completed you should not reboot your phone! Go to "advanced" item of CWM menu.
c) Next select "Report Error" item. CWM will create the clockworkmod directory in root of sdcard.
d) Next copy the recovery.log file from the clockworkmod directory and attach this file to the thread. I will check it.
- The first loading(from the phone rebooting moment to appearance of the language choice screen) is long. Be patient, please.
- Please, setup only that you really need during the first boot. Desire ROM is syncing and configuring a lot of stuff during first boot if you have entered your google account. I recommend to setup all needed accounts after initial setup. And, please, let system sync and configure all stuff, next reboot your phone. After this work will be completed the ROM will be fast. I recommend:
a) disable the sync of accounts which are no needed for you, or change "Update schedule" of these accounts.
b) disable the "Back up my setting" for google account if it is no needed for you.
c) disable Automatic brightness and set Brightness to min value.
- Note, please, you can use CifsManager to mount cifs(samba(ms windows))/nfs network resources to your phone. This tool is available in the Market. It allows you to play music or watch movies from any shared resources which are available in your local network without copying this content to your phone. To use it your phone should be connected to local network by WiFi.
Currently I have 2Gb ext4 second partition on my Transcend 6-class sdcard. I can tell the system works properly and fast:

Download:
EFP v.2 HD2 Desire HD stock (last Gauner's kernel)
Kernels: (only if you would like to replace a kernel of your already installed ROM to other kernel)
Gauner's kernel with ext4
MDJ's 10.3 kernel
MDJ's 10.4OC kernel
Updates:
Desire HD stock toolbar
Desire HD custom toolbar with percent battery
How to install kernels, updates or fixs:
1. You should have already ClockworkMod(zImage and initrd.gz) on sdcard. If you use ROM-ZIP builds I think you have it already.
2. Copy the update.zip file from an update or a fixs archive to sdcard root.
3. Reboot your phone, hold Power button to access the magldr menu.
4. Next select the "Boot AD SD" item. ClockworkMod will be loaded and you will see ClockworkMod Recovery menu.
5. Select the "apply update from sdcard" item.
6. Select "Yes".
7. After flashing will be done select the "reboot system now" item.
what working and not working ???
It would be nice to have the readme of each build at least posted in the first post, so we don't have to download everything to see if we need it
I am always looking for a PURE/Stock Desire HD build, with no frils and no EXTRA apps, for a TMOUS HD2. But with no readme , i'll wait for someone first.

But Until I get some sort of details on the builds and whats in it and whats not, I'll download MDJ's and let it sit on my sd card, cause I found CWM yesterday, and personally love it, especially with being able to take most NAND roms and convert them to CWM makes it ideal.

From the "How to instal" in readme file:
...Copy the CwMRec directory from the 2_step directory to root of sdcard.
After copying will be finished disconnect USB cable.
Go to "Services->BootSettings->AD SD Dir" in the magldr menu and select the CWMREC directory....
1. Perhaps you forgot to disconnect a USB cable safely.
2. You copied the content of the CwMRec directory to root of sdcard, but not the CwMRec directory. In this case the CwMRec directory not exists on sdcard, the zImage and initrd.gz files are placed in root of sdcard. You should skip the step of selecting directory for boot from SD or select the <.> .

This is a2sd+.
In case of A2SD the internal storage does not include external partition, you will see only size of free space in NAND. But in case A2SD+ you will see free space of the external partition as size of intrenal storage.

I think you forgot to disconnect a USB cable safely. Or you copied the content of the CwMRec directory to root of sdcard, but not the CwMRec directory.

WARNING: THIS MOD IS INTENDED FOR ADVANCED USER
this mod is difficult to applied. for an easier method, you can use my guide here about increasing internal memory without dualboot kernel. if you want a NEW-BETTER-FASTER-BUGLESS method to save your internal memory, you can use my akuro mod in this thread
anyway, this is only one of dualboot implementation based on irfanbagus's work. I actually doing this for fun. this mod is actually intended for rom development for any rom dev who want to develop a custom rom without a risk got a bootloop in his device. please feel free to discuss all stuff about dualboot mod or how to enhance it but don't ask about how to install it on your device. if you don't know how to install it, it means this mod doesn't suitable for you. don't worry. there's a lot of alternative method to save your internal memory space as I've stated above.
let's get straight on how we do this. first of all, in this mod the second ROM will installed on sdcard with modified partition size. we'll make bigger partition on data and system partition. please look into the picture below.

