First off, my phone is vanilla htc one x from ATT. The furthest I've gone to customizing it is using ADW Launcher
my battery died last night at work so I charged it. When I took it off the charger, I turned it on and saw the HTC logo and then it freezes on a blank screen. I have to load into the bootloader just to turn it off. I'm looking at what I can do about it but wanted to post in case anyone had information about this issue. If I try to reboot it or anything, it just comes up to the same logo screen and then goes blank

perhaps it might be a good idea to ask in the correct forum, you are in the One X tegra 3 forum. You need the AT&T One X forum>>>>>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1538

Argh. HTC Desire, has been running Cyanogen 7.0 for months now.
This morning I get up and the phone won't switch on, just sitting there with the green light indicating charge must have finished over night.
Pull the battery and reboot, stuck on white screen with HTC in the middle.
Pull the battery and reboot, comes up to the lock screen but is then frozen and won't unlock.
Pull the battery and reboot the rest of the times (mostly) and it won't get any further than the main HTC screen.
Pull the battery and try to get to the boot loader (vol -) and it works, clear storage, reboot, and it comes up asking me to set it up again, so far so good. During setting this up the screen goes black and I have to pull the battery. Now i'm back to stuck at the white HTC screen.
NO changes were made to the phone, it's been solid and completely dependable since the cyanogen mod went on months ago, until this morning.
next step i'm going to leave the battery out for a few hours before putting it back in but in the mean time I thought i'd post here and see if any of you clever folks have any ideas.
I do still have insurance so I guess the next step after this is to call it in.
Thanks in advance.
Matt.
Have you got another sd card that you could install a rom onto and then flash from that ?
stuck the htc after install a new rom or update? ... i had the same prob and must perform a full wipe
Hi,
Recently, my Desire HD has crapped out during the process of changing my back ground wall paper. It restarted and some how the screen got stuck on lock screen with the screen being totally unresponsive. I can tell the device is "semi-working" as the top bar shows that the phone does all its start up processes and the top lock button works (although it is with a delay).
Is there a reason why this is happening?
Any solution to it? (Yes I have gone through google for 2 hours without solution found)
If I have to resort to hard reset, is there any way I can back up my messages + things in the phone aside from programs before resetting?
Any help would be great!
Thanks in advance!
frozen lockscreen
my desire has done the same thing since rooting and using android rev rom. the only way i got mine to respond was to drop the battery out then put it back in and reboot with the charger plugged in and switched on. as soon as the phone is on, unlock it and use it. this did the trick with me. hope it helps.
Hello to all, I read alot on this forum, but decided to register as I believe that there are very intelligent individuals on this forum.
Yesterday I tried the "HTC Function Test Program 1.03g" on my HTC Wildfire (WWE_2.22.405.1). I did this by calling the number: #*#*3424#*#*
I did a "Display Test" which displayed a white screen and dissapeared by pressing the back key. After doing that test I noticed the screen doesn't sleep, in other words the screen remains on with back lighting.
Today my phone paused and I saw a very colorful graphic on the display so I had to reboot / removed battery.
The screen was blank, after trying to remove the battery etc I managed to boot untill enter sim code but right after that the screen went blank again.
Now I have figured out that the phone is running normally, the screen is blank though. After reading in the forums I successfully reinstalled the RUU Ver. (RUU_Buzz_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.22.405.1_Radio_13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10_release_160191_signed)
But still blank screen. My feeling tells me that the display has somehow been disabled. I cannot boot into recovery mode (Volume-down+power on) as the screen is still blank. No matter what I do, screen blank.
The phone seems to still be alive.
Any ideas what I could try? I have done this test on another phone now, and the screen is staying on now, so Im worried if I reboot it, I will end up with blank screen.
Please give me some ideas on what to try I would be very grateful.

Yesterday night while I was using my HTC DESIRE 820 my phone suddenly switched off and it turned on by itself only after about an hour...
I plugged it ito charge before I went to sleep and woke up to find my screen completely blank but he LED notification light still shows green( which means its charged 100%) even after I removed it from the plug point...I left the phone like that and returned in the evening to find the phone still in the same condition!
Im panicking! Should I take my phone to the service center immediately????
uhh... YES.
Wonder if..
Hi, just wondering if you were helped by this Problem? I have an HTC ALCATEL A564C, I was working on it's OS, did not touched it for a month, just now I tried turning it on and even hardreset button's its on but black screen, last time I could go to twrp menu.. Can anyone help me please.
Hi I'm new on this forum. My m9 suddenly went off and rebooted while battery was on charge. I tried turning it off and restarting, but it would just display the htc logo and restart severally till battery runs down. I cannot access the flush mode screen. The only screen i can access is the recovery option screen with the white background. Any help with fixing my phone plssssssss. Thanks

Unfortunately i think your phone is dead. Probably another nand failure. Htc or a repair shop is your only way.