3. a sdcard minimal 8gb class 6.
what you'll nedd:
1. a custom rom to be modified.
2. a dualboot custom kernel. you can get it here. http://www.mediafire.com/?6zrkh6a872036x7
3. a modified rom installer script. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?nxgiz0993brp9re
4. a partition tools.
5. all things needed to modify a rom.
the steps:
1. >>>SDCARD PARTITION<<<
make 4 partition on your sdcard. all partition is primary. my recommended setting for all partition is. 6gb fat32 on first partition, 300mb ext3 on 2nd partition, 300mb ext3 for 3rd partition, and the rest ext3 for 4th partition. you can modify the the 1st and 4th size but don't change the 2nd and 3rd partition size.
2. >>>install irfan's dualboot kernel<<<
feel free to use any method to install the kernel. you can use mai77's, faqbly's method or odin to install the kernel.
3. >>>ROM preparation<<<
extract your custom rom. replace meta-inf folder with the one I've give to you. this script will install your rom to your sdcard partition. re-zip the rom, then copy it to your formatted sdcard (in the 1st partition of course). if these script didn't work check irfan's original post for detailed guide on modifying installer script here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1598803
4. >>>dual boot setting and ROM installation<<<
create a blank file in sdcard named 'bootsdcard' then go to recovery mode. install your custom rom. wait till it finished then reboot. the first installation will take a longer than the usual. be patient.
finish. enjoy your 2nd rom with larger /data and /system partition
========
there are several possibilities on installing the new rom. in most cases, it have succesfully installed the rom (I've got no report on installation failure till this moment). but if the rom doesn't work, you'll need to modify the rom and the installer script.
DISCLAIMER:
1. DO IT WITH YOUR OWN RISK.
2. the succession rate is depend on your custom rom and your sdcard quality. do your best to modify it.
3. don't use a2sd or link2sd
4. don't install the app on sdcard when you use the 2nd rom.
5. it will get laggy if your sdcard is not fast enough. you'll need a faster one.
6. this mood will make your battery drains faster. please be cautious.

wow 750 internal mem?!!!!
seems like i need to buy a new sd card
what will happen
if my android in dualboot rom and active usb storage mode?
you can use usb storage mode just like as you use your first rom.
It is true. How make more free space?

1st partition, fat32, is used for regular use (store photos, music, etc)
2nd partition is system partition
3rd partition is cache partition
4th partition is data partition
you can increase the size of 4th partition to have larger size of data partition.

I though that its totally different. this mod is based on dualboot implementation.

this mod need more complex step because of dual boot. you not only get bigger (or smaller, it is resizeable) internal storage, but you also got 2 different rom in one phone that you can select which one is active with easy way (no need re-flashing) and both working independent (no share data, apps, account). it's mix of data2sd, system2sd, and cache2sd.
in this case, kurotsugi want to make use data2sd capabilities.

No no it is working. But plz give me a solution, when i want to flash another rom by your process then what to do? Before flashing i have to do again flash the kernel and then format ext partition? I am using ddla1 firmware. When i install the dual boot kernel by odin or cwm method it getting boot loops.

before you install another 2nd rom you should reformat (or simply delete all files) in sdcard's data partition (the 4th partition). you don't need to install the kernel again.

Where i FOUND the files? I have MODIFIED REPENCIS ROM AND FLASHED. IT DOES NOT BOOTED. ONLY THE SCREEN STAY "GALAXY Y YOUNG GT-S5360" PLZ GIVE ME THE META-INF. ZIP FOR REPENCICS

You said that my script is working, so I assume that you have already installed a 2nd rom (I think its repencis v3) and its working. now, you want to install another 2nd rom (a modified repencis v3) in your sdcard. am I right?
if you want to install another 2nd rom, please follow this guide:
1. reformat your 4th partition.
2. extract your rom.
3. replace folder meta-inf with the one from me.
4. rezip your file, put in your sdcard.
5. make bootsdcard file in your sdcard's root.
6. enter recovery mode.
7. install your rom, reboot
in any case if this guide didn't work, the probem may comes from your modification. I don't know what you've done to modify it but I think your modification makes the rom didn't work.

Hello there,
I was trying to install CM10 on my A100 but I messed it up.
I got everything right till TWRP installation, then I accidentally delete everything on my device, CM10 rom included. Now the only thing accessible is TWRP.
I understand from other posts of the forum that it should be still possible to flash a ROM choosing Mount from the menu, but I can't work out how.
I click on the mount tab, and I connect it to my computer via USB. My linux system recognises the tablet as a multimedia player, but it does not allow me to copy files on it. Changing the status of mounting System, Data and Cache does not change the behaviour. The option mount SD card is not selectable.
I have got TWRP 2.2.0, and my A100 does not have external SD.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Do you have a microsd? Or twrp just won't see it. That would probably be the easiest option, load a ROM on the micro SD.
Did you make a backup first thing?
If your tab is in recovery, you should be able to use adb and push a ROM to the internal memory, but it is not recommended to flash from it. That's why I mentioned the microsd first.

Unfortunately not, no microSD slot. I do not even have a backup; in my clumsiness while I was following the procedure I skipped an entire paragraph and I jumped to the wiping section.
I will try to use ADB, I saw that there are few threads covering the procedure. Thanks for the tip, I'll be back with the results
Ok, all went well.
I followed the instructions in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667929
with two minor corrections:
1 - as I did not have the /sdcard directory, I used the /data directory
2 - there was no need to add the ROM file name again after /data
thanks for help

Consider yourself lucky, that ROM has nothing to do with this device and would likely have killed it. Only use ROMs from the device forum of the device you're flashing. I mean go to the development section of the a100 and get a ROM there, not some random device ROM with a great name.

The increase of internal memory HTC Wildfire S
I am always tired of the same message "Not enough memory to install the application." You might, too. Now there is a way to increase the amount of internal memory through the memory card.
And so we go.
Attention! This method only works for CyanogenMod 10 (possibly CyanogenMod 9). As all the data that you have on your memory card will be erased, so make a backup. Firmware will rest again.
If all you are satisfied, then read on.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download this archive to your computer.
2. Unpack it.
3. Go to the folder system -> etc -> init.d
4. Downloading or be on the computer archive firmware. (CM 10)
5. Opens archive firmware (you can use regular WinRar)
6. Go to the folder system -> etc -> init.d
7. Drag the file from the archive (file name 40int2ext) in an archive folder firmware.
From the archive finished. Take up the phone.
1. We connect the phone to the computer in the drive.
2. Format the flash drive in FAT32
3. Disconnect the phone from the computer
3. Load your phone to CWM Recovery
Working with Recovery
P.S. If anyone has forgotten, remind. Moving to CWM Recovery volume keys. Confirm selection - power button.
1. Wipe data / wipe cache
2. Advanced -> Partition SDcard (choose your desired size - the size, which will increase the phone memory. I chose the 512 because I have a memory card is only 2GB).
SWAP - 0!
3. Expect when the screen will say Done
4. Go Back
5. Mount and Storage -> USB Storage
6. We connect the phone to the computer via a USB cord.
7. Resets modified firmware archive.
8. After finishing click Unmount
9. Set the archive firmware
10. Rejoice in expanded memory.

Dude...unlock your bootloader thru htcdev.com...den root it...and install a recovery...then install custom roms like cm10 cm9 etcetra
Alex, BRILLIANT!!!!
I only just upgraded to CyanogenMod 10 and saw your post, and now my apps page on my wildfire S is reading :
Internal Storage: 322MB used, 3.4GB free, I had an 8GB SD card and allocated 4GB for the partition size.
When it finally booted it was sluggish (be patient if you are just trying this, it takes a fair while to boot), obviously things were still loading in the background as i opened the screen. But after a few seconds it was working faster than ever!!
Considering the price of Class 10 SD cards these days, i'm unsure yet whether to get a 16GB or 32GB with 50/50 partition size, i think it would be the perfect addition for my "New" Wildfire S. Hope the extra space doesn't actually slow it down. Will post an update on my findings.
Many, MANY thanks, your English was not a problem btw =)
EXCELLENT!!!
Cheers

If your phone is running under an official Android firmware, and the HBoot is unlocked, and you want to root it, i suggest to take a look at unlockroot. This is a simple tool to enable root access on your WFS phone, and I found it very simple to use.
I can confirm that Int2ext+ works in CM9, but I managed to get it going a bit easier than modifying the ROM before it was applied.
Step 1: partition SD card with FAT32:ext4:swap
Step 2: perform wipe and format functions prior to installation
Step 3: install CM9 per ROM instructions
Step 4: before you reboot to finish CM9 install, mount sd-ext and sdcard
Step 5: apply Int2ext+ zip from sdcard
Step 6: reboot
Step 7: get cup of coffee while phone reboots
Step 8: enjoy more space on your WildfireS
I know this is a horribly written and formatted post, I hate typing on the iPad. I'll fix it whe I get home if its too confusing and/or annoying for anyone.
I assume you would use this instead of Link2SD?
So you would have to start again with steps like Dan in SA mentions.
I have just read somewhere else in here where they a using Int2ext+ as well as Link2SD. One of the pitfalls of CronMod's (or was it Cronmon?) scripts is that it requires internal memory for the links - I forget the exact ratio, but my fingers want to type 100Mb for every 500Mb available on the SD card for the sd-ext partition. Link2SD will still work in this instance, because all it is doing is creating a link to sdcard, not to sd-ext.
Come to think of it, this post makes no sense Witt references - I'll dig up those refs and explain more fully in a bit.

It shows error while in the process of rooting!
Alternate EASY method!!
I've tested this and it works fine with CM9 as well. Plus this is a whole lot simpler and easier.

8. After finishing click Unmount
9. Set the archive firmware
If you could explain this I would appreciate it.

admin....
Still I cant see any increased internal memory
Hi Everyone...
I was using an HTC wildfire S A510e.But I was fed up of getting low internal memory warning..so I searched for some solution online, while I got your link from xda developers.
I just followed all the instruction given in your link and HTCdev.com and finally unlocked the bootloader.I also rooted the phone and installed clockwork recovery mod installed..I did take the backup of original rom using clockworkmod recovery backup option..
Then I followed the instruction on how to increase internal memory..while doing that I allocated 1024MB (my sd card 4GB) for partitioning..I completed all the process and also installed cyanogen 7.2 as I had downloaded from the link provided by you.
But to my surprise when I checked the internal memory it still shows 150mb..and after installing some apps it again shows low memory warning..
when I checked sd card it shows 2.73 GB total space, which means all most 1Gb has gone somewhere...
So can any one please suggest me what to do???n please let me know where this 1GB has gone without increasing the internal memory.??

Hey Everyone,
I tried my hands on installing cyanogenmod 11 for xperia m. Did not take the backup of the current ROM, and did not transfer the package file to the SD card. However, the Fastboot and Unlocking BootLoader went fine.
Now the situation is, Current ROM erased, no backup, cant seem to install the cyanogenmod package either by "Sideload" or "Push and install".
While trying the SideLoad method, i get the error "E: can't open tmp/update.zip" .
Dont know where to start and how to revert back. Please can someone here help me?
This may be the solution.
hey brother,
Seems like you messed up with your phone and i think i have a solution for that.
Firstly as u have mentioned that your bootloader is unlocked .
Download Androxyde XPERIA Flashtool from here.
Then install it on your PC , later install Fastboot and Flashtool Drivers (the .exe file will be there in c:\flashtool\flashtool drivers,u need not download separately) , as u are using Sony Xperia M , Check Flashtool drivers , Fastboot Drivers and Drivers for Xperia P,S when prompted.
Then Connect your Phone in Fastboot Mode ( by holding Volume Down button ,check for ur phone ) and Flash the recovery.img / boot.img which will be in the Zip file of CM11. Download Gapps for your phone Then copy the zip file and the gapps.zip into your sdcard and put that sdcard into ur phone and boot via recovery(holding volume up button). Then Do the following
Wipe factory/data cache
wipe cache partition
wipe dalvik cache
go to install zip>install from sdcard1>select ur Cm11 file
In the same way Flash Gapps too
reboot and Enjoy
It worked for me and i am sure it will work for u too. if it didnt i am so sorry i cant help u.plz msg me if u have any doubts
all the best :laugh::good::angel:

Hey there....
Thanks for the reply. Appreciated!!
Sorry for being late, i kinda made it. I was only working with the Boot.img file and not the whole zip package. Copied the Zip to the SD and installed CM11.
Although i have one more question.
Internal is still 2.05, whereas Xperia M has 4gb of internal.
And also is there any way to swap internal with external in CM11. i have a 16gb SD Card.
Well Done
